  1. So I just flash KO'd someone with a 65-1 record online and the asshole disconnects before it registers the win. What a dick, are online records THAT important?
  2. I'd be up for a league that's on the 360.
  3. What is wrong with people online? They pick either Rampage or Chuck, spam their special punches and then complain when I take them down and make them tap. With the exception of my one knock out, all my wins are by submission because it's just too easy. I'm not even that good at the game. At least when I play against someone rated higher than me it's a good fight. I end up on the losing end usually but at least it's a fun fight.
  4. If anyone wants to play some online, I'm on right now. Tag in sig.
  5. Has anyone gotten Submission of the Night yet? I've been trying for it but it just doesn't seem to happen. I've had three Fight of the Night awards and four K.O's of the nights but get nothing for any of my submission wins.
  6. Depending on the genres and what kind of schedule you're looking for, I'd be up for writing some things. I try to stay as current as possible with what's coming out and I listen to a wide range of stuff. I've written for a few blogs that either I was doing or a friend was as well as a short stint doing reviews at AntiMusic. Though I'm in America, I don't know if that will hamper things.
  7. I just finished a seven hour session with it after picking it up. It's absolutely fantastic. I was going to do online tonight but got swept up in career mode. I just finished my second defense of the heavyweight belt (beat Lesnar for it). I've got two losses, both came early on in my career so I'm hoping I can still make it to the hall of fame. I stopped career for a bit to do an online match which I lost. I accidentally picked the wrong weight class and didn't know the styles of any of the fighters so I got beat pretty quickly. Online wasn't too laggy which was nice. The guy I played against must be doing nothing but online because his online stats seem to be pretty beefy. If anyone wants to play tomorrow, I'll be online. I knocked out the tough single player achievements which took forever. Especially the knock out a fighter in 20 seconds. I had to do it with Rua because I know his moves the best. I'm trying to get submission of the night to finish that achievement but it seems to be pretty hard to get. I've submitted guys in my last two fights. Hopefully it'll come soon especially since my guy really isn't designed for submission fighting. I decided on boxing and judo which is actually pretty fun to play with. I imagine I'll finish up my current career either tomorrow or the next day and start on number two. Damn good game if I may say so.
  8. I'm getting the game tomorrow night. I'll be doing online for the most part but I'll tool around with career mode a little. I'll post my thoughts after I finish for the night. As far as online goes, if anyone wants to play me, I'm game. My gamertag is in my sig so feel free to add me and we'll have some fun online.
  9. Angels & Demons - 9/10 Spoiler: Click here to viewI enjoyed this a lot more than I did The DaVinci Code. I didn't read the book but it looked good enough for me to go check it out. It's a lot faster paced than DaVinci code but at the same time, the overall pacing of the film is better. I thought these characters were more interesting than their counterparts from DaVinci code (EX: McGregor's McKenna vs. Molina's Aringarosa). I like how they sort of played off of the big twist from DaVinci code by mimicking it then flipping it on it's head at the end of the movie. The nameless (at least I didn't catch a name) pawn in the scheme of things as done really well. Nicely acted though his lines, were a little weak. For a character that whenever he opens his mouth should say something profound, it was a little by the book bad guy for me. Overall, it's not going to be one of those amazing classic movies for all of time, but it's fun and really that's all that matters in a mystery type film.
  10. I guess I missed it, but we're assembling a chart of some sort to give the best examples of bands in the metal sub-genres? If so, I can certainly help out. Also, Jushin, Cannibal Corpse is far from black metal. They would be without a doubt the band that best embodies death metal.
  11. I'm not sure if this counts, but I've always loved "Bother" by Stone Sour.
  12. Since yesterday I've been a UFC Fighter (UFC: Undisputed), a solider in a post apocalyptic war (Gears 2), the general manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers since 1959 (Baseball Mogul 2010), and Arturo Gatti (Fight Night Round 3).
  13. Yeah I spent time today just seeing how badly I could mess Chuck up with just punches and elbows. I had him looking like Arnold at the end of Terminator 2 a few times. I forgot that Rua has two types of elbows from the guard and the ones you throw while pressing LB are nasty as hell. Something of note that really impressed me is that as much as I've been playing (easily over 200 fights by now) I heard new commentary today. I had never heard them talk about getting a mouse over the eye until I really started messing Chuck up.
