  1. Couture is not big amongst casual fans? It was him coming out of retirement to face Tim Sylvia that gave that a bigger buyrate than it would have otherwise.
  2. So, I've got a question based on a conversation I was having with Biggzay. Should Fedor-Couture end up getting signed for UFC, it's arguably the most anticipated fight ever. I can agree with that, but I don't think it'll break buyrate records just because neither man is big amongst casual fans. Not to mention the lackluster performances of other Pride stars lately, I'm sure a casual fan would be more hesitant to buy into the hype machine for Fedor. So yea, I'm bored and I'm curious what some of you think.
  3. I'm glad Fihlo is defending in June, but honestly I'm just waiting for Faber-Jens to be finalized.
  4. I just wanna say I'm shocked, but pleasantly surprised, at the Ghost Dog love. I've been loaning out my copy for years trying to get others to enjoy it, good to see EWB already knows. Edit: After rummaging through my DVD's, wanted to bring up Deep Cover as another unpimped movie that deserves more props.
  5. I hate you so much for beating me to that joke. But yeah, Madonna is overrated.
  6. 1- Denzell Washington 2- Tom Hanks 3- Leo Dicapprio 4- Jamie Foxx 5- Anthony Hopkins 6- Johnny Depp 7- Jack Nicholson 8- Al Pacino 9- Morgan Freeman 10- Forrest Whitaker This is a tough list to do, so many actors I had to leave off. Sean Connery would definately make my top ten, but since he retired, I figured I'd leave him off. Denzell and Hanks speak for themselves. Dicapprio just seems to choose great roles for himself. Jamie Foxx can do comedy and serious films, under-rated in my opinion. Hopkins just commands your attention. Depp is great at character portrayal, always willing to take a risk too. Nicholson and Pacino, just legendary. Morgan Freeman, while he doesn't necessarily take a lot of chances, he's just incredibly solid and great at what he does. Forrest Whitaker, just a personal favorite. Never seen him in a role I didn't like and yes that includes Ghost Dog.
  7. Psh. Melle Mel, Coke La Rock, Keith Cowboy, Lovebug Starski, Spoony G, Cold Crush Brothers, Kid Creole...that's old school.
  8. Almost forgot to mention Joell Ortiz, who dropped a great one back in February.
  9. I'd forgotten about Monche, that was another great album. I've got some catching up to do. Haven't yet been able to listen to Lupe, Ghostface, Wu-Tang, or Scarface, but expecting good things out of all of em. If that holds true, then yea, roughly 10 or so albums I'd highly recommend this year, so definately not a bad year.
  10. Just off the top of my head....T.I., Devin the Dude, Keith Murray, and Cassidy all put out very good albums this year. And really, considering how rushed it ended up being, the Playaz Circle album wasn't half bad either.
  11. An incredibly hard list to make. I slowly narrowed the list from 20 or so down to 10, but it was definately not easy. 1- George Carlin 2- Eddie Murphy 3- Rodney Dangerfield 4- Katt Williams 5- Ron White 6- Patton Oswalt 7- Ralphie May 8- Wanda Sykes 9- Dane Cook 10- Kevin James
  12. About Michigan, I'd agree they shouldn't be back in the top 25 yet. That's the problem with pre-season rankings. If there were no pre-season rankings and we created the top 25 after week 6, they wouldn't be there in my opinion. And I'm a diehard Wolverines fan. Blame the writers. The Appy State agument is completely seperate from that though. If they were a 1-A school with a 1-A schedule, then yes, certainly I'd give them top 25 mention if they were 5-1. But there just can't be a discussion with teams from completely different divisions.
  13. I'm saying you cannot rank Appy State. You can't rank them 120, you can't rank them 1. They play a completely different schedule, a much weaker schedule, therefore it's not in comparison. You can give them props for a big win at Michigan, they got paid and they got exposure, that's HUGE for their program. That is their reward. Nothing else. No top ten ranking in a division that they're not in. No bowl bids in a division that they're not a part of. They've got a chance to build their program now, congratulations, that's it. And I can't say that Iowa State is better than Appy State, but you can't say that Appy State's better than them. Unless Appy State comes in, plays that Big 12 + Iowa schedule and wins more than Iowa State did, you'll never know. That's my point. They had one big win, that's awesome, but they're not doing it week in and week out against the same opponents as 1-A schools. Really, if anyone actually thought Appy State was equal to Michigan, then why is the win such a big deal? Think about it. You cannot base things on ONE game, win or lose. You have to take into account the entire season.
  14. You want Appy State ranked? Tell em to meet 1-A requirements and apply. When they play a full 1-A schedule, then we'll talk. Until then, it's purely speculation. And you CANNOT realistically compare their schedule to a Big 10 schedule. They lost to Wofford. A good Wofford team? Because they hung with NC State? C'mon. That's a stretch, a big stretch.
