  1. http://www.secondspin.com/ A friend of mine referenced me to this website a while back when I inherited a couple hundred CD's from my Grandfather. I picked through the good stuff to keep but I ended up just taking the crap to the shop in town. Still I hear this site is decent.
  2. I've liked alot of the stuff that has already been listed, but one under appreciated gem would be K's Choice.
  3. Terry Tsurugi > Capcom Streetfighter.
  4. Hmm, I assume you mean New Frontier, not Final Frontier. After a quick wiki search I think I might try to pick up New Frontier in conjunction with the animated film that is buried in my Netflix queue. Gotham By Gaslight also looks pretty enticing... Has anyone read Batman Year 100? So far I've heard mixed reviews on the title.
  5. It is funny that this thread came up as just about a week ago my co-worker left this album at the store and it reintroduced me to the hilarity that is Lounge Against the Machine.
  6. I've been reading a lot of DC's Elseworlds imprints lately and it has been a fantastic little excursion. I took a little while away from comics and reading this non-canonical stuff has been a great way to ease back into things without jumping in all at once. It all started with re-reading Miller's Darknight-verse stuff, then grabbing Superman Red Son, and the Batman and Dracula trilogy from the local comic shop. I've been thinking about JLA: The Nail, Batman Year 100, or Generations (if I am feeling really ambitious), as my next purchases for this trend but was wondering what you guys thought about them? Are they any good? Which is best? Is there something better I should be looking for?

    The Clash

For me Rudie Can't Fail will always be up there with the finest songs by the Clash. It might not have the weight of The Guns of Brixton or London Calling, but it captures the style of the band; it has the distinctive and seamless blending of pop, soul, and reggae. It will always be my ultimate 'Summer song' as well.
  9. The Back to the Future movies, The Indiana Jones movies, Ghostbusters I & II... I'd probably load up on some Batman TAS too.

    Soundtracks

Trainspotting- Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, New Order. Dead Presidents- Al Green, Curtis Mayfield et cetera... High Fidelity- Stevie Wonder, The Kinks, Smog, Velvet Underground, Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan...
  11. I submit a line from Above the Law. Here are its creds: * Written, Starring, and Directed by Steven Seagal * He plays a cop with a black belt in Akido, who has CIA covert training from the Vietnam War, and his family is the mafia. I swear, I didn't make any of that up. * His partner is played by Pam Grier. * There is a C4 explosion/massacre in a church... during mass. And now the quote in all its glory... [after stopping Salvano's truck, the police open the secret compartment, and find little square packages instead of drugs] Detective Lukich: What the hell kind of high is this? Nico Toscani: Sky-high.

  15. Your friends should suck an Alfred Hitchcock. I just watched The 39 Steps earlier today and just like everything that he did it was a delight.

    Blues Rock

To narrow in on something already mentioned get your hands on South Saturn Delta by Jimi Hendrix. Truly great stuff.
  17. I've been looking all over and can't find it, but are they streaming this bad boy from anywhere? I have to work tonight.
  18. Considering what we've seen from Brock Lesnar in the past I was shocked to see him so humble in his post match speech. Brock dominated early, but I think he got way too over confident. Had he not landed the punches to the back of the head causing the early break who knows what would have happened. Either way I like where this could lead if he stays the course and gets some polishing as a fighter. Not many people can lose a fight in 90 seconds and still come away looking dominant.
  19. I think it is important to note that he chose to make Wild Wild West over the Matrix.

    Your Playlists...

Because my shiftmate and I are huge losers we tend to bring in playlists to work that we talk about as the night progresses, and then come up with a new topic for the next week. Examples include a playlist called Life and Death, where all the song titles contain Life, Live, Living, Death, Die, Dying in the title. Other's have been Heaven and Hell with similar rules, and your typical best of *insert decade, artist, or genre* lists. Well after over a year of doing this we made a 40 song playlist that capped off the last year where you put your be-all-end-all song for whatever category was listed. We had everything from theme song for a tv show about your life, to best song to fuck to. My favorite topic so far has been a trifecta of lists that was called 'While trying to get the girl at the bar,' 'Once you have her,' 'and after,' that we hot fingered into each other so it would play one song from each category... Example: Kiss Me I am Shit Faced by Dropkick Murphy, I Like It Raw by ODB, HIV Song by Ween. But after all this we are running low on ideas, so I turn to you to see what type of theme lists you've employed over your time as media-fanatics. So once again EWB I send you a call to arms, what do you have for your beloved Grifterman?
  21. I've noticed that James Marsden's character gets shafted in every movie. X-Men: His girl has a thing for another guy, she kills him. The Notebook: His girl has a thing for another guy, she leaves him. Superman: His girl has a thing for another guy, he is raising his son.
  22. The guy I work with brought in disc one of WWE Anthology... I would never buy it myself, but man it has entertained the fuck out of me tonight.
