  1. After watching the Blind Spot episode of Justified with guest star Ray McKinnon (also formerly of Deadwood fame) I am now positive that he was born to star in a Townes Van Zandt Biopic.
  2. Opening: Where I Lead Me by Townes Van Zandt Closing Credits: None But The Rain by Townes Van Zandt
  3. Life on Mars. But perhaps that is because I have a warm and somewhat surreal memory that involves the song... After a particularly heavy night of drinking, I woke up in my friend Randy's attic and I heard this song blasting from below me. I worked my way down to the kitchen, and then through the living room-- stepping over another good friend who was passed out on the floor-- and eventually into Randy's room. He was passed out asleep in his bed with porn on 3 different screens (laptop, desktop, and tv) and Life on Mars was playing on his stereo and it had just hit my favorite part so I belted out, 'TAKE A LOOK AT THE LA-AW MAN BEAT-ING UP THE WRONG GUY', in a terrible Bowie impression, just about as loud as I could, thus waking a terrified Randy. We all had a good long laugh about it. We then proceeded to get all day drunk, passed out on his apartment building front lawn, and eventually went sailing... and randomly throughout the day belted out that line.
  4. You'd be about a billion times cooler if you were Cloud Barton.

  5. Russell "The Stringer" Bell? Who made this list, Mike Adamle?
  6. Here are the teaser trailers for the aforementioned shows for those interested. I can't get over how slick the combat in the Iron Man clip looks. I hope they redesign Wolverine's look before the actual show. I can get over the mullet, but the long Mandarinesque finger nails and thin arms aren't becoming of everyone's favorite berserk-er. Also, a question for more ardent Cable fans, what the heck is the status of his powers right now? He keeps being depowered and repowered and after reading Messiah War I am really unsure what the deal is. Also, if he has been traveling time long enough for Hope to mature into early adulthood, why hasn't he aged? I imagine there isn't an explanation for the latter, but hey, it's worth asking.
  7. http://wutangvsthebeatles.bandcamp.com/ You can download the album for free from the site above and I recommend you do. Stand out tracks include, Da Mystery of Chess Boxin', Uzi (Pinky Ring), and a version of Baby, I Got Ya Money mashed with You Never Give Me Your Money.
  8. Has anyone seen the trailer's for the anime Wolverine and Ironman shows that Marvel is working on? I think the Wolvie one is being written by Warren Ellis. I am excited to see what comes of them. The Ironman trailer looked amazing... the Wolvie one... well, it looked different.
  9. Antwon Mitchell wasn't on The Wire. He was on The Shield.
  10. An almighty uppercut? Okay, my new goal in life is to start a band named Dolph Lundgren and the Almighty Uppercuts.
  11. 1. William Cutting, aka Bill The Butcher (Gangs of New York) One of my all time favorite characters, period, from one of my all time favorite movies. 2. Stansfield (The Professional) - Gary Oldman, 'nuff said. 3. Captain Vidal (Pans Labyrinth) - The very real, very human evil in a film full of fantasy. His first actions in the opening of the film 4. Clarence Bodiccker (RoboCop) - "Bitches leave." Who would have guessed Red from That 70's show was capable of such good ol' fashioned mad bastardry? 5. The Joker (TDK) - Heath Ledger's amazing performance has been covered to death, so I won't retread what others have said here. 6. Frank Booth (Blue Velvet) - Heineken? HEINEKEN?! Fuck that shit! PABST, BLUE, RIBBON. 7. T-1000 (Terminator 2) - Simply an iconic villain. I was legitimately afraid of the T-1000. I remember watching this movie as a child and being shocked when he slowly stabbed Sarah Connor in the shoulder. At ten years old, I had never actually seen the bad guy hurt a good guy like that before. 8. Ethan Zoebelle (Sons of Anarchy) - 9. (Training Day) 10. (Die Hard)
  12. 1. Rescue Me 2. Sons of Anarchy 3. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia 4. The League 5. Dexter 6. True Blood 7. Venture Bros. 8. Curb Your Enthusiasm 9. Californication 10. Community
  13. I just finished reading that interview before coming over to the board and...
  14. Gay Bar by Electric Six. I always seem to be caught singing it by someone who has never heard the song and it youtube isn't readily accessible it usually leads to some awkward conversation.
