  1. OK, regarding the Dawson sending off...how was he supposed to NOT handle the ball while flying through the air? And while we're on the subject...why not just let Ferguson Ref all the Old Trafford Home Games? Watched the whole match and we really deserved to get something out of it, even down to 10 men we had periods of play where we looked dangerous. We just seem to get no luck away to Man U! Hopefully we'll do better at the Lane in a couple of weeks time. Regarding transfers: Woodgate? I'm sure that when he's fit he'll be a good asset (though potentially we have two of the most promising, and injury prone, defenders in the prem). As for anyone else I can see us doing the same as most years, signing people on deadline day at 11:59 or 00:10 (cos the fax broke!)
  2. THATS MORE LIKE IT!!!! If we can get anything outta the next two games I'll be a happy bunny. Hopefully Daws and Bale might be back for the Man U game.
  3. Apparently it doesn't need surgery and he might be back after two or three weeks. This is where having 4 top-class strikers comes into it's own, and £16.5 million on Bent makes a bit more sense, otherwise we'd be stuck with Keane and Defoe leading the line, which leaves us short on physical presence.
  4. OK. After the last two results I just need to say: WHAT. THE. FUCK?????? I KNOW we've got injury problems, but surely we can muster a win at home against Everton. They put on a tidy performance but they weren't that good!
  5. I'd like it if they forshadowed Harley Quinn in this movie, after Joker gets admitted to Arkham, as Dr Quinzell, his psichoanalist. It would be another 'building block' in this latest Batman Universe. I like how this adaptation is building up, and hopefully if they continue we can see many members of the 'Bat Family' featured. I'd love to see a six movie-long series, there are certainly enough stories to tell, and we could see Bale mature from the 'Year One' era Batman (as he kinda is now) into the more modern version of the Dark Knight. I presume we'll see Robin at some point, hopefully more as a teen, as opposed to the more grown-up Dick Grayson featured in the previous films. It would be cool to have him in a third film, but not as Robin, just after he's taken in by Bruce, like in the 'Long Halloween.' I'd also like to see Catwoman. She's always interested me as a character, especially in the 'Hush' storyline when Bruce takes her in to the 'inner-circle' of the Bat-Family. It'd be cool to see her in a cameo, popping up now and then in different movies. Personally I liked seeing Jim Gordon play an important role in the first one. I'd love to see more of him, maybe with the addition of Bullock and Montoya in the next few. Similarly Barbera Gordon. Less so as Bat-Girl, but her role as Oracle has always been an important like in Batman's information chain.
  6. Quite right. I'd much rather they went in for Morten Gamt Pederson, I doubt he'd cost £16 million. Leave our current crop of strikers alone, if Mido goes then put Barnard or Pekhart (who seems to be getting some recognicion in the reserves) on the bench, or just look for some good young emerging talent from the lower leagues (someone in the vein of Matt Derbyshire, good striker with potential, but still young and wouldn't mind not being first choice).
  7. Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...interesting! This I could get behind. At 34 he presumably won't mind being on the bench for a bit, and should Keano or Berba get injured/suspended, he'd be a safe hand to put on.
  8. So guys...opinions on Darren Bent? Apparently we're close to signing him for around £16 million, according to all the papertalk. I think he's a good player, but no way is he worth that, especially as that is reportedly what Barcelona have just paid for Henry. Even if we sign him it would mean splitting up the profitable Keane/Berbatov partnership, or else risk having a £16 million player on the bench (It will also likely send Defoe on his way, and for some reason I'd much prefer Defoe to Bent if we had to choose between the two).
  9. Apparently Charlton are gonna hold out for £17 million for Bent. From a Spurs perspective I hope we don't fork out that much for him, I'd rather we kept Defoe, Berbatov, Keano and even Mido rather than paying over the odd for Bent. Undoubtably he's a good player, but no way worth £17 million! Especially if Keano and Berba are leading the line for us next season all Bent will do is sit on the bench, that's a lot of money to pay for that.
  10. That was awesome, especially as I was expecting this to simply be a prelude to the series finalie, much in the way of there being a 'calm-before-the-storm' episode in the previous two seasons. THAT was the reason for having the 'Future-kind' there guys, lulling you into thinking that that was what the story was going to be about, when really once you get to the revelation half way through, the whole story of the futurekind and the Humans and 'Utopia' can be screwed up and thrown in the bin. Regardless of which it was a well thought out plot-device, that enhanced the shock when you find out about the Master. I liked Jack's return, and finally getting the Doctor's reasoning for leaving him there. Plus we find out how Jack got to be in the 21st century, when we'd last seen him on the Gamestation far in the future (I liked the idea of him having to 'wait through' the 20th century, it's a concept straight from the old Virgin New Adventure novels, having the Tardis 'wait around', through normal time for a rendevous with the Doctor when he gets seperated from it in time). I also thought the pair of them discussing Rose was very poigniant, especially when Jack confesses to visiting her estate in the '90's and watching her grow up. Though it did tend to marginalise Martha a bit, which is a shame, after she featured so well in the previous 2-parter. And was I alone in thinking Mr Russell T. had SWERVED us when it came to the Master and John Simm? I though he might have but after he got shot I knew he was going to regenerate...and it's early days but I think I'm going to like John Simm's portrayal. The nod-and-a-wink to him 'telling the Doctor his evil plan' was a nice touch, and he seems to be striking a nice balance between over the top melodrama and underlying threat, making him a joy to watch, but retaining the fear. He's entertaining, but he'd kill you in a second! Can't wait for the next two episodes!
