  1. That pic of Cheryl 3rd down is ridiculously sexy...till you get to the wickerwork heels? Reminds me of the old 'extra chairs' my Nan had (god rest her soul) for when family came round for Sunday dinner...aaaaand the 'sexy Cheryl Cole moment' is gone... (She needs to go back to Tweedy as well, if only so my first thought regarding her isn't how she is irreversably besmirched by an ex-gooner...Yes I have issues...) Also Megan Fox has this combination of almost angelic beauty, but also makes you think that she must be utter filth in the bedroom...must be the dark hair. Speaking of hair I'm not getting why Anna Paquin is so high (well, all the shagging in that vampire show perhaps) throw in the white streak in her hair and the gloves from playing Rogue in X-men though...nah, I'm sick and in need of help!
  2. The death of Gwen Stacy is one of the biggest parts of the Spidey mythology for me. One of the few scenes that I really liked from the 'House of M' event in the comics was Peter being 'woken up' from the illusion of that world and remembering that in the real universe Gwen Stacy had died. There was a good scene between him and Wolverine (usually two disparate charachters in their outlook) who were probably two of the more affected heroes from that event (Peter remembered the life he lived with Gwen in the 'false' universe, while Wolverine remembered all his life, including the events that had been wiped from his memory over the years). Spidey's reaction when he realises he is back in the real world at the end of the series, yet can remember his 'fantasy' life with Gwen, their son and Uncle Ben still being alive, is a powerful scene for me, kinda redeemed what had been a bit of a crappy series up to that point for me. Would love to see if they have the guts to pull off killing Gwen in the movies, and explore that side of Spidey's character.
  3. Not a Liverpool fan (COYS) but do like the club (have lots of friends and family who support them, and have been to Anfield myself and was impressed with the atmosphere and history). It boggles the mind the current situation. Hicks and Gillette blocking the sale that would save the club and escape a points deduction? How much money do they think people will offer them for it if it's bottom of the table on minus points? The whole situation is stupid and all of football, not only Liverpool fans, will lose out if the courts don't rule in Liverpools favour.
  4. I remember when the ill-fated '90's Nicholas Cage Superman film was being mooted; I always thought Paul Gross (Canadian actor - most famous for his role as Const. Benton Fraser in 'Due South') would be good in the role. He's probably too old for it now, but back then I thought he had the look, physical presence and acting chops to carry it off. Hell Fraser was basically a big boy-scout...'Truth, Justice and the Canadian Way'...? Sadly not to be! Whoever they pick I just hope that they keep the iconic score over the opening credits. Gives me goose-bumps whenever I hear it for some reason, even in the couple of times it's played in the background in Smallville.
  5. On the subject of Dr Cox I think he gets killed off in Highlander 2 as well. Don't all rush out to watch it though, wish I hadn't!
  6. Seconded! Greatest person to play Supes, hands down, was Christopher Reeve. He looked the part of Superman (If I recall he'd been working out with David Prowse - who was a bodybuilder before being Darth Vader remember - to bulk up for the part), and he was believable as Clark Kent as well. I just don't see why we bother with all the Superman reboots and making it a big event. We've had the DEFINITIVE Superman, I can't picture anyone else playing that character. That said with Smallville coming to an end I don't see why that can't transition to the big screen and continue the franchise there. Not seen any of season 10 but if they are sticking to Clark not wearing the uniform it would work well as a big screen follow-up to the series. Superman may have been done definitivly but Tom Welling's version of the character is different. X-files and the various Star Trek movies show that it can be done, and there is a ready made audience who'd pay for a big screen outing I'd bet. And Welling is older than you think, he was playing 'Teenage Clark' in his mid-twenties (think he had kids himself by that time!) he could carry off an older Superman.
  7. Got me for a bit too but I think it's Sons (of) Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original (referring to the carved table in the clubhouse that they meet round). I think the only guys with it on patches are the founder members, but everyone seems to use SAMCRO as a name to refer to the club anyway (though technically the only 'Redwood Originals' would have been the guys who founded the club).
  8. On the Rooney issue he hasn't just had a poor World Cup, I can't remember the last time he scored in a full International. Up front on his own last wednesday he looked isolated and ineffectual. He isn't bad in the air but he isn't a 'target man' and nothing that was played up to him was sticking with him long enough for the other players to move up and get involved. When Rooney broke into the England team he was playing alongside Michael Owen, himself a phenominal attacking threat at international level at that time, so it gave him more space to work with, and when he had a bad game we had another striker to pick up the slack. With Heskey he allowed Rooney to play his own game by drawing attention away from him with his very physical play (unfortunatly when Rooney had an off-day Heskey isn't the one to weigh in with goals like Owen could). Rooney isn't delivering the goods at the moment. Everyone was critical of Heskey being picked and providing no goal threat, yet Rooney hasn't scored when he's played either. He should be dropped. It might be the kick up the arse he needs to sort his game out at International level, at the moment he looks like a petulant kid in a playground game when he doesn't get the ball ALL THE TIME. If nothing else we should explore other options. Crouch and Defoe? Bent on his own? Zamora? Give Michael Owen another chance? At the moment teams are just crowding Rooney out of the game and rendering him ineffective, whereas they used to be running scared of him.
  9. I like Belfort/Silva. Given how Sonnen managed to clip Anderson and stagger him I wonder what effect Vitor's strikes would have. I'd like to see Sonnen have a rematch sometime down the line but he should earn it in my opinion. Even if it's just one fight, a rematch with Maia maybe?
