  1. Well, last year the Vols would have (not `might have', WOULD HAVE) beaten Alabama if their kicker had been worth a damn (same kicker this year, but he's clearly improved). Today they might have beaten Florida if they had a QB worth a damn.
  2. 1. Homer Simpson (The Simpsons) 2. Stewie Griffin (Family Guy) 3. Eric Cartman (South Park) 4. The Monarch (Venture Brothers) 5. Peter Griffin (Family Guy) 6. Bugs Bunny (Looney Toons) 7. Donald Duck (Disney) 8. Lion-O (Thundercats) 9. Shaggy (Scooby Doo) 10.Brock Samson (Venture Brothers) Almost went with Butters from South Park for my #10, but just couldn't do it.
  3. Pennywise the Dancing Clown says otherwise. Tim Curry was the ONLY thing good about that. Seriously. So you've just added to my argument, not taken away from it. Thanks.
  4. More like fucking no. Because most King adaptations done for tv have sucked. (The Stand and The Langoliers being the standout exceptions) The Dark Tower would work better as a series of theatrical movies or direct to dvd but with a bigger budget than usual direct to dvd productions.
  5. One of the other message boards I go to has a predictions thread each week. Out of 22 people, only 6 picked the Vikings, and one of them was a homer. 2 people either forgot to make a pick or just decided to skip making a pick for that game. (I picked the Saints) Interestingly enough, the # of picks for the Raven-Jets game is even with 11 picking each side. (I picked the Jets, but I hope I'm wrong) And in case any of my fellow Cowboys fans are wondering, 9 picked the Redskins and the rest had sense.
  6. Johnny Vander Meer, Cincinnati Reds. Correct.
  7. Who is the only pitcher in MLB history to throw back to back no-hitters, and which team did he play for?
  8. Not in the league, but I just want to say good luck to everyone. (I'm playing in 2 different leagues, myself, and sadly my better team is in the league that's going to be the hardest to win)
  9. I know its likely Boise State will win, because V Tech hasn't been worth a damn since they had a QB named Vick, but I'm pulling for the upset. So we can that `OMFG! Boise State for the National Championship Game!' shit out of everyone's head quick. The only reason I don't totally crap over the cupcake games is because its probably good for the cupcake/jobber schools. Think about it: Those schools probably get more exposure and definitely make more money getting their asses handed to them by a big name school than they would playing another podunk team that no one gives a damn about. And when the occasional upset happens, it does wonders for morale.
  10. It's not really a game that needs it, to be honest. Debating going back for a couple days because of this whole thing, but with PAX happening this weekend it's not like I'm really going to get much mileage out of it. Well, you should actually try to get some playing time in before its over to see what changes they've made and what's been added. The Ren Center re-design was definitely needed. (The best thing is that there are now 3 tailors instead of 1, so you don't have to worry about being crowded out when using the tailor)
  11. Well, if you (or anyone else) can't take advantage of this, PM when you can and ask for a referral (I'll also need an e-mail address to send the referral link to). A referral lets you play the game free for 15 days or so, but you're limited to reaching lvl 15 (max is 40). Playing through a referral is a lot better than playing the demo. (The demo is only the tutorial, and doesn't really give you enough of a taste of the game; you can only get to lvl 5 or 6 in the demo)
  12. So how long do you think it'll be before Manny either gets chewed out by Ozzie Guillen or the two end up in a fight? I give it two weeks at most. Was watching Mike and Mike In The Morning yesterday, and Greenberg said that the reality show the White Sox have on MLB Network is going to be must see tv once Manny shows up. And I'll have to look online to figure out when the hell that show is actually on. The damn channel guide/menu on tv just says `MLB Network' 24/7 when you look to see what's on, unlike the NFL Network, which actually lists what they're showing.
  13. I was watching some clips on Youtube, and I can't help wondering what would happen if someone using Drunken style Kung Fu joined the UFC. (Which would probably ban it, if it isn't already banned) Would love to see a fight between Anderson Silva and someone using it. You didn't expect it to end as fast as 3:12, but you were sure it wouldn't even last 2:30? I didn't read results, and the person who told me about the fight said it lasted just over 2 minutes. Apparently the fool can't count.
  14. Didn't watch it, but I figured Toney would get his ass kicked. I didn't expect it to end that fast, though. (I was sure it wouldn't last even half the first round, though)
  15. Yes, and its better than the Charlton Heston movie, Omega Man, which is also based on the book. And shit tons better than the Will Smith movie which has a completely different ending that changes the meaning of the title!
  16. The Vincent Price movie The Last Man on Earth was based on what novel?
  17. I'm going to go with 1. I know Rick Baker won the Oscar for designing Harry.
  18. That's what I'm thinking. I remember when they did that thing that prevented Billy from becoming the Gold Ranger, then bringing in Jason to be the Gold Ranger. The actor that played Jason was awful. Sadly, I have no idea what any of the original Power Rangers actors still alive are up to. (The actress who played the original Yellow Ranger died in a car accident after doing the second Crow movie) Last time I heard anything about Jason David Frank, he was heavily tattooed and doing MMA, but I have no idea how that's turned out.
  19. I bet Vikings fans aren't feeling too confident now. Yikes!
  20. Interesting. I've heard rumors that the original Black Ranger was gay, but nothing about the blue one. Go figure. Also, I remember reading somewhere that the reason he quit Power Rangers was because he was starting to lose his hair. Guessing that was just another reason or an excuse to hide the truth. But under the circumstances, I can see why he quit.
  21. If Daytime Emmys count, I'll go with General Hospital. Otherwise.....The Daily Show? (And I almost went with John Ford, too. He's actually my favorite director.)
  22. Nice. And you're absolutely correct.
