  1. I really hope there's a secret Klinsmannesque deal in the works. This window has seen one of the most frightening strike forces to one of the weaker ones.
  2. That or fills the same role if he's injured.
  3. Mr Wenger loves little boys though. Worse than Barton.
  4. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK KKKKKKKK I'd hoped that would never come to fruition... So much for pushing the top four again
  5. Presumably while Hughes was playing golf SAF stole his car and posed as Man City club cabby.
  6. I guess if Spurs don't accept an offer (though we've got the 30m apparently) from Manure and he wants out City is the only way.
  7. I hope the Heskey news is bullshit. Berba out Heskey in? Obscurity beckons
  8. Alas I remember it well it started an unhealthy habit of looking out for new channels and watching for the first advert or song... What a shitty life I had...
  9. Well Pompey also have the smallest stadium in the Premiership so surely it would make sense to have the lowest attendances?
  10. Redknapp is the finest pundit in the world for stupid statements at the moment. Everyone does it but I love his comments like "That man is LITERALLY dying out there". You could make a two hour dvd of his cock ups.
  11. We deserved the win in the end. It's a good result though and we'd have taken that. Yet again Chelsea failed to beat us and the first half we didn't even play that well. How hard was Webb trying to help out Terry and co there? Giving freekicks for nothing, giving corners rather than handballs in the area, not giving the offside which led to the Chelsea goal and just general incompitence. I still can't believe these men are paid for that job.
  12. Windass is one of those old hands who are great for the squad but won't give a full season at the top. I think Campbell will do a good job there, though I still suspect it's a losing battle despite wanting them to do well. Spurs signed a Russian at last. Not AA but an out and out striker which was more of a priority.
  13. I can't believe the knights didn't have full command group. I never leave home without it, still one of those moments worth actually playing the game for. I've lost count of the number of epic games of FM & EU3 I've had. Most recent FM 2008 one FA cup final against Arsenal as Championship Stevenage. Gooners run into a two-nil lead, Henry with a brace. I throw on James Fletcher, 17 year old England U21 striker and demand to see more of the team, Fletcher gets one straight after the break and Roberto Palacios (Costa Rica FTW!) get us level on 80. Fabregas nets a third for them on 85 before Fletcher nets a brace on 90 and 91 to steal the cup. I've since started shocking this season but don't mean diddly. Stevenage in Europe.
  14. I would include Slaying The Dreamer by Nightwish were it more popular. I think it was only an album track but it has that strong steady riff through most of it like most of the classic metal had and from Nightwish it's kind of a pleasant surprise. They're not exactly riff based guitar heavy metal but it passes for me. Even though you'll all hate it
  15. What about his halfline screamer against Man Yoo at Old Trafford. Will go down as one of the finest goals not given ever.
  16. An obvious one but Championship Manager for aging well... Principally because it's barely changed since dot to the present day. Of course, people will always play the more recent incarnation but you could always go back to an older version and slip straight into it without any problems. Same for the Civ games, you can go back to the early ones and graphical progress means squat, they have the same core and all can still be played to death. We'll go for the latest incarnation but you can go back and still have a bally good time. Those that haven't aged well... Hard to think of anything in my collection, a lot of the ones I think of were pretty crap to begin with but got a few hours because they were there. A few of the earlier 3D graphic based games to me, the graphics didn't age well and colision detection was shite. That said you still get that plenty in lesser games now...
  17. Love Chelski fans, within 5 minutes of booing the team, informing Avram he was unaware of what he was doing and requesting a return of the manager they demanded was relieved of his position in the first plkace they are full of it. They're bigger cunts then the gooners.
  18. I'm surprised at that fallout. In our GAME it was impossible to walk in there without getting racks dedicated to it and video footage of the game on the monitors just inaside the door. Was annoying since you couldn't find anything else for the PS3 but the chart games they'd taken up so much space. Mind you t'other day when we went in there were still plenty of copies of Fifa Street on the shelf... in preowned.

    Gigs for 2008

Had Turisas a couple of weeks ago where I've managed to pull a muscle, they were supported by Alestorm who were a great laugh. Part of the reason I'm going to Bloodstock later this year. Also part of that deal arte Nightwish, whom one is going to see next Tuesday, hopefully teh knee will be a little better by then...
  20. The Nightwish cover of that didn't drive me to murder that much, they tried to tone down the guitar solos by shifting some of the song to keyboards which was bloody stupid but it was nowhere near as bad as so many covers out there. After all the worst Nightwish related atrocity was Tarja, she's done covers of both Smells like Teen Spirit and Poison. Part of me liked that she hadn't done a straight up copy of them but the more I thought about it the more I thought she should've just left them untouched. Then again, she did say to me that she'd never intended for SLTS to be filmed performing that one for fun at a fashion thing, oh well... *seconds the Lavigne hatred*
  21. Disney Channel went through a fad over here of making loads of true story films a few years back. Damned if I remember any of them by name now though I remember one about female twins playing basket ball and some anorexic gymnast (played by the orignal pink ranger). The then missus lapped all that true drama crap up.
  22. I vaguely remember Rob Cooper (guy who made the Chart Wars games) saying he was planning a band management sim, lost interest so don't know what has happened with that one...
