    Greatest band names

Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem will always be my favorite band name of all time. MUPPETS FTW.
  3. On vinyl to celebrate his coming to town in a few days for a concert of folksy epicness.
  4. I am not a big Will Smith fan. I enjoy some of his films but I tend to think that he over extends himself as an actor. His dramatic work often comes across flat to me. That being said when he is out there being Will Smith in some stupid action comedy I find him watchable. The idea of him in a remake of Oldboy makes me cringe though. Spoiler: Click here to view I SEXED MY DAUGHTER? AH HELL NAH.
  5. Agreed, while I think that it is certainly stylized enough visually to transfer over, I think a lot of what makes the characters work would be lost--not to mention some of the best parts of the series like Olive breaking into song wouldn't translate over very well either.

    Album of the year

This thread needs more love for...
  7. 1. Elvis Presley 2. Danzig 3. Frank Sinatra 4. Johnny Cash 5. Bruce Springsteen 6. Tom Waits 7. Robbie Williams 8. Jim Morrison 9. Raine Maida 10. Van Morrison
  8. Ernest Miller also popped into a frame. Clearly this movie is Oscar bound. >_>
  9. That Springsteen song is pretty sweet too.
  10. For a better submission, I am a fan of the SLC Punk opener. Red neck beat down followed by Punk Poster styled credits that set the town for the movie. Oh, and Matthew Lillard before he sucked donkey dick. Not a bad combination.
  11. Fuck yes. That is a great story. I have everything the man has put out for spoken word. My first live show was The Rollins Band headlining a show opened by the Butthole Surfers. It was fucking dynamite. Also on the subject of Iggy Pop, I think it should be required by law that everyone is forced to watch this video once a day. If everyone was as excited to be alive as Iggy Pop is, the world would suck a lot less.

The Misfits go without speaking, but Glenn Danzig's solo work certainly ought to be picked through. Here is my Halloween shortlist... 1. The Misfits - Halloween I 2. The Misfits - Halloween II 3. Elvis Costello - Spooky Girlfriend 9. Danzig - Am I Demon? 10. Dio - Evil Eyes 11. Danzig - Heart of the Devil 12. Filter - One 13. The Cure - Lullaby 14. X - Crystal Ship 15. Robert Johnson - Me And The Devil Blues
  14. Paul Newman was on of my all time favorite actors and someone who was tapped into the pulse of life. He used his celebrity for a greater good, and he was one hell of a talent. I actually met Paul in 2004 when he filmed the movie Empire Falls in my hometown. I was actually in the movie as an extra and one day he and Ed Harris came and had lunch with us at the craft services table. He was one of the most interesting people I've ever met and one of easiest conversationalist. He was just cool. Dragline said it about Luke and I am saying it about Paul: "Hell, he was a natural-born world-shaker."
  15. 5 Artists, and the songs in order of play count in my Itunes. 16. I second the Chet Baker love. Grab his Prince of Cool double disc collection-- one half is instrumental and the other is with him singing.
  17. I wasn't sure where to put this but David Foster Wallace died. Infinite Jest is one of my all time favorite books. Go buy it. Go read it.
  18. Neutral Milk Hotel... in that they just stopped. They put out two great albums in a very short period of time and then got all Salinger.
  19. Bill Hicks had such a unique dynamic on stage and in life that would lend itself very well to drama. Moments like the 'Freebird Incident' or anytime he attacked a heckler seemed like they should have been taking place in a film rather than reality. I'd love to see a smart movie that showed this genius struggling to connect and contextualize his message with the populace.
  20. When they make a movie about my life, Morgan Freeman is the actor I want to play me.
  21. Hasn't Christian Bale been quoted as saying something to the ilk of, "The day I see Robin in the script is the day I hang up my cape?" I am paraphrasing at best. EDIT: Found the quote “If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I ’ll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work.” - Christian Bale
  22. I am hoping for a secondary villain who can can challenge Batman physically in the next film. I for one am not on the bandwagon that hates Nolan's from the shadows camera work on fight scenes; it works for the narrative of Batman, but that being said I'd like to see someone who can offer a more sustainable fight scene. I want someone who pushes Batman to his limits before Bruce picks him apart. I think it is too early for Bane, and I don't think Crock will ever make it onto the silver screen while Nolan helms. Still though, I'd like to see someone of their physical prowess in the next film.
