  1. Sir, are you suggested that the British media is somewhat fickle? Perish the thought! I would never suggest that our fine, upstanding journalists and fans would ever unduly criticise that tantrum-throwing, English-hating, baby-eating mongrel Murray. After all, the pure, mild-mannered Englishman, Tim Henman, was treated so much better.
  2. I definitely agree with you on Murray. Most of the bandwagon fans will never respect him unless he wins Wimbledon and, even if he did, he'd still get plenty of flak if he didn't then go on to win it every single year after that. It's a shame because, during the twilight years of the careers of both Henman and Rusedski, most British tennis fans would have killed to have another player in the top 50, let alone a top-5 player who's reached three Grand Slam finals and won several Masters Series events. I'm sure those same critics would suddenly become his biggest fans if he won a Slam, only to turn on him once again the next time he lost in a major tournament.
  3. Murray has actually been as high as second, albeit for a very short period of time. At the moment, though, I think he's significantly behind the top three in terms of ranking points.
  4. It looks as though we could be heading for an extremely interesting US hard court season. Djokovic is obviously the man to beat now, so it will be interesting to see how he copes with the pressure of trying to win the US Open for the first time whilst carrying the burden of being the favourite, not to mention the possibility of fatigue setting in after a long season. Nadal, the defending champion, will be particularly keen to take the final Slam of the year in order to halt Djokovic's dominance, but the hard courts represent arguably his weakest surface. Federer, despite being overshadowed by Nadal and Djokovic at the moment, is still playing reasonably well. Before his quarter-final defeat at Wimbledon, I thought he was playing better than anyone else in the tournament, and he also holds the distinction of being the only man to beat Djokovic so far this year. With less pressure on him than in previous years, he could still pose a huge threat. Murray is also playing well, but he still needs that little extra something to push him to the very elite level of the game. He's undoubtedly a hard court specialist, though, and the US Open should offer his best opportunity for Grand Slam success. Outside the fabled "Big Four", Del Potro appears to be gathering fitness all the time. I definitely think he could be a big contender by the time the US Open comes around, and he should be the man that all the top players will want to avoid before the semi-finals. I'm also intrigued to see how the likes of Tomic and Tsonga perform after their runs at Wimbledon, especially if any of the top performers suffer injuries or fatigue before the final stages. With any luck, it should all shape up nicely for an enthralling, open contest.
  5. Bobfoc I have a lot of Steam games, but most of them are of the single-player variety. I would be open to the likes of Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 online if anyone was interested, though.
  6. I'm fairly sure that you just have to have Warlords installed for its content to load into your games. You can then start the game using the Beyond the Sword launcher and everything from both expansions should be in place.
  7. I prefer Civ IV with both expansion packs added into the equation, but Civ V is definitely a lot of fun. The developers have already released several patches and updates as well, meaning that the game should theoretically continue to improve and develop.
  8. The Valve Complete Pack is a fantastic deal for anyone who doesn't already own most of the games. Looking at the trends set by previous sales, it's also probably fairly safe to assume that such games/series as Civilization, Left 4 Dead, Portal, Half-Life, Torchlight, Trine and Bioshock will be part of the daily deals at some stage during the next few days.
  9. A Steam summer sale is heavily rumoured to be on the horizon at some point in the next few days, so it would definitely be advisable to wait on any potential purchases in case a deal comes up. Portal and Civ 5 have been on sale several times before, so you could almost guarantee that they would be discounted again at some stage.
  10. I haven't heard any talk about Nadal faking his injury, although I wouldn't doubt that somebody somewhere might be wildly speculating about it. Speaking of Nadal, the BBC website is reporting that early signs suggest that the injury is looking less serious than was feared yesterday, and that Nadal should be able to play tomorrow. The official result of the scan has still not been confirmed, though.
  11. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if Mahut vs Isner was on Centre Court. All joking aside, it's bound to attract a big crowd.
  12. Boston United in the Blue Square North could be an interesting challenge. You could try to get them back in the Football League and beyond, but without any of the corruption that tainted them under Steve Evans. You'd have to deal with a small budget and a team of semi-pro players, which should make things interesting from a financial standpoint.
  13. The original Wii was quickly hacked in order to allow it to play DVDs, so it wouldn't surprise me if the modding community did something similar with the WiiU within a brief period of time.
  14. Looks decent to me. Thanks for that.
  15. I should probably make one of those lists, if only to sort out which bands I might have to miss due to clashes. Speaking of clashes, the stage times are now on the line-up page on the main website, so the real planning can now begin.
  16. HD remakes of Metal Gear Solid 2, 3 and Peace Walker have now been announced for the PS3 and Xbox 360, along with Zone of the Enders 1 and 2. Silent Hill 2 and 3 will also be given the HD treatment, although the platforms have not been confirmed yet.
  17. An Xbox 360 version of the game will be released on 15th November 2011, as confirmed at a CD Projekt conference earlier today.
  18. Collapse, Dave McPherson, Intraverse, The Last Republic, Never Means Maybe, Sons of Icarus, Trucker Diablo and Welcome Wednesday have also been added. On top of that, the stage times should be announced next Monday, according to Andy Copping.
  19. Ico is getting an HD re-release on the PS3, alongside Shadow of the Colossus.
  20. A press release issued earlier today has confirmed that Panic Button and Majesco will team up to bring out a new Kinect-based Xbox 360 game entitled "Hulk Hogan's Main Event". Few concrete details have been released, but the press release states thatthe game "lets players train with mentor Hulk Hogan as they build their own wrestling personalities and learn the art of showmanship to win over the crowd." Press Release And who said that Kinect didn't cater for the hardcore crowd?
  21. He was also quoted as saying that those buying the game ought to be paying even more, and that they should be grateful for the current state of affairs.
  22. I find games that don't have solid checkpoint systems annoying. I'm mainly talking about the Grand Theft Auto games, in which, upon failing a mission, you have to drive halfway across the city just to restart the mission. Thankfully, Red Dead Redemption had a better checkpoint system, so I'm hopeful that the next GTA instalment will follow suit.
  23. I hope they actually fight this time.
  24. That would be good if we could work something out, but bear in mind that I'm one of those curious folk who doesn't drink alcohol.
