  1. That’s true. Managers who have done well in Scotland have famously not really been able to cut it down in England. Like the guy this thread is named after, for example.
  2. Nobody goes to the MLS these days. It’s all about the Saudibucks now.
  3. Early days but it looks like Mercedes have made a pretty good car now.
  4. Does this have any implication for that license points potential race ban that was dangling over his head for a while?
  5. Is he going to retire now? Has he completely lost what he had?
  6. Did you know: both of these teams are managed by baldy men
  7. Yeah I actually considered Dublin for this but went for Edinburgh in the end because tickets plus accommodation worked out about a third of the price (which is saying a lot because Edinburgh isn’t exactly cheap).
  8. Old Bruce was really good. I’ve never actually been to a stadium show before and it had all the annoying things I expected - not particularly good sound, lots of waiting, pain in the arse to get home from and so on. But it didn’t really matter because the show was so good. I wouldn’t say Springsteen is my favourite that I’ve ever seen in terms of the music itself, but I think he might be the best at putting on a show, which is a rare talent that far too many great musicians and songwriters are terrible at. I don’t think it was possible to have a bad time at this show.
  9. Can we please stop the Big Sam disrespect in this thread. He is a great man and it is not his fault that Leeds are so shit that even a wizard like Big Sam can't keep them up.
  10. Yeah this race wasn't terrible. Probably the one I've enjoyed most this year, although that's not saying very much.
  11. Hmmm. Do I go outside and enjoy the sun or do I stay inside and watch a Verstappen procession?
  12. Yeah I think that’s okay. I only thought it was silly when Gareth Bale won it when he was 31 or whatever.
  13. Great showing from the King of the Streets TM
  14. I’m not the biggest Bruce Springsteen fan but I’ve always thought he’s someone that is worth seeing before he jacks it all in/dies so I bought a ticket to see him in Edinburgh on Tuesday. Should be fun.
  15. It’s a sad day for Rangers fans. I think I liked Missing You best. TT is obvs a great singer and that song has some classic Trevor Horn producton. Pretty unusual for being a 60s star who became even bigger in the 80s. Who else did that? I guess there’s Steve Winwood, Diana Ross, Paul Simon. But so many others tried to fit in and failed. I think I liked the cover of Honky Tonk Women best out of the early ones. I guess Proud Mary is the most famous of that period but it makes me think of drunk grannies at community centre discos. Although I guess that isn’t Tina Turner’s fault. Just like having her biggest bit of all co-opted by Rangers fans isn’t her fault either.
  16. I don’t mean to burst your bubble, but there has not been a good wrestling game released this century that doesn’t feature Triple H. The statistics don’t lie.
  17. I think the phrase litmus test should be banned unless you are genuinely trying to find out how acidic something is
  18. Yeah I’m quite surprised that’s all they’ve come out with. There’s far more that needs to be done and I imagine I’d just leave pit crew training untouched like I leave training on Football Manager untouched.
  19. I prefer the alternate universe where Poch goes to Tottenham and is inevitably shit and the the Spurs fans cry even more.
  20. Yeah, I think the state ownership certainly has helped Man City and it gives them a big unfair advantage. But clubs like Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool haven’t exactly been shy with the cash either. Main difference is that Man City have mostly spent their money well and the others haven’t. Maybe that won’t last forever.
  21. See if you want to have a big massive night out but the bars and clubs are too expensive? You buy some cheap beers at the supermarket and drink them at home while playing some shit games and then go out. That’s preloading.
  22. Imagine if Man City win the cup, league and and Europe in one season. That would be such an incredible and unique achievement.
  23. In 1984 Rod Stewart released a cover of 70s dad rock classic (and actual pretty good song) All Right Now and I think it might be the worst cover of a song I’ve ever heard. It is so bad I have a compulsive need to listen to it and have added it to my library. Go and listen to it now.