  15. On one hand, yes, he shouldn't have any guns. It's a term of his parole, all that. But it's not as if he was caught riding around with the guns, they were locked in a safe in his house. The fact that he didn't know how to tell semi-auto from auto leads me to believe he probably hasn't done a lot of shooting. He could make a semi-reasonable case that it was for collection or whatever. Though the "no flash, no bang" part isn't gonna bode well.
  16. With Cutty (sp) saying House is responsible for the guy's death, and Foreman being fired, could Foreman come back in charge of House? Or maybe run his own seperate team with Cameron and Chase? I'm just trying to figure out why they'd show Foreman being fired and where it'll lead.
  17. Umm....yea....for us non-donators, what's goin on? Gamefly sent me NHL 2k8 already, should be here tomorrow. They'll be sending NHL 08 tomorrow probably, should be here early next week. I wanted to be able to play and compare both games before deciding on a buy. This will be the first year I buy a hockey game though.
  18. There's losing 1 game, then there's losing to a 1aa team...Michigan should never, ever, ever, win by less than 30 points vs a 1aa team, yet they lost, which is embarrassing to them and the Big Ten as a hole.

  20. Yea, I stole Biggz format. Atlantic Coast Conference Boston College Clemson University Duke Florida State Georgia Tech Maryland Miami North Carolina North Carolina State Virginia Virginia Tech Wake Forest Virginia Tech's the powerhouse here and the usual candidates will be there: Miami, Florida State, Clemson. But the sleeper pick of them all is going to be Georgia Tech, who should finally have a quarterback with some accuracy and they should be able to move the ball well, even after losing Calvin Johnson. That said, I think they end up being the runner up. ACC Champion: Virginia Tech Big East Conference Cincinnati Connecticut Louisville Pittsburgh Rutgers South Florida Syracuse West Virginia It's funny that Biggz mentioned South Florida because they're the team I like the most in this conference. They've been building that program steadily and they're almost there. The match up I'm most anticipating is West Virginia playing AT South Florida, a game I think USF will win. Rutgers has a steady ground attack with Ray Rice and they're out to prove they're legit. Louisville's got perhaps the best pro qb prospect in Brohm, but it's just not enough. Big East Champion: Rutgers Big Ten Conference Illinois Indiana Iowa Michigan Michigan State Minnesota Northwestern Ohio State Pennsylvania State Purdue Wisconsin Ohio State and Iowa (who doesn't play Michigan or Ohio State) are both scary teams and Purdue's going to get a big upset this year, probably at home against Notre Dame, but the two front runners for me are Wisconsin and Michigan. I just think Michigan has too much fire power on offense and too good of a defensive coordinator in Ron English to not get it done. Big Ten Champion: Michigan Big Twelve Conference Colorado Iowa State Kansas Kansas State Missouri Nebraska Baylor Oklahoma Oklahoma State Texas Texas A&M Texas Tech Not a lot to talk about here. Like Biggz said, Texas/Oklahoma plays Nebraska. I think Nebraska goes all the way here though. Big Twelve Champion: Nebraska Pacific Ten Conference Arizona Arizona State California Oregon Oregon State Stanford UCLA Southern California Washington Washington State USC is the easy choice here, only because nobody else is really stepping it up in the conference right now and Oregon has a tough schedule, going to hte Big House. That said, Oregon also gets to host USC and they will win that game. It won't be enough to stop the Trojans, but it will at least provide a nice shake-up. Pacific Ten Champion: Southern California Southeastern Conference Florida Georgia Kentucky South Carolina Tennessee Vanderbilt Alabama Arkansas Auburn University Louisiana State Mississippi Mississippi State You can make a legit case for probably eight of these teams to win the SEC. I don't Tebow's going to be consistent enough for Florida, I don't think Georgia has the offensive weapons, and Tennessee's still got quarterback issues. Alabama has Saban, but that's going to take more than this year. I think it really comes down to who has the best player, that one player who can elevate a team to another level when need be. That man is Darren McFadden. Southeastern Conference Champion: Arkansas I'm not going to bother with the bowl predictions, but I will predict the national title game in somewhat of a surprise. For me, Michigan's the sure thing. Biggzay may have been first, but I'll jump on the bandwagon. Nebraska beats USC in week two and rides that momentum all the way to an undefeated Big 12 season, which is good enough to get them to the big game. But loyalty forces me to pick against them and go with Michigan as the national champs. BCS National Championship: Michigan d. Nebraska Heisman Trophy Winner: Darren McFadden over Colt Brennan, Mario Manningham, Ray Rice, and Marlon Lucky
  21. Anyone who has this for the 360, can you let me know what the rushing stats are like? I just got an awesome deal on a 360 and will be looking at either buying Madden or NCAA, but I don't wanna run into the same problem I had with Madden on regular xbox.
