I'd say it's more Christian rap than a gospel album, with the exception of opening track and one other IIRC. I like gospel music and occasional Christian rap and this really sucked. I didn't love Ye, but this is a big step down from that even. Follow God's dope, though.

I might have liked Midsommar even more than Hereditary, which I adored. I'm hoping the director's cut will be out on blu ray at some point! Horror's in a really good place right now, IMO, with Ari Aster, Mike Flanagan and Jordan Peele.

Ye's ear for samples remains top notch.

It's wild and extremely sad how many people are learning about Black Wall Street for the first time 😞 Great that the show is telling the story to a huge audience, though. I've not finished the graphic novel just yet, so I'll hold off on the premiere, but I had to catch the first five minutes to see the riots recreated.

Day 1 of Halloweenfest, a horror movie watch for all 31 days of October. First up is Candyman, which gets better and better every time I watch it!

Chappelle's special was more miss than hit, with the biggest miss being the LGBTQ jokes. I mean, my all-time favorite Chappelle stand-up is the "How old is 15 really?" joke, which goes from seemingly making light of R. Kelly's 15 year old victim to breaking down the difference in America's coverage of Elizabeth Smart and Erica Pratt. With that in mind, I was waiting patiently for that big comedic flourish that showed there was something deeper than trans jokes, but it never came. That along with the pro-gun jokes brought the special down. Also would have liked more about America's dismissal of the black crack epidemic vis-a-vis white opioid crisis, that was probably the best material.
