  1. Nothing comes close to naming a child Pilot Inspektor. :ohwell:
  2. Watched Spaceballs last night. Despite being both a geek and a huge Mel Brooks fan, my best friend had somehow never seen it until now.
  3. My 4G iPod is busted and I haven't used it in months so lets see if I can remember all of them: HIM Mix - All my favorite HIM songs Mikey Mix - A bunch of Mike Patton songs (mainly from FNM, Fantomas and Tomahawk) D&D Mix - Songs having to do with fantasy elements (mostly 3 Inches of Blood, The Sword, High On Fire and Mastodon) Techno Mix - Mostly remixes Hot Stripper Mix - Some poppy, chick-friendly music I'm sure there's a few more. I was about ready to put a Dir en grey playlist on as I had just procured their discography but then my iPod died. :-(
  4. Bejeweled. That's about it.
  5. A piece of me definitely died when I found out he was a Scientologist. But as for this, I'm faulting the producers for fucking up my childhood more than Jason Lee just playing a part in it.
  6. Is anyone out there like me when they get stumped on a game, instead of trying your hardest and seeing it through, you just give up? Worse yet, whenever you finally get around to picking it back up, you totally own the thing that was giving you so much grief in the first place? I just had that moment as I stopped playing Vice City Stories for a bit. Part of it was because of a difficult mission (the one where you have to protect the truck via a helicopter minigun) and part of it was because I was in the middle of moving. So after about 2 or 3 weeks of settling in, I decided to pick it back up. I must've played that mission about 30 times before giving up before. This time, I beat it within 3 tries. Worse yet, I got stuck while playing Shenmue 2 on the Dreamcast. It was at the part where you're in the underground fight club or whatever and I could not get past the chick I had to fight. No matter how many times I fought her, I couldn't win. So I put it away...for TWO YEARS! For two years, I didn't play that game. So one day I was really bored and popped it in. Somehow, I beat her my first try and went on to beat that game within a few days. Has this happened to anyone else?

    WOOOHOOO!

I haven't seen that many shows around here lately that interest me. I'm pretty bummed because Psyopus has passed through nearby like twice in as many months and I missed them both times.
  8. I went on an insane music downloading binge for some reason yesterday. I haven't downloaded music in years because of my shitty connections but now that I'm on high-speed, I've just been going berserk. This is what I downloaded yesterday. 3 Inches of Blood - Battlecry Under A Winter's Sun AFI - decemberunderground Atreyu - A Death Grip On Yesterday Danger Doom - The Mouse And The Mask Felix Da Housecat - Devin Dazzle And The Neon Fever Marilyn Manson - Eat Me, Drink Me Melt Banana - Cell Scape Planet Terror Soundtrack Scarface Soundtrack Jackass Number Two Soundtrack Transformers Soundtrack (2007) Not to mention a few spare From Autumn To Ashes tracks I don't already have plus Europe's "The Final Countdown" and two remixes of it. Just so you think I'm not a complete pirate, here are the new discs I bought...for the most part. I moved near a sweet used CD/DVD store with a great selection. Cattle Decapitation - Human Jerky Agoraphobic Nosebleed/Converge - The Poacher Diaries Guitar Wolf - Golden Black Psyopus - Our Puzzling Encounters Considered Pig Destroyer - Phantom Limb 3 Inches Of Blood - Fire Up The Blades I have enough music to last me...like a week or so.
  9. Everyone around me watching this thought it was for a new Godzilla movie. I kinda did too (more or less wishful thinking) but it looked a little too intense to be Godzilla.
  10. Though I would agree that the LotD zombies grew brains way too quickly, after 4 movies and 30+ years, shouldn't they evolve at least a little bit?
  11. Movie games suck because companies know they'll sell anyways so why bother making a quality product when they're gonna make the money no matter what? Why do you think Britney Spears and boy bands were so successful? Kids' parents' money talks. BTW, Enter The Matrix was nothing but a third-rate Max Payne ripoff with lesbo FMVs. Luckily, I had the PC version so I had more fun playing with the DOS emulator than the actual game.
  12. There's a difference between being tired of someone and not giving a shit about them. What's funny is that she's probably the most famous Idol and her sales and such are still crap. It proves that the whole Idol system is flawed. Mostly because they trot these people out for so long that when they finally win, no one really cares. And if they actually do, why should they? There's already a new season out with new hopefuls to get beaten over the head with!