  11. All Pro really needs to be the best is the Premiership Licence, maybe a more realistic Masterleague Structure (as in acuratly modelling the structure of the different leagues, The right number of teams for the Premiership for instance, and both cup competitions). Then there will be really no need to buy Fifa!
  12. First MGS, battling Liquid Snake atop the Metal Gear Rex. Dunno why but it always seemed very cinematic, the hero and villain engaging in a fistfight atop the walking nuclear battle tank.
  13. So who else do you think we should sign? I think Morten Gamt-Pederson would be a fantastic signing. Malbranque's been good up the left, but a natural left-footer there would be an asset. Pederson's pacy, has a good cross, and has experience in the Prem. It would allow Malbranque to play more centrally if needed, possibly behind the two strikers or running from deep to score more goals. I'd also take Pederson over the other left winger we are linked with at the moment, Petrov, simply on experience. Not every Bulgarian will adjust to the Premiership as easily as Berbatov, surely?
  14. Great. I'd thank Martin O'Neill for signing him. Just to stop the persistant, heart attack inducing rumours that he's coming to Spurs. I'll take our current crop of CM's over him any day.
  15. This looks funny. And will probably still be a better horror movie than 'See No Evil'!
  16. I believe next week's is based on one of the Virgin New Adventure novels, and written by the author as well. I'll have to hunt it down on Amazon and try to get hold of it before next Saturday.
  17. Wasn't last season his first in the Prem? Not everyone settles as quickly as Berbatov has. And I think he's come on a lot as well. As for King being injured I think it has made a BIG difference. For all Dawson's talent I don't think he's a leader of the same calibre of King, King marshals the defence really well and we look more organised when he is playing well (as opposed to against Seville).
  18. I'll admit to being a bit scared early in the second half. But we pulled through. THANK YOU BERBA!!!!!! I'm thinking that Jol will put out a 'Reserve Side' against Watford on Saturday. Mido and Defoe up front. Maybe debuts for Taarabt and Burch (maybe Charlie Lee?). Then we'll have pretty much the side we put out tonight ready for Monday (plus Rocha). Debate point: What should our defence be for Monday? I like the way Stalteri's been playing, but I think a line-up of: Chimbonda-Dawson-Rocha-Y.P Lee.
  19. The 'Rocky' theme coming on, and seeing Clarkson and Moyles Crammed into the front of the Panda as they dragged the remains of Clarkys limo using the front two wheel was the funniest thing I've seen in ages! Perfect choice of music!
  20. Probably shoulda just edited this...but I'll blame it on the rest of ya for being boring and not posting... PAUL....BLOODY STALTERI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET IN!!!!!!!!!!
  21. From the Spurs: David Ginola-Fantastic with the ball at his feet, loved by the crowd, women throwing themselves at you, legendary hair.... From any other team: Stuart Pearce-Embodies everything good about playing for England. Today's team could do well to have a modicum of his fire and passion for the National Team.
  22. He's a firm favourite in our house, his goals have already been christened 'Berbatov Cocktails', and my bruv has taken to chanting: "Andy Garci-a...Andy Garci-a" Whenever he's on the telly (He's a movie buff as well as a Spurs fan!). I'm gonna get his name on my kit when I'm next at the Lane, now he's fit and playing regularly he looks like a tremendous goal threat, and his skill and ability on the ball means I'm drawing comparisons with Klinsmann, hopefully he'll stay a bit longer, the Chairman won't "wash his car with his shirt" and he'll maybe even surpass him in Spurs legend.
  23. To throw my £00.02 in: I think that their self-titled album was the best, some fantastic songs on there and everything just seemed to gel. Conversely I thought that their other two albums were a bit more disjointed, without the edgy tone of 'Audioslave.' And I don't think this is a bad thing, listen to Cornell's solo stuff and it's clear he wants to go in a different direction lyrically than the band. And them getting back together to form RATM is the best direction for them to go in.
  24. I should have said Buffyverse movie. I terribly miss the characters. While I would love another Firefly movie, as the above poster said, I feel Serenity could easily serve as a fitting conclusion if it must turn out that way. The Buffyverse, on the other hand, has always felt like a comic book to me that could go on forever. Don't get me wrong, would love to see more in both worlds (which is why I'm very excited about the Buffy comic), but that's the realm I feel could always continue.
