  1. The PT thing is cool in theory, but unless I just didn't get there in the demo, nothing in that game is even subtly hinted at and it just got obtuse and tedious with its pixel-hunting. I get why it was trying to stay away from too much hand-holding/prompting for atmosphere's sake, but at some point it just got too frustrating/uninteresting to care anymore. And it was really frustrating because it started so strong and I wanted to keep seeing what crazy shit would happen. I will add Ground Zeroes to using the mic in the controller really well, though. I'd hope we'll see ambient crowd chatter in games like, say, Assassin's Creed in the future. And I can only imagine the possibilities for Arkham Knight.
  2. To be completely honest, there kinda aren't any RPGs out yet. There's certainly games with RPG elements, but not really many straight-up RPGs.
  3. That's not the case though. When you buy a game - you get all the features for the most part. There are so egregious examples of this not being the case, but in an example like this I think it's fair to say that you're getting everything that was advertised. In this - the last month or so before release, we're getting information on what DLC is going to entail - and what DLC boils down to in cases like this is the idea that there has to be a cutoff point for new content. In the days before DLC, we never saw anything along the lines of what we "could've had" because there was no platform to deliver it to us. We couldn't get extra wrestlers in WWF Attitude because there was really no way to do it. Irregardless of this, we were told that we were getting two storylines and a certain number of wrestlers. The WWE series is usually good for actually having most of the content NOT on the disc itsself (probably out of that list, just Paige) and I think a user will still get a great experience out of it without needing all the other stuff. I do think it's the case. I refuse to believe that they couldn't include essentially all of this on the disc come release. It'd be different if they expanded say the roster with people who are debuting around now. If they gave me the new NXT guys, Hideo Itami, Finn Balor or Kevin Steen. That's additional content to the game. This is just a bunch of stuff that at some point in development they decided to allocate as DLC and not include in a game I'm expected to pay 70 for and commit that money now if I want Sting. The pipedream of DLC might've been added content previously outside the realms of possibility due to time constraints or optical storage media but it's just not the case. They're segmenting stuff from the disc and still charging full price. They're having their cake and eating it too. There's nothing wrong with that because the consumer has accepted it and it's most definitely the industry norm. Also I didn't have a great experience with WWE 2K14 by buying just the game. There were hundreds of CAWs I coudln't download because they used DLC parts. Please, do inform me where you got all your game development experience that you can definitively say that the WWE 2K15 dev team is deliberately holding shit they've had done since before they had to be content locked to milk people for DLC/season pass money.
  4. $40 game? HA. HA. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
  5. Add me to the "probably getting it around Christmas" list.
  6. After the patch, I'm still a useless 98 that can't do any skill moves. I somehow have two star skill moves despite having 99 ball control and unlocking all of the "+1 Star Skill Moves" accomplishments. And when the weird/dumb accomplishments thing happened and I re-earned all of them, I re-earned all of my "+1 Star Skill Moves" accomplishments. I even remember having them within the first few games of the bug happening. Now they're gone and I can't figure out a way to get them back. This is actually fucking infuriating. And I've only played a few games post-patch, but I don't see any differences in keepers, which there shouldn't be considering that stuff wasn't addressed.
  7. Welp, apparently this weird bug has now destroyed my dude's ability to do skill moves. Pretty useless being a 98 (or a 88 for that matter) without being able to dribble.
  8. Haaaaahahaha. My Career is just fucked, and hilarious. My dude was a 88 overall and somehow all of my accomplishments got erased. I played one game, got all the accomplishments back, then went up to a 98 overall (and definitely don't have the stats to be a 98 overall). It's hilarious.
  9. Granted, the PS4 version just a port of the PC version, but the PC version of Sleeping Dogs looks fucking incredible. I wouldn't buy it now, though. Not for $70.
  10. It's not so much that it's reliant on VC as it seems the servers constantly try to check your VC, and end up fucking up to the point of people losing MyCareer mode saves, and so on—that's what I've seen/heard with a bit of searching around. That's just how it is for now, though. I'd wait until the servers issues get fixed.
  11. The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift is so wonderfully dumb. I fucking love this movie.
  12. I have no clue what the fuck is going on at any given moment and I'm absolutely button-mashing, but the Bayonetta 2 demo is FUCKING AWESOME. Shit is just poppin' off all over the place. The limited amount of times you can play a Wii U demo, though, continues to be fucking stupid.
  13. The NBA 2K14 servers were borked until, like, December or January. So it may be a while. Hopefully it won't be, because the servers having an effect upon virtually EVERY SINGLE MODE, especially single player modes like My Career is unacceptable. And it really concerns me that the VC/servers being tied to VC could really, really impact WWE 2K15 and fuck that game over too.