    Transformers

My bad, I could've sworn I saw his name in the I Am Legend trailer.
  14. I held off of buying and even watching KB2 because I knew the ultimate box set was going to come eventually. But I had to buy the first one just because it was so damn awesome and relatively cheap.

    Transformers

Isn't Abrams also doing I Am Legend, the next Will Smith action movie that also had a trailer before Transformers? Sooo...two post-apocalyptic movies set in NYC back-to-back, eh?
  16. My friends and I listened to the original Transformers movie soundtrack to get us psyched for the new movie. "You got the touch! You got the powwwaaaaa!"

    Transformers

Transformers = Awesome. Simple as that. I don't know why people are knocking Shia. He practically made the movie as he made you believe in the character when another actor dealing with the same script could have easily failed miserably. Plus he was entertaining enough to let you ignore the fact that most of the robots didn't show up until at least halfway through the movie. With the disco ball in my car, I'm totally gonna try that "I installed a light back there *flex bicep* so it shines off the disco ball...over here *flex bicep again*" line. The product placement was pretty noticeable and actually, I pretty much ignored it when it came to the cars because...duh, they're robots disguised as cars so shouldn't they be able to morph into real life counterparts. What was really bad was the chick-with-the-hot-Australian-accent-that-bordered-on-annoying pulling out her Panasonic 2 Gig Memory Stick slowly enough for the camera to see. Or "Hey, the XBox 360 I just bought at a retailer near you has turned into a robut!" No, that's not a typo. I laughed when Jon Voight called them "ro-buts". But if there ever was a Michael Bay moment in the movie, it was the Epic Dramatic Bernie Mac Slo-Mo Dolly Shot within the first 10 minutes of the film. "Hey, I'm not in the rest of the movie but OMG MY REACTION IS SO IMPORTANT THAT THE CAMERA NEEDS TO ROTATE OVER 360 DEGREES AROUND ME!" Overall, everything worked. There was just enough camp and humor to make things entertaining, the gratuitous explosions fit because no one expects realism in a movie where cars turn into giant robots and fight each other (though I did think "damn, who's gonna clean this shit up" after the final fight) and, most importantly, it remained faithful enough to the original to keep the fans happy. And that's the big caveat. Quite a bit of the people I went to see it were already set up for a disappointment that Michael Bay was going to ruin their childhood memories but instead they walked out happy. As an aside, did anyone else get that trailer where a bunch of people are at a going away party and it's filmed with (or at least gimmicked to look like) a handheld digicam and suddenly New York is exploding? At first, everyone around me was all like "OMG new Godzilla movie!" but it made Godzilla look like a terrorist threat. But at the end, it just had a cliche tagline, a release date, then nothing. No title! Anyone have any ideas?
  18. Transformers - Eleventeen out of Ten. It's probably tied with 300 for Best Movie of the Year for me.
  19. Even though I probably won't play the game, I'm psyched to see that From Autumn To Ashes made the list. Their new album freakin' owns. Also, to all that have listened to the new Bravery album, any good? Once I heard that they decided to drop their 80's new wave elements, it dropped off my "must listen" radar.
  20. I worked at a grocery store for close to 8 years and it pissed me off to take things back after people put them in the wrong place. But I usually let it slide because the store was somewhat big and people are lazy. But every GameStop or whatever I've been to was about 20 feet by 20 feet tops. I can't imagine people being THAT lazy to take a game, walk a few steps away and then not retake those couple steps to put it back.
  21. How much would I get for a copy of Backyard Wrestling 2?
  22. My roommate's girlfriend brought over GH2 and an extra guitar and we've been playing that quite a bit, particularly my roommate who's addicted to it. But I can't imagine myself going past Medium...again. Hell, some of the songs on medium are too much for me. I bought "Six" and promptly fucked it up within 15 seconds. Meanwhile, a sweet song I found myself digging was "Jordan". It's got just enough difficulty to make it enjoyable. About two or three times during the song, I was all like "What the hell are my fingers doing? And how the hell are they hitting the right notes?" And that's a good feeling.