  10. Can't see Wes Brown as a massive loss. Robbo I'm dissappointed about. I would have taken him to the World Cup instead of Green (who's team only avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth). James I can understand going in spite of getting relegated as he was an experienced head both in the #1 and backup roles. Robbo had played an entire World Cup campaign for England though and had come off the back of a good season with Blackburn. I think he would have been an asset in South Africa, as opposed to two rather inexperienced goalies. That said I'm not convinced that removing himself from selection is the right answer. He might have split 45 mins with Hart in the friendly and continued his good form in the league?
  11. Out of that squad Bale, Rose and Gio (possibly Naughton too) needn't be registered as they are 21 as of the start of the season (I think that's how the rules go). I think we can fit in every first team pro who is over 21 at the moment anyway, so there is room for more signings anyway. Personally hoping we keep all 4 of our current strikers, I'd love us to sign someone (even on loan) to cover CB. Either a 'Bassong' style signing where he turns out to be a bit of a revelation or someone from abroad, maybe a more experienced head, like Naybet was for us a few seasons ago. Failing that someone like Curtis Davis or Jolean Lescott (though I am IN NO WAY their biggest fans)?
  12. http://www.zshare.net/download/775616594c06520d/ Not tried it myself but it seems alright. Found another one saying this: Ugh...must have been a nightmare that second option sounds like hell! I'll try the save and see what happens, cheers for the assist :-) EDIT: Ok tried loading it and the file is "Real Groups.fm" Tried adding it in a bunch of places but nothing goes, anyone have any idea about where to install it? Typically there were no instal instructions... :-)
  13. Anyone know if there's an edt. file out there that gives you the correct World Cup Group Fixtures? I remember an old FM got updated to have them and changed all the qualifiers to friendly matches...that was an official patch though IIRC.

    Sherlock

Thought that line was VERY Doctor Who. Is Gatiss writing this? Maybe we can get a Who/Sherlock crossover...I know the 'New Adventure' novels did one which was an interesting concept.
  15. Lol. Guess either the busy final week caught up with Spurs or else the Aresenal result at half-time took it out of them. I'll take finishing 4th though, and hopefully we can get into the group stages proper of the CL, would make my Wednesday nights a bit more exciting anyway!
  16. Neckline is different to the pic of the team wearing it too. Not bad though. Looks good with the Holsten logo on it. :-)
  17. They never should have sacked Hughes IMO. Glad we've picked up 4th spot though, hopefully we can build on it next season, at least is should hopefully keep the current squad together for a while longer and stop the vultures circling around the likes of Bale and Modric.
  18. Always fancied Hingis more than Anna...and together they were an awesome team of course when it came to actually playing tennis!
  19. Like I said would have been nice for the retro appeal, I'm sure we'll go for a Malasian airline or online gambling company as is the current vogue. Whoever gets it is likely to have naming rights for the new stadium I believe?
  20. Love that new Spurs kit. The yellow on the current shirt has grown on me but I do prefer white and navy to take prominance on the strip. And I'm sure we'll have white 'Change' shorts for Europe, whichever competition we end up in. Now if only we can get HOLSTEN as a sponsor to complete the retro-ness, though I'd settle for our current beer supplier as well, as long as it's a blue font.
  21. I love that Mansell clip. It was back when I used to watch F1 with my Dad when I was about 5!. If I remember rightly Mansell got fined for that (not that it mattered) but I thought it was a good bit of sportsmanship, sadly wouldn't happen today. Is it any surprise we got so much more overtaking and exciting racing with those huge garden-roller tyres either!
  22. They mentioned 'Gravity bubbles' as a way of keeping the air in. I think it was supposed to be a regular Spitfire (With Laser cannons, but we saw they were using the Dalek ones in the workshop) but with a bubble of air around it, allowing it to fly in space with the propeller (as well as explaining all that non-Newtonian banking and turning in a vacume!). Hell it was a neat visual! For those people complaining about Amy 'saving the day' all the time and making the Doctor look a bit thick by comparison...I think the idea is that he's been travelling alone for a long while at this point (while he was still Tennant) and since the Time War he's been a bit darker anyway (Donna says it after he murders the Empress of the Racknoss in 'The Runaway Bride'). He needs a companion to remind him of his basic humanity. The way I see it he has just had to destroy his own people for a second time (In the Christmas Episode), he's regenerated (seemingly without wanting to and fighting it all the way)...hell even the Master has disappeared/is dead again (who has always been like an estranged brother, more so since they were the last 2 Time Lords left. He seemed desperate to re-habilitate him in their recent encounters). As a result Matt Smith's Doctor (in these early eps) has a somewhat fatallistic bent (For all his joking delivery). He was about to lobotomise the Space Whale (instead of considering Amy's solution) and tried to make the Android in last weeks ep feel 'Human' by feelings of pain and hurt and grief (instead of Amy thinking that he needed to feel/remember love). I think we will see Amy help the Doctor and open his eyes, I think he's still recovering from the dark places he went in 'Waters of Mars'. Just my two cents. :-)
  23. I thought it was good. Matt Smith put his own spin on the character and, as with when Tennant took over from Chris Eccles-cake, I didn't find myself wishing for the good-ol' days! Plus it had a Mini in it. Can't argue with that! Amy Pond is hot as well. GINGERS SHOULD NOT BE THAT FIT! :-)
  24. Lots of potential for lawlessness. Merc missions. Riots. Mini-games where you tear down statues!
