  1. I heard a couple of songs from this - surprisingly good!
  2. It’s because the roses are white. It looks like an old lady’s dressing gown.
  3. Having a catchphrase when you are not a game show presenter is naff full stop.
  4. He should own property and vacation somewhere better
  5. I always assumed one of the advantages of being a multi-millionaire is the ability to avoid nonsense like Miami and Saudi Arabia and just spend the end of your career doing something nice rather than chasing the money. But I guess some people r just v greedy.
  6. If Tottenham sold Kane to Man City back when he wanted to leave a couple of seasons ago maybe City would never have ended up buying Haaland and Arsenal would have won the league by now.
  7. I just want whoever is most likely to lose to Kilmarnock. …. or do I???? I quite liked our season in the league below. Wouldn’t mind abother. More fun.
  8. Yeah I find a lot of the animosity quite silly when it boils over. The fans of my team - Kilmarnock - will sing songs about how much they hate Ayr (closest team to us) even though they’ve been in the same division for about one season in the last 30 or so. I find it quite silly and I generally hope for Ayr to do well - it would be nice to have two Ayrshire teams in the premier league (assuming Kilmarnock don’t get relegated anytime soon which is highly possible).
  9. I’m sure I read somewhere that Nottingham Forest and Notts County have a nice relationship, but they’re not exactly operating at the same level so not sure if you could count it anyway.
  10. Hopefully it makes the organisers think the commercial potential of USA isn’t all it’s made out to be and they don’t need to have three races there every year.
  11. I can’t believe Gael Kakuta has been on Chelsea’s books since 2009. Bizarre.
  12. I think next year is Baba Rahman’s year.
  13. Sometimes I get the impression you’re actually secretly enjoying Chelsea’s current shit show
  14. I pay to win or I cheat. Usually I pre-emptively pay to win or cheat so I don’t have to risk getting stuck. Srsly tho I only play Euro Truck Simulator and if I get stuck on that I call a tow service to haul me to the nearest repair garage.
  15. Is this for the Big Sam welcome bell-ringing celebration?
  16. So glad to have Big Sam. Just need to get Redknapp and Pulis back in and the Premier League might stop being a shit donkey league.
  17. I would have thought that after his 147 league goals for the club Frank Lampard had done enough to be given the job permanently. No respect.
  18. Mechanical failures would be nice too. Which is a really basic thing that even the first iteration should have had but better late than never.
  19. They’re called the Gaslight Anthem because they gaslight you into thinking their new album might sound different
  20. I missed this and avoided the result so I could watch a replay. What a waste of time.
  21. This is very sad. I like Franz Tost because he looks like my dad.
  22. I’ve been trying to rack my brains over this. At first I thought of the retro-soul scene that seemed to be all over the place from about 2005-2009. And a lot of that lot are unheard of now. Of the two big names though: Adele is still very much with us and Amy Winehouse has an excuse for her recent lack of activity. Either way the music is still around but they were the only two artists of real enduring talent so that’s not a surprise. The ones that deserved to stick around did. The others that didn’t were by no means bad. They just weren’t special. I tried to think of some others and I still couldn’t hit on any that surprised me. In some cases the band or artist just wasn’t able to adapt to changing tastes. In other cases - Chumbawumba being a good example of those already mentioned - they had their big moment and were happy to go back into relative obscurity afterwards. In other cases they just weren’t that good in the first place. I think in pop music everyone - perhaps except juggernaughts like the Beatles and the Stones and Abba* - will eventually be reduced to one or two songs. You might love Guns n Roses and Nirvana and they might be your life but to most people they are just Sweet Child O Mine and Smells Like Teen Spirit. The one that I feel a bit here is the UK “landfill indie” scene. This was very much what I grew up with and now it is (to my mind a bit unfairly) maligned but 15 years on pretty much all of these bands are still plugging away, on tour to promote their eighth album. But even though these were the bands of my youth I don’t give a shit about their eighth album. I only care about the music they put out when I was 16 and I feel that phenomena can explain the fate of quite a few of the bands we’ve been discussing here. *And perhaps over time even those at that tier will be forgotten. I mean Beethoven has as fine a corpus as you can get in music, and by no means low profile. But ask a random to name a tune and you’ll be lucky if you get DUN DUN DUN DUUUUN
  23. In ten years time Theo Walcott will be reaching his peak. Just you wait.
  24. Sad thing is I don’t see Man City with Haaland getting any weaker at this point. Arsenal might be second again next season but I expect they - or whoever else it is - will be a long way off first.