  15. I can only beat the final boss in Arcade mode by using Lei and some disgraceful, underhanded tactics. SERPENT STRIKE. SERPENT STRIKE. SERPENT STRIKE. REPEAT~! But I love this game. My roommates and I have been destroying each other with every incarnation of this game since we lived in the dorms. It is one of the ultimate shit talking games and we've started settling disputes like who runs to the store for TP, does the dishes, or drops off our rent to the landlord who got all pissed about the car parked on the front lawn the day after our Halloween party with battles.
  16. Dennis Leary was on the Tonight Show a few nights back and he mentioned that there are only going to be two more seasons of Rescue Me. That feels about right as far as ending the series before it out stays its welcome, but more importantly, it brings about some interesting questions. Will we finally find out if Tommy is really seeing ghosts? Will Tommy survive the show? Will he end up with one of his crazy women? Rescue Me is by far my favorite show on television and as bummed as I will be to see it go off the air I am very excited for the shows last two seasons.
  17. Different strokes I guess, and I am aware that I am in the minority in my opinion of Way but I've enjoyed most everything he has done from the Weapon X family.
  18. The concept of Good Realtor, Bad Realtor has changed my life. From this point forward I'm going to use Good Cop, Bad Cop tactics with every endeavor that involves a tandem.
  19. Cade, definitely follow TGC's advice on Peter David's X-Factor. It is a great little corner of the Marvel Universe and while it does overlap with the major storylines (WWH, Civil War, Messiah Complex) from time to time, it never really lets them highjack the series' driving force: gritty character based drama. TGC covered a lot of what make the series so great. Personally, I think two of Peter David's greatest talents are, one, his ability to take B-list characters and getting you to care about them as if they were A-lister's, and two, having a tremendous imagination in terms of ways to use his character's abilities. I mean, Maddrox has one of the least defined powers of any Marvel character and for David really explores them. I have fallen a little behind in the series but I am told that Darwin and Longshot have recently joined the team and that really excites me in that both of the aforementioned characters could flourish under his penning. Again both have fairly undefined powers and, especially in Darwin's case, aren't particularly established characters. Edit: Also, I think that this would make a great show if Marvel ever wanted to venture into live action television again. Heck, maybe when Dollhouse is inevitably canceled they can even get Joss Whedon to write the project! Edit: Also, I can't believe some people don't like Daniel Way's current run on Deadpool! I love his characterization of Wade's madness and the art is the best Wilson has ever had on a solo book.
  20. This is a little off topic but this thread caused the string of thought that lead me to it, but I'd love to see Gerard Butler make a cameo somewhere down the road as Marvel's version of Hercules. To brings us back, remotely to topic I leave you with this awesome image...
  21. So I am putting together a mix for a buddy of mine who just went through a breakup with his long time girlfriend. He was my roommate for about half of college and I think he was dating this girl most of that time so, naturally, he has been taking it pretty hard. In any event I want him to come back out on the prowl with me the next couple of weekends, and I am putting together this mix to get his mind in the right place. Now I am not really looking for Glassjaw, Lovebites and Razorlines, level of DIE DIE EVIL WOMAN! I am more looking for Danzig, She Rides, level of EVIL WOMAN BEWARE I AM ONTO YOUR SCHEME type of music to get him ready to join me in my mission to slay skank monsters with my chainsaw dick. So what do you think EWB? (Also first person to suggest ELO gets a pretend chop to the throat.)
  22. The idea of seeing Cable down the road is pretty cool, though he definitely has one of the most convoluted back story's in all of the Marvel Universe... which is saying a lot. It would be interesting to see how they could transfer the character to film-- what they'd drop and what they'd change etc... Also, Ron Perlman would rock that role pretty hard, but part of me would love Kurt Russell in the role. But then I'd watch Kurt Russell in just about anything, playing just about anything. [/mancrush] But anyhow, this Deadpool project has me more excited than any comic film has ever gotten me. Deadpool has long been one of my favorite characters, and the number of directions they can take the Merc with a Mouth is near limitless. He is like Bugs Bunny with katanas!
  23. Rod Stewart is actually covering Tom Waits there... BLASPHEMER.
