  1. I'm on the fence whether or not to shell out the points for it. I have a spare 300 points on my account so I'd still have to spend a little more to get enough. Plus I can't imagine wanting to play with anyone on that besides Bourne and DiBiase. Plus right now all my time spent on my XBOX is either trying to get through Call of Duty 4 and Peggle.
  2. So I rented the game tonight and played it for a few hours, I'll give some quick thoughts. The gameplay is a little odd to get used to, especially for someone used to Fire Pro. Though after about five matches or so I got the hang of it. The game is pretty easy and I'm at the point now where I can win a match in a minute or less. Which pays off in Legend Killer mode. Though I'm not looking forward to the next Legend Killer tier I have to go though. Probably going to take some time. The Relive/Redefine section is pretty good though it can get pretty frustrating. During the Austin/Michaels match I got stuck trying to get back and forth from the entrance way to ringside which took way to long to figure out. With the way the gameplay is set up, some of the challenges are hard because of certain situations that hardly ever happen. I'm glad I didn't spend 60 bucks on it and rented instead. I can't imagine wanting to play too much more after my five rental days are up. I'm only four achievements away from 1000 points and after you finish all the challenges there isn't anything except more matches. Good casual game but doesn't have much lasting appeal. Probably the perfect game to get if it drops price during the summer. To tide one over until the next SVR game in the winter.
  3. Off the top of my head, Some Kind of Monster, Nerdcore Rising, Heavy Metal Baghdad/Istanbul, and theres a pseudo documentary on the Blip Festival but I can't remember the name. It was quite good though.
  4. Spoiler: Click here to viewAll in one, can't quit and save. That was one of the big problems IGN noted in their review.
  5. It's for my band's myspace, so yeah it's just the background.
  6. Game Informer confirmed that you play as a big daddy. There is an article on Kotaku about it.
  7. Thanks man, appreciated. Yeah the text was my big gripe with it as well. The gas masked soldiers that I used for that are the same I used for the cover of our upcoming E.P. So when that comes out, it'll all tie in together nicely. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours to complete mainly due to tedious measuring to make sure the sides lined up right when viewed on myspace.

    South Park

The Valhalla line made me laugh harder than half of the jokes from last season. Excellent start to the season indeed.
  9. I saw it tonight so I'll give some of my thoughts: I didn't read the book first, though I'll be ordering soon. I knew a little about it though so I wasn't going in totally blind. I absolutely felt like I knew the characters by the end of the movie. The flashbacks and all that were excellent and really did an excellent job of painting a great picture of each of the main characters. A friend of mine was with me and knew nothing of Watchmen outside of what he was going to see. He loved it and agreed that it did an excellent job of getting who's who across to the common viewer. I heard that some people didn't like Rorschach's narration throughout the movie but I thought it fit. It seems to me that he's more of a lead character than any of the others. At least in the movie version. Plus the pick of Jackie Earl Haley for the role was perfect. The guy is a class A sociopath looking and feeling actor. I for one wish it was a little longer but if we'll see more on the DVD release then all is good with me. This movie was very similar to Dark Knight in that when I saw it, when the credits rolled it was a feeling of "oh... it's done already?". Malin Akerman is gorgeous in this movie and played the role very well as did Patrick Wilson. I didn't mind the sex scene one bit and the "climax" thing made my bud laugh who saw the movie with me. It broke up the seriousness of the film a little but wasn't my cup of tea. To me, and this is obviously a snap judgment since the film is fresh in my mind but I feel it's at least the second best comic book movie made. Just behind Dark Knight. Had a very nice mix of violence, drama, and little dashes of humor.
  10. This was to update my band's myspace page. The layout we had was good but I wanted to do something a little nicer. I'm pretty satisfied with it except that the faces at the top of the image didn't come out as clear and the logo gets a tad unreadable. Also, I had to end up stretching it to fit larger monitors. It had weird borders when viewed on a larger computer monitor. Any feedback, good or bad would be great. I'll link since it's big... http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/9800/plaguelayout.jpg

    What song is this?

That was a guess of mine but not it. I've pretty much given up on it. I asked my dad who's full of music knowledge and he didn't know either. Thanks though guys.

    What song is this?

Sadly not it either. I think I'm just going to give up. I wish I could remember any lyrics or even what the song was about. All I have is that image of the guy in sunglasses on a stage sitting on a stool singing, well talking, it. I've pretty much exhausted Yahoo answers and the such looking for it. Oh well.

    What song is this?

Nope. I thought it might have been that Sunscreen song but it isn't listed as anyone performing it live here in the states. Unless that did happen and that info isn't on the Wikipedia page or Yahoo Answers. Thanks though.
  14. I'm trying to remember this song from I believe the 1990's. It's talked instead of sung and if I remember right the video had weird images and stuff. I also think they performed it on the Grammy's or VMA's or something like that. The guy was sitting on a stool wearing sunglasses. Also, it's not Once In a Lifetime by the Talking Heads. Thanks if anyone knows what I'm talking about.

