  1. Have they announced when each band will play?
  2. This season has been getting worse by the day for Forest. Even though I'm a Notts County supporter, I'm very fond of Forest and find this news absolutely sickening. The club hasn't been doing well financially during the last few years, but Nigel Doughty's financial input has kept them afloat. Unless something dramatic happens now, the club's future is looking very, very bleak.
  3. I don't think it will have too much of an effect. While LA Noire's motion capture technology is impressive, the non-verbal "cues" that push you in the right direction during cases are far from subtle. Because the motion capture animations were pulled off by using real actors, their expressions e.g. shifty eyes, not making eye contact are exaggerated to the extent that they would be easy to pick up on without the benefit of the best possible graphical settings.
  4. I might end up going for a day (probably Sunday by the looks of things at the moment), but I doubt I'll be able to do the whole weekend. The whole lineup looks very promising at the moment, though, so I can only hope that it continues in this vein.
  5. That lineup will be hard for any other UK festival to beat this year as far as I'm concerned. They'd better make sure that Metallica and Tenacious D's sets don't overlap too much, though, or there will be a lot of unhappy campers.
  6. I was really taken aback when I saw the headline on the BBC website. I'm not Welsh and have never been a Newcastle supporter, but I always enjoyed watching him play. The Welsh national side has come on leaps and bounds over the last few months under his management and, as someone already mentioned in this thread, he seemed to be in reasonably good spirits on Football Focus recently, so this news is all the more painful to hear. Terrible, terrible news, not only for his friends and family, but for football in general.

Funnily enough, I was just thinking earlier today about how I'd like to see that exact scenario unfold in real life.

From what I've read from those who got the game early, RTWM seems to be the weakest aspect of the game. Apparently, a lot of the challenges can be either uninspired and tedious or frustrating and unintuitive. Personally, I'll wait until I play the game before I pass judgement, but it probably bothers me less than many other people because I wasn't particularly interested in the RTWM mode to begin with.
  9. The ending of "Blackadder Goes Forth" deserves a place in this thread.
  10. Season Mode was reasonably fun, not because it was particularly well made but because it let you drop anvils on your enemies' heads backstage between matches.
  11. Wasn't that fixed in IV? If you fail a mission you can redo it by pressing some button on your cellphone. That's true, but I'm fairly sure that you still lost all your weapons/armour if you used that method. They made it slightly more lenient in the DLC episodes, but I think RDR's model works best.
  12. I really hope that they implement Red Dead Redemption's checkpoint system into this new game. I've had great fun with GTA over the years, but its most frustrating aspect has always been the whole "drive across city to receive mission briefing; watch cutscene in which said debriefing is given; repeat entire process once you fail the mission" rigmarole. It always broke the flow of the game for me and was the main reason that I found it difficult to engage with the storylines.
  13. Terrible news. I'm not a huge MotoGP fan, but I dip into it from time to time, so I was familiar with Simoncelli. Such a horrible thing to happen at any time, but especially after Wheldon's accident last weekend.
  14. Under the "Steam" option in the top-left corner of the Steam client, there should be a "Go Offline" option.
  15. Further details on multiplayer mode Basically, the co-op missions won't feature any established characters and instead allow you to play as a variety of different species. Although the co-op mode will affect the progression of the single-player storyline, it's said by Bioware to be "optional" and not essential for the full completion of the story.

  17. McClaren staying on for the sake of millions of pounds in compensation as a result of being sacked? Sounds awfully familiar.
  18. True, and I could definitely envisage him going elsewhere before too long. If Harry Redknapp ends up becoming England boss at the end of the season, as has been so widely speculated, I'm sure Poyet would be near the top of Tottenham's list of potential replacements.
  19. I think you're talking about one of the Christmas specials, which was called "Black Canary".
  20. Whether he gets sacked soon or not, it's definitely not doing McClaren's reputation any favours, especially in England, where he was hardly the most popular of figures anyway. Interesting point on his lack of ability as a disciplinarian as well. A lot of people seemed to view his as a decent cultivator of youth during his time as assistant manager at Man United, but he has never seemed nearly as capable as being the man in charge. Perhaps it was the same situation when he was England's assistant manager under Sven, a time at which there seemed to be more harmony within the team than there was when he took over as coach. Maybe he's just a guy who's better suited to a role as a coach or assistant manager than as the main man at the helm of a club or nation. I know he did a good job at Twente, but that was only for one season and, despite winning the League Cup with Middlesbrough, they seemed to be in a worrying state of decline before McClaren left to manage England. With all that said, though, it'd be hard to envisage any major teams wanting to take him on in a non-management role, and the smaller clubs probably couldn't justify his probable wage demands for a similar position. Assuming things don't turn around quickly at Forest, this could end up being his last job in English football. As for Forest, I wonder how well Sean O'Driscoll would fare as manager. It wasn't long ago that he was considered one of the best young managers in the English league, and he's certainly demonstrated an ability to work on a small budget. Now that he's been sacked by Doncaster, I think that Forest could do much worse than giving him a look.
  21. Considering the discontent with the Forest board that's been evident under the last several managers, I wonder who would want to replace him if he did go. Under Billy Davies, Forest were a solid, cohesive unit that just lacked the extra edge that some decent squad investment might have brought, and getting rid of him seems to have been another poor decision on the part of the board. Yes, Billy was temperamental and abrasive, but at least he got significantly more out of his players than McClaren has so far. Their options seem to be either to stick with McClaren and risk falling even further into the relegation scrap or to get rid of him and hope that any half-decent manager would be prepared to deal with all the internal nonsense that has helped hold the club back for the last decade.
  22. It'll be 1600 Microsoft Points and whatever the rough equivalent on PSN happens to be. If you're a Playstation Plus subscriber, though, you can get it for half the price, with a similar deal in place for Code Veronica.
  23. Don't worry, you can marry a new wife in the game. You can even have a same-sex marriage in the game if you want to try something new.
