  1. I play on expert and boy does it take some getting used to. I still lose more often than not but at least now it's more by flash KO's instead of submissions. You just need to get used to being smart, blocking a lot and waiting for the right opportunity to throw the big blows. On the mat get comfortable with the right stick turns and anytime you're on your back or in a bad spot, work them and nothing else until you're free. A good way to drain the CPU's stamina are lots and lots of body shots. If you really stick them good, by the second round their energy will be drained so you can move in for the kill.
  2. His timing is all over the place and he lacks control over his fills and general playing. I really hate these "kid drummer" videos. None of them ever amount to anything. Everyone always flaunts that Tony Royster Jr. video and to that I say "what's he doing now?". Nothing.
  3. I am quite looking forward to this. I saw a screen shot of the graphical updates earlier today. Looks pretty good to me. I'm anxious to get my Cyclops/BB Hood/Cable team going once more. This sure beats losing/finding/losing/finding/and losing again cycle of my Dreamcast copy of the game.
  4. Yeah, if you have the time do it up.
  5. If someone could get Brian K. Vaughn to adapt "Y The Last Man" into a mini series on HBO, I think that would absolutely rule.
  6. One thing that got me mad was half the time when you get in that fetal position like situation where you've basically lost the fight, you can cover up and sometimes stay in the fight. Other times you'll do the same thing and none of the punches will get through from your opponent and the fight will stop. On another note, what difficulty is everyone finding best for them? I think i'm going to go through career mode on advanced and play exhibition mode on expert. Just so I don't lose a ton of career mode fights. Pretty much everyone I've talked to about the game is going to expert. You certainly go through a hell of a fight on it though sometimes it's a little too hard. The CPU tends to get some pretty incredible knockouts and lucky moves on it.
  7. I just came across this on Kotaku. Starting on this Sunday, Best Buy will be selling some games for 10 bucks. Most are pretty bad but there are some decent ones: Devil May Cry 4, Soul Calibur 4, Bourne Conspiracy, Rock Band (just the game), Command & Conquer 3, Pure, Silent Hill Homecoming, and more. Here's the link: http://kotaku.com/5225346/best-buys-10-game-sale I think I'm going to grab iMPACT so I can finish it up and maybe grab Pure as well.
  8. I bought and watched The Wrestler earlier today. I didn't like it or dislike it any more than when I first watched it which is OK I guess. Usually I find different things when I watch a movie at home that I didn't pick up on at first but I didn't with this. It's a solid film but not Aronofsky's best work. 7.5/10 I've also been watching The Sopranos a TON lately. I never got into it until maybe half way through the second to last season. So now I've started at the beginning and am currently at the second to last episode of season 3. Really good show, better than I thought it was going to be. I liked it when I watched episodes when they were new but now I'm loving the show. I really need to do this with some other shows like The Shield and The Wire.
  9. If you think the head kick KO's are cool, KO him with a flying knee or a knee from the clinch. Awesome looking. I pre-ordered the game earlier tonight. The 19th can't come quickly enough. Those of us on here that get it will have to do some online matches together.
  10. I didn't plan on it but I ended up playing the demo for damn near four hours last night. I've never played a demo that much. The game is just plain fun as hell. Certainly download it on Thursday when it comes out to the general public. It's got a learning curve no doubt about it and the harder difficulties are incredibly challenging. I haven't gone up to the hardest one yet but on the second to hardest I maybe won one fight for every ten I had.
  11. Did anyone else on here get the limited Slayer 7" that came out on Saturday for Record Store Day? I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet but the packaging is awesome. It comes in what appears to be a cold war era Russian military document and the vinyl is see through red. Pretty cool of a band at that level to put out something limited to only 1000 copies. I'm hoping I'll have time to listen to all the new stuff I've got recently tonight. I also pre ordered the upcoming Graf Orlock vinyl though it's already leaked to the web. I haven't listened to it but I can't imagine it's anything less than awesome.
  12. I acquired it via questionable methods.
  13. I've been playing the demo for a little while now. It's really great. I'm going to pre order this week. It's nice and fluid and most of all fun.

    Sad Songs

Two of the saddest songs I know are: I Will Follow You Into the Dark by Death Cab for Cutie Sentimental Heart by She & Him
  15. I've been playing playing it and really enjoy it. I'll probably finish it by next week. It has flaws for sure but it's fun. If it drops in price, get it.
  16. Here's mine, looking forward to yours Livid.

If i like a band I tend to get their entire discography. Though lots of bands I listen to haven't put out three full albums yet.
  18. I'm enjoying the game but it is far from perfect. Still fun though. I plan on putting in some serious play tomorrow night.
  19. Works for me. I'll have it up within the next day or two.
  20. Whatever works for you. I'm not really keen on that last one with the rich people though. Hate to be picky but I can't see it coming out well at all on my end.
  21. The stuff I've heard so far by Trigger the Bloodshed is pretty good and I think they have a little more traditional influence then a lot of the newer bands. Though I haven't heard the whole album yet. I listened to the Agoraphobic Nosebleed album last night and it's the best I've heard from them. The new singer can really scream. She's got an awesome voice on her. Excellent addition to the band.
  22. I watched Doubt over the weekend. I thought it was pretty good and was a bit surprised it didn't get more play at the Academy Awards and Golden Globes. Though it did seemed sort of rushed towards the end. I think it was only 77 minutes or something like that. Could have easily been pushed out towards the two hour mark to fix the pacing. Without trying to spoil it, why did no one ever talk to the kid? Isn't that the first thing people do in that situation? I understand that it was a complex situation but still. Also I watched this documentary the other night called "Tilt". It's about how Pinball went from being huge to basically being a dead form of entertainment. It mainly focuses on the team at Williams that was behind Pinball 2000 which in concept was awesome but had way to many problems. It's not long but I guess there is a DVD version out there with six hours of special features. If I can find it, I'll buy it for sure. I'm glad that in the past three years or so there have been some REALLY good documentaries on video games and things like that. I'd like to see that documentary about people that get lost in games like Warcraft and Second Life. I think it's completed and has been shown before at festivals but apparently it's not out to the masses yet. Also I heard about a documentary currently being made about people that made text adventure computer games back in the 80's. That oughta be something interesting.
  23. I'm committed to following the season better than I did last year. I'm really hoping we (the Sox) can make it back into the playoffs. I'm also hoping that Ramirez just goes off and has a monster season. He looks like he can be a great hitter and RBI guy which is something we need. It seemed to me that they've relied just a little too much on Thome and Konerko to bail them out lately. On the pitching side of things, Floyd should be shutting batters down left and right if he really pans out. I know the rotation is getting older but I think they can do some special things. I wouldn't be opposed to a trade though to bring a great arm here though. Other than that, as always I pray for the Yankees to crash and burn.
  24. I've been meaning to check out that Gin album since reading an article on the band in Decibel. The past few days I've really been trying to find some new death metal that isn't just breakdown after breakdown. I've found a few good things, Trigger the Bloodshed and this other band Devourment aren't bad. I grabbed the new Agorophobic Nosebleed album today so I gotta give that a listen, apparently it's pretty good from what I've heard.
  25. I beat the whole game including every achievement the first night I got it. Though I rushed through it. If you take your time you won't get bored. It's pretty fun to play and you can find it for between 30-40 dollars now. There are multiple difficulty levels. For me I didn't play all to much after I beat it but it was just a rental for me.