  16. When I saw the title I knew it had to be the break documentary. I saw this maybe a half a year ago. Good stuff. I worked on an entire E.P with beats centred completely around the Amen Break and it's variants.
  17. I picked up the game earlier today and played some single player. Quite the good game so far. I imagine I'll start playing multi-player when I have the house to myself this week.
  18. My thoughts below Spoiler: Click here to viewI just finished watching it, actually the credits are rolling right now. It's a very good movie though one that I wish was a bit longer. This could have easily been a three hour film and not have felt like one. I think the pacing was a bit too fast as you don't really explore any of the three main story lines. That being said it's still one of the best movies I've seen in quite some time and probably the best this year. To a wrestling fan though, one that follows the indies you may end up not liking parts as they have to adjust things for the universe the movie takes place in but that's really such a minor thing it doesn't take anything away from the film. Rourke was quite good in the role, I haven't seen much of his work but I imagine this was as good of a performance he's capable of giving. That and after seeing it, I can't imagine another actor in the role. Marisa Tomei does a good job playing her part though I felt at the end of the movie I wanted to know more about her character. One last thing, the ending. I didn't like it. In one way it really suits the movie and gives you an iconic last image but at the same time it was just a little to abrupt and left me with a "wait... I want more" taste in my mouth. Knowing there won't (and shouldn't) be a sequel it feels like there are too many loose ends as not one bit of any of the story lines has any conclusion to it. All that being said, it really is a fine film from the way it was acted, the way everything looks, and the general tone and feel of it. It's a very sad film that hopefully lives on as a modern classic. I'm sure some of what I said makes it seem like i really didn't like the movie, I just didn't like parts of it but nothing huge that makes me think it's anything less then a fantastic movie well worthy of the praise it has been receiving. As a huge Darren Aronofsky fan, I'm not sure I would place that at the top of the list concerning his best work but it certainly deserves it's place aside movies like Pi and Requiem For a Dream. Though another few viewings could certainly change that opinion. I'll be trying to see this in theaters when it comes here at the end of January. I'm hoping it gets a robust DVD release with behind the scenes stuff plus directors commentary as Arronofsky always goes into great detail about how he makes his movies. If anyone is wondering about the wrestlers in the film, this is who I recognized: Necro Butcher (speaking role), Nigel McGuinness (speaking role but his face is never shown), Sabian, Claudio Castagnoli, Mitch Franklin, Bobby Cruise, Bobby Dempsey, and a slew of WXW guys.
  19. I had one for a while when I was doing regular work for bands. I haven't updated it in quite some time since I stopped doing any major design work. I ended up frustrated that every client wanted basically the same thing. I keep stuff on my computer for people to look at but these days I basically just design as a favor to friends bands.
  20. If you go to the Fox Searchlight website you can check out when it opens in your city. Sadly I won't be getting it until late January.

    Folie à Deux

To each his own. About the finding their sound, I meant it as this is much more closer in sound and riff ideas/drum parts to the last album than any of their other ones. You can tell they went about writing these songs in the same way that they did their last album. To me at least, this album and Infinity on High are more closely related to each other than Cork Tree or anything before that. Just my opinion anyways. FOB is my guilty pleasure as it's so different than 95% of what I listen to. Simple songs with simple melodies that get stuck in your head.

    Folie à Deux

I just finished listening to it so I figured I'd share my thoughts: I had some high hopes for this album as their effort last year was my album of the year. Folie A Deux doesn't disappoint as it's a solid follow up but it lacks a lot of what made Infinity on High so great. Fall Out Boy are at their best when they have a big sound going on, lots of layers and such. This album is a bit stripped down but you get the big feeling in songs like "Headfirst Into Cooperstown". I've always liked how they introduce horns and stringed instruments and was hoping they would do more but the two songs they do it in are better for it. If I remember right, Infinity on High had two ballads to this albums one. They do a damn good ballad so only having one is a bit of a let down. They certainly have found their sound as many of the songs have some throwbacks to the last album in riffs and vocal cadences. Stump's vocals are really good on this album and his tendency to mumble has gone away for the most part. It still sounds like he has marbles in his mouth sometimes but not as bad as before. The drumming is solid as always, some neat little patterns here and there. It's not as noticeable as it was on Infinity on High but he knows what he can do and plays to his strengths. I wish there were more vocal harmonies with more than one singer that and catchy lyrics but who knows, after a few more listens I may have a different opinion on that. Infinity on High is an album I still listen to almost weekly so time will tell if Folie a Deux joins the ranks of it's predecessor. I waited to make a final top ten albums list because I was figuring this would sneak in and grab the top spot. While I'm not sure it will end my year at number one it's certainly got a fighting chance against amazing albums like Slipknot's "All Hope is Gone", Offspring's "Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace", and others. I'll be giving a lot of albums a second or 11th listen in the next few weeks to determine the number one for '08 but I wouldn't be surprised if Fall Out Boy end up at number one. I give it an A.
  23. I liked Little Britain USA during it's run here in the states on HBO. It seems like if the season was any longer it'd get really old really fast. Some of the stuff I didn't want to see again after the first time they did it but other stuff that kept going was done pretty well. The show that has taken over for it on HBO from Australia "Summer Heights High" is a lot funnier.
  24. I'm in the process of watching the stuff I got for my birthday. I finished season 3 of Bones the other night and am currently at episode 2 of season 1. I'm also re-watching season 1 of Dexter for the third time. Almost done with it. I have season 1 of Big Bang Theory in the mail to watch once it gets here. On the movie side of things I have to finish watching the Justice documentary "A Cross The Universe" and this documentary I got on the Waco siege.

    Greatest band names

I've always though that "... And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead" was a great band name. As is "Give Up The Ghost". On the side of joke bands I once had a band called "Fucked by Steve Buscemi". Another was called "Strawberry Shortcake" and probably had the most offensive song titles and lyrics I've ever seen.