  14. Yeah I guess THQ qas going to put them in before the car accident then checked with the remaining two guys to see if it was alright to put him in after the fact. There was an article somewhere that talked about it. I got the link off gamefaqs. One thing that I guess has been confirmed that kind of irks me is that you can't have exhibition title matches. That's something I've always enjoyed with the Smackdown games but it's a small grip with what should be a stellar game. I'm eagerly counting down the days until I get it.
  15. I don't mind the TapouT guys being it. Some people may want to play with them, personally I don't but will for the achievement you get for winning a fight with everyone. As for quickest knockout, mine was 14 seconds. It took forever to get it.

    Sitting at gigs

When I have nosebleed seats I tend to sit down during some songs. Though when I saw Tool and was basically touching the ceiling of the building I was up for the whole show. It does depend on the band though. When I saw Yes I sat down the entire time until I walked out half way through the show. If you aren't the kind to pit it up and you aren't on the floor it's really up to you.
  17. I rented Fallout 3 to give it a spin. Haven't played too much so far but I'll be putting in some time on it soon. So far I'm digging it and I imagine if I end up enjoying it a lot I'll just buy it.
  18. I saw the movie earlier tonight so I'll give some brief thoughts. I am not a big superhero fan though I like the Wolverine character and he's one of the few superhero comics that I buy. Though I absolutely hated the X-Men movies. I do think that Jackman does a good job as did Liev Schreiber playing Sabertooth. Gambit is by and far my favorite comic book character along with Cable. They ruined him beyond belief in this movie. The actor was awful and had a terrible accent. I know he was a minor character in the film but come on, get someone decent. Ryan Reynolds is a guilty pleasure of mine. I quite enjoy his work and enjoyed him the bit he was in the film. I hope he plays Deadpool in a full fledged Deadpool movie as that would be amazing in my opinion. I think that as far as the major comic movies go, Deadpool was a fantastic "end boss" type character. Much better than stuff like Venom and the dude in Iron Man. Patrick Stewart looked like a young Asian man in aging make up to make him somewhat resemble Patrick Stewart. I couldn't believe it was actually him. Some of the special effects were pretty "meh". Things that were green screened really shouldn't have been. Like the scene towards the end with Xavier in the woods. Why did that need to be green screened? Just film him in the woods or get a set that looks like real woods. I didn't stay for the endings but I'm pretty sure the one we got was the one that takes place in the bar. I'll just watch them on youtube.
  19. From what I heard, they just gave them a game and stuck a microphone on them and said "start talking". More natural for sure. It'd be great if THQ did the same for Smackdown but I have to imagine their time is more restricted that the guys who do UFC as they aren't on the road constantly.
  20. I guess I might as well pimp mine a little. I play drums for a traditional death metal band that has a little mix of black metal and thrash in it called "Hands of the Plague". We're currently in the middle of recording our first EP (we finish recording this weekend). It'll be out at some point in June, most likely free to whoever wants one. We have two tracks on our myspace right now but one is a sample and the other was when we certainly weren't ready to record. I'll be the first to admit I played horribly on it. Thankfully the new stuff is sounding pretty good. If you want to check us out, go here -> www.myspace.com/handsoftheplague Like I said, our EP will be out in June so if you dig the tracks and want a copy I'll be happy to send one your way.
  21. What I meant by it is that it's just this weird pace that never really goes anywhere. I like Black Sabbath but this is different. Though if you're into that stuff a lot, I'm sure you'll enjoy the album on some level.
  22. Boring. My bud and I were listening to it during a car ride over the weekend. Outside of that "Bible Black" song, they all sound very similar and have an odd slow pace to them. Not my thing I guess.
  23. I dig it, pretty good stuff. I hope more of the newer bands go their route instead of the deathcore route.
  24. Whoa way to take a joke guys. If posting my picture is supposed to show that I know nothing about drumming somehow, I don't get it.