  14. Consider yourself lucky with $100. I looked it up last night on the PS4 and it was $180. Maybe that's because I don't have Rogers, but that's fucking insane and defiiiinitely not worth it. Anywho, the best part of a new hockey season is new goalie equipment.
  15. Fair enough. I was a bit harsh, and I really want to like Alien: Isolation, but I'd say all three other games have more longevity/replayability. And from all indications of the first DLC the DLC isn't going to change up the formula of the main game. Even when you aren't being chased by the Xenomorph you're sneaking about hiding from androids/humans and barely surviving. It's a horror game in the vein of Amnesia. Which is good for what it's trying to do and it is so damned atmospheric and tense. But even if it isn't scripted, it still boils down to tring to avoid things, whether they are the Xenonorph, humans, or androids. And that's awesome for one playthrough. Maybe even two. But Alien doesn't have the replayability/longevity that a loot-driven game or more dynamic, system-driven game like SoM has. And it doesn't need to, really. But if we're looking for replayability/longevity out of that list, Alien is #4 to me.
  16. I hope Bayonetta, the BAMF that she is, shoots you in your dumb face with the gun on the bottom of her heels. And then her hair dragon eats you. Because fuck you, she's awesome.
  17. I have by no means played all of the above, but I've read quite a few reviews/watched enough stuff/played bits and pieces/had friends play bits and pieces to form a pretty good first impression of those games. Alien is basically out right away. It's a bit long for what it is to begin with, and to be reductive, you're being chased around by an alien for twenty hours. Regardless of whether you think it's effective/scary, it's not really replayable a second time. Diablo is loot-driven and, well, Diablo. There's an assload of classes and if Diablo's your kinda thing then it's more Diablo and that's pretty rad. And I've heard the co-op is great. It's got an insane amount of replayability/longevity, but you have to be into Diablo. Destiny is divisive, it seems. It's repetitive and can get monotonous, and eventually the single player side of things just kinda wears thin. If you like the general gameplay, though, and have enough friends to play with, you can probably look past the repetition and kinda bunk loot system. Andddd Shadow of Mordor is basically made by the nemesis system and how willing you are to engage with it/really fool around. The combat is quite good, the story is eh, but the nemesis system just totally makes it. I'd honestly say Shadow of Mordor and Diablo, but I can see the argument for Destiny. I very briefly played it, but just wasn't hooked by the gameplay, and from what I heard of the game's repitition, I wouldn't be able to deal with it. Again, though, if you do like Destiny's gameplay, I could see the appeal. Though one is an FPS and one is a dungeon crawler, to me, Diablo and Destiny are very similar games in the way you approach them: games you just kinda sit back and chill out with and futz around with trying to get rad loot. I think Diablo has a much more engaging and interesting loot system and a lot more engaging character customization. It is piss-easy, though, for the most part. Destiny has a bit more engaging gameplay, but the loot system and the repetitive missions put me off, personally. I dunno if that helps, but I think the aims of Diablo and Destiny are quite similar, so I'd pick one of those two and go with Shadow of Mordor.
  18. No, I bought 2K15 though. And its great to see 2K learned nothing and still made way too much dependent on online servers, which are of course down. I can't edit the fucking roster, because I need to download one beforehand, and I can't. It's not much consolation, but this seems to be on Sony if you're on PS4, not 2K, and they're aware of it/trying to fix it.
  19. Ahhh. Yeah. I looked around the internet and it seems to just not be out yet. Reviews are all over the place and I wasn't really thinking much of it beyond a showpiece for the PS4 looking pretty, so it's all good. It kinda seems like the game is barebones and sterile, and the driving model isn't really enough to carry the game.
  20. Excuse my ignorance, but where is the free version of Driveclub? I can't find it on the North American store at first glance. Only option is to outright buy it at a reduced price. Also can't find Dust despite finding Spelunky and Pix the Cat.
  21. The DLC is completely self-contained but playing through the main game helpa refresh you on Ellie as a character, makig the DLC that much better. By no means do you have to play through the story though.
  22. AW SHIT VIB RIBBON IS OUT TOMORROW ON PS3 AND SOON ON PS4 FUCK YEAH
  23. Hearing this is a first. And really? That sucks, because Shaq and Ernie dude seem awesome.
  24. Considering it may be a while until we can really gel/old habits die hard/we don't have mics, I would suggest it might be good to have a target man striker alongside Robben for those quick counter/long balls/crosses we try until we can discipline ourselves to pass around a bit more. And, again, especially with no mics, it can be a bit hard to kick that habit, as it's hard to communicate and build up play, so you're looking to strike as quickly/effectively as you can. And that can work quite well offline sometimes, but a lot of us just don't have skilled enough dudes to leg out long passes/make really accurate crosses/long passes.
