Well, that's totally fair, I'd say. I was probably a little drawn in by most of the negative comments I'd seen on some other gaming sites, which, coming to think about it, is more or less all you see in the comments sections of such sites at the best of times.

Yeah, but I generally get the feeling that most people who were going to buy the game would have bought it already. I know that's not universally the case, but I can't see this new version appealing to a huge new audience unless it's released at a budget price, which most 'expanded' versions of games aren't.
  3. If I go, I'll probably get a day ticket for Saturday.

WWE 12: Wrestlemania Edition has been announced for a May launch. It's just the original WWE 12 game with all the downloadable wrestlers, which seems rather pointless to anyone but those who wanted the DLC but weren't prepared to buy the actual game, if such people exist.

    Sonisphere UK 2012

It's looking very likely now. The BBC has reported on the rumours, quoting a statement of cancellation from the official Queen website.

    Sonisphere UK 2012

Shocking if it's true, but I can't help but feel the organisers shot themselves in the foot by waiting so long to make the first band announcement. Download made its first announcement around three months beforehand, and that's now apparently sold a record number of tickets by this stage of the sales process. Still, Thrash Hits have been known to drop a few clangers before, such as their insistence that Tool were going to headline Download last year, but this is a much larger kettle of fish.
  7. I worked part-time at one of the unlucky GAME shops to get the chop (we actually closed last month, before this week's huge wave of closures) and I can vouch for anyone saying that there are plenty of customers who build up huge amounts of store credit without being avid followers of the gaming industry itself. We had several loyal customers who came in every week to purchase games on a whim, usually after quickly glancing at the blurb on the back of the box, but who didn't even have Internet access at home, let alone follow the ongoing economic company struggles on a daily basis. Most of these people would save their credit for Christmas and birthday presents for their friends and relatives, which is why they never used to spend it. To say that they were gutted would be an understatement, but they generally ended up being the first to wish us well in the future, unlike some of the clowns trying to barter for extra discount because they knew the shop was closing.
  8. Firewind and Europe make this announcement for me! Me too. I've also heard almost universally bad things about Theory of a Deadman's performances on the recent Alter Bridge/Black Stone Cherry tour, so it might be wise to avoid them.
  9. 12 more bands are set to be announced on Wednesday.

    South Park

I quite liked this episode. As everyone else has said, it wasn't an absolute classic, but it certainly had a touch of the characteristic South Park silliness that I love so much. As a season premiere, it might not have been outstanding, but I'd say that the first episodes of the last few series haven't exactly been brilliant either. I think the last premiere I really, really liked was back in Season 11, and I've found the ones that have followed to be some of the weakest episodes of their respective runs.
  11. I don't think SI ever implements injury updates into the patches, although I'm not sure where I first read that.
  12. Red Dead Redemption is more or less a spiritual sequel to Red Dead Revolver. They share a similar setting, but I'm almost certain the stories aren't linked, except maybe for an Easter egg here and there that I'm unaware of. As for the zombies, that would be the add-on pack, Undead Nightmare, for Red Dead Redemption. That's a separate adventure with the same characters as Red Dead Redemption, but with a slightly different style of play.
  13. In the past few months, I've had customers ranting on about consumer rights over such matters as being unable to purchase Mario Kart 7 on the Xbox 360, being refused a full refund for a used, fully working game they bought two months ago on the grounds that they "thought it was crap", or because their attempts to convince me to sell them a new Xbox 360 bundle for £100 were unsuccessful. The public truly is wonderful.
  14. This seems to be a decent price for a 320GB model with Batman: Arkham City. You can also get the same deal with Final Fantasy XIII-2. I know it's normal to raise an eyebrow or two over an eBay deal, but it's the official outlet of Shopto, a well-respected online games retailer. This is actually the second time I've pimped Shopto today. Just to clarify, I don't work for them (yet).
  15. Chances are it'll be almost impossible to get into the tent for Corey Taylor's set anyway unless you miss half the rest of the day's bands on the other stages to queue up.
  16. It's been revealed that Corey Taylor won't be clashing with Metallica as the third stage closes before Metallica begin their set. That means that Corey will be clashing with Biffy Clyro instead.
  17. I'll have you know that having your knees bitten smarts like a bitch.
  18. Aaaand ordered. I am personally holding you responsible if it doesn't turn up a day early, Bobfoc. I suggest you make your peace with god and your family on the 8th, just in case. Looks promising though, they even have a thing on the website saying they'll try their best to get the game to you on release day. I hope it works out for you, not only because I value my safety, but also because I've pre-ordered from Shopto as well. It would be just my luck that the one time my faith is misplaced happens to be the time I'm being held personally responsible.
  19. All my pre-orders from Shopto have arrived a day early, so I'll vouch for them right now.
  20. If we're talking about the Blu-Ray versions, Vader's infamous cry of "Noooooooooooo!" from the end of Revenge of the Sith has been haphazardly tacked on to the redemption scene in Return of the Jedi.
  21. Actually, Download is now set to be the only Black Sabbath show of the 2012 tour, with every other set having been downgraded to "Ozzy and Friends". That's not to say that the same fate won't meet Sabbath's Download set if Tony Iommi can't make it, but that's how it stands right now.
  22. That's good news. Shinedown really impressed me when I saw them in 2009.
  23. I know that the whole "must be an English manager" doctrine is the in-thing right now, but what about Guus Hiddink? He seems to be the international go-to guy and is currently out of a job.
  24. Sad news about Kilby, capping off a horrible week after Nigel Doughty's death.
