  1. Nine times out of ten, I play with a party of Zidane/Garnet/Vivi/Steiner - mostly because they're the only people that even have a decent story.
  2. You talking about the Advance series, or the War of the Lions remake of the original. BTW, how are those games. I've only played the original PS1 version of the game. I've only played the PS1 version of FFT as well; but my cousin has a PSP and War of the Lions, literally about a half a minute' walk away from this computer... I guess I just never got around to playing it. >_> Anyway, I ordered the DS remake of FFIV a few moments ago. I played about an hour of the SNES version a few days ago, and it made me think about getting that - that, and I haven't gotten a new DS game in eons, despite having owned the damned thing since about 2005. Still works as well as the day I got it. I'm also thinking of picking up the DS remake of FFIII after I can get to the bank.
  3. Speaking of Friedberg and Seltzer, according to Wikipedia, they're making Musical Movie now, scheduled for 2010. EDIT: Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to pretend to be happy about it.
  4. I'm looking forward to Dissidia Final Fantasy, Arkham Asylum, RE5, LOW and SVR10... I'm not that familiar with most of the anticipated games this year... Although I am looking to try Skate 2 out tomorrow.
  5. Sorry for the double post, but also, I've been listening to the FFVIII soundtrack recently... I think it's Nobuo's best work, personally. IX comes in a close second.
  6. This. Anyway, as for VI, I'm stuck trying to level up so I won't get massacred by the boss fights in Kefka's Tower; VII, I think I've got a save somewhere around the beginning of the first disc; IX, I've got a save in Pandemonium (right after the You're Not Alone battles), but I'm not so keen on playing it right now; X, I believe, I'm in the Gagazet caves; I think I've got a near-the-end savegame in X-2; I can't get into XII that much still (though I'm determined to play through it before XIII is released); and finally, as for VIII... everyone knows what I'm planning for that... EDIT: But on the topics of Omega Weapon FF8 and Penance... never even attempted fighting them... although Omega is because I know I'll get massacred, and Penance is due to me having the regular version of X. I've beaten the Weapons in VI, Ultimate and Diamond in VII, and Ultima in VIII... that's gotta count for something, right? RIGHT?!?
  7. I've got it going in the background - and it's kinda tolerable that way. It's like hearing a slowed-down version of ZP when Yahtzee's talking.
  8. Same here. I love games like this, but I'm not dropping that much without a demo.
  9. What he said. And no, Canada should not be annexed by the states What Ruki and SRR said. And I remember a comparison Jon Stewart made about Canada. Canada's conservative party won the election... and compared to the Republican Party, the Canadian conservative party is like the 'Gay Nader Fans For Peace' party. I don't know where that really comes into play, I just thought it was funny.
  10. I like the early parts of playing blitzball in FFX... it's still challenging. Not frustratingly hard like the championship match against the Goers, but not piss-easy like when your team is leveled up and Tidus has Jecht Shot 2.
  11. As far as I know, the DMW (the spinner thing) happens randomly; but it's basically a limit break. As you meet more characters, more limits become available - for example, getting three Sephiroths means that you use Octaslash. Same with summons, where three Ifrits means Hellfire is used.
  12. As far as I know, there's no spell like that... although Odin/Gilgamesh using Zantetsuken is pretty close. But the boss I'm talking about (BGH<random numbers>) is a two-part fight. First part is the machine, second part is fighting the soldiers who control it. That second part is where I failed. EDIT: Passed it. Just had to pick the 20-minute limit (which DOES allow the near door), and ended up having roughly nine or ten minutes to spare.
  13. That sucked balls. I'm playing through FF8 again, and right now, I'm re-doing the Galbadia Missile Base portion. I got through the entire damn thing, and went with the 10-minute time limit for the escape because it allows you to use the side door. (IIRC, don't you also get access with a 20-minute time limit?) Anyway, I'm fighting BGH, and get to roughly a minute left. Quistis is summoning Quezacotl, and Irvine's just finished a Brothers summon... and BGH blows up - so all I've got to fight is the three guards, all of which fall in about a hit. I've got less than a minute, and I realize that Irvine and Selphie can KO them with regular attacks... and then at about 20 seconds left, Quistis' summon finishes. The last guy (since Irvine and Selphie KO'ed the other two) is killed by Thunder Storm... but after the fight fades out, it then goes to the base exploding, and the Game Over screen. Why can't a technicality work in my favor? >_> *begrudgingly begins the base sequence again*

    Spore

To steer away from all the exchanges, I guess I 'beat' the game earlier. Spoiler: Click here to viewI got to the center of the galaxy (trekking through a huge fucking gathering of Grox planets), met Steve, and got the Staff of Life. Unfortunately, I then wandered around for a good hour trying to find the right black hole to take me back to my part of the galaxy. From there, I started buying up colony packs, and set up colonies on planets I terraformed using the Staff. I guess all I've gotta try to do now is gather all the badges. >_>
  15. To revive the thread... I've been playing Crisis Core recently, and beat the game a few minutes ago. I'd recommend it, especially so if you're an FF7 fan. However, is it a bad thing that the game left me wishing that Cloud was the one who had died, and you instead actually played VII as Zack, rather than his 'living legacy'? >_>
  16. Not to mention that it came in at #7. compared to (at least) MTS' #1 spot.
  17. I'm hoping that Disaster Movie shows Lionsgate that these (pieces of shit a dog wouldn't even sniff) aren't always profitable movies. Think about it - it's going up against Tropic Thunder (which took TDK out of first place), The Dark Knight (which, despite losing that place, is still making money), Pineapple Express (which was close to taking TDK out last week), among a few others I can't remember right now.

    Fable 2

He did better for Fable 2. Everything he hyped up (like the dog, choosing the gender of your player, raising families, etc.) he showed proof of, rather than just listing off things and not delivering on them.
  19. Well, as I type this, I've saved in the tower in Alexandria. First savepoint in the game, I think. I personally don't much care for the Evil Forest nor the Ice Cavern, so I'm looking to rush through them as fast as possible.
  20. I'm personally a Rinoa fan; I guess I don't really see or just don't mind all the crap people hate her for. As for IX, like I said: Kuja's my favorite villain in the entire game, and is second only to Kefka in the games I've played. As for the heroes, I've gotta agree with Steiner awesomeness.
  21. I'm gonna try to get into this, but I've been burned out on the FFs recently. IX was always one of my favorites. Kuja's an awesome villain.
  22. Oh - and after playing an old Disc 3 file I've got... Kuja is one of the most awesome villains in the later games, not to mention that Dark Messenger/Immoral Melody/whatever it's called is an awesome theme.
  23. Zidane's okay, but Steiner and Vivi is where the money is. IIRC, you CAN remove Zidane on the Hill of Despair, but that's the only time.
  24. Don't you kinda have to use him after you get him though? >_> The fact that you don't abuse Doomtrain for power-leveling means that you lose. Good day sir. Pffft, the only true way to power-level is the fixed elnoyle encounter in Esthar disc 3. Make sure someone has LVL UP and everyone has ST-ATK Death 100. Every fight will give about 1500 exp. Simple, simple. Pffft again! The only real way to powerlevel is to take a yellow-health Quistis to the Island Closest To Hell and have her use Degenerator on all the enemies. I got Squall, Quistis, and Rinoa to level ~75 each, from the lower 40s by doing that. Also, I love Doomtrain, but I forgot to get him in my last playthrough. I had six Remedy+'s, and the other six of the item that's not the Malboro Tentacles. (I think it's steel pipes, I'm not sure.)
