  2. *BZZT!* Nope. Leonard Nimoy was on the show much later as a character named Paris (don't think they ever revealed his full name) after Star Trek was cancelled. The actor in my question did the series he is more well known for a long time after Mission Impossible, but wasn't on the show for its entire run.
  3. Okay, I'm going to ask a classic tv question: Peter Graves was not an original cast member of Mission Impossible, so someone other than Jim Phelps was the leader of the IMF at first. Name the actor and the show that actor is more known for. (Naming the character he played on either show is optional)
  4. Laurence Mason. Crow = Tin-Tin. Prison Break = Sammy Another Crow/Prison Break connection, by the way: Jody-Lyn O'Keefe was in The Crow: Salvation.
  5. To show how off the casting of Keanu Reeves was for Constantine, the character's appearance in the comics was based on the singer Sting circa the late 70s.
  6. Finally got my hands on the Highlander anime movie and watched the first 8 minutes or so. Too bad they didn't/couldn't use "Princes of the Universe", but I guess it probably wouldn't really fit the movie anyway. Plan on watching the rest of it later tonight. Also managed to get a copy of Otaku No Video.
  7. Mike Golic took the conditioning test that Haynesworth keeps failing. Golic is 47 and retired as a player in 1993. Haynesworth is 29. *MEGA-HYPER ULTRA FACEPALM*
  8. I don't know if I mentioned it or not but I had to drop all my comic subscriptions through the comics shop I frequent recently. Mostly due to financial reasons, but also because I'm running out of storage. But I found out recently that a back issue of one of the comics I was reading is available to read/download as a .pdf for free, and I thought I'd share: http://www.kenzerco.com/free_files/kodt/KODT132_promo.pdf Current issue should be #165 or #166, but the series tends to run late at times.
  9. Welcome to May 2010 (Y) Blame it on my local paper. They never had a story about it before today and I frankly don't care about Boxing anymore because it needs some serious reforms.
  10. Sadly, I don't think anyone will pay nearly what they're worth, but $10,000 and the best offer was at most $400? That IS a joke. I don't expect to get nearly what I put into my cards or what they're worth, either. I'd estimate I've probably got at least $400 to $500 worth of cards, myself - and that's a low guess, considering what I paid for them. Oh, and at the last gaming con I ever went to, a Beta Black Lotus was destroyed as the result of a charity auction (there were `voting jars' to put money into; one to give it away, another to destroy it) and an unopened box of Fallen Empires boosters was tossed into a wood chipper after no one bought it at the auction. I can't remember if FE was the current expansion at the time or if whichever one came after it was. Some of the cards I know I have that *might* be of interest (if I don't say what its from, its because I don't remember): Demonic Tutor (Revised) Wrath of God (pretty sure its either Fourth or Fifth) Kormus Bell (same) Braingeyser Amnesia Most, if not all, Mana Batteries (from Fallen Empires) Obelisk of Undoing Stasis Reverse Damage (pretty sure its from Revised) I'm pretty sure I don't have an Armageddon, unfortunately. Got a lot more than those, but those are the ones I can think of offhand. I have cards from The Dark through Weatherlight expansions, but not a whole lot of cards from The Dark (got into the game just as the next expansion was coming out and only got my hands on a handful of Dark boosters), and Revised through Fifth edition. If anyone is looking for any cards in particular, PM me a list (don't post it here) and I'll look and see what I've got. But try to keep the list reasonable (ie, around 6 to 20 cards).
  11. James Toney has apparently signed a 3 fight deal with UFC, and he's going to fight Randy Couture in August. The deal lets Toney opt out if Toney loses the fight, but he's said he wants to stick it out if (more like when - Couture is going to kill him) that happens.
  12. i just might be interested in your cards. magictraders.com has a pretty decent price guide. look up some of your stuff or throw me a brief list. I've got waaaaay too many cards to go through and cherry pick them, but I'll try when I get a chance. Question about the price list on magictraders: do they called Revised something else? I don't see it listed, and I've got quite a bit of Revised cards.
  13. I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm a major Steelers hater, but I like his work an analyst and he's one of my top choices to be a future Cowboys coach if he ever returns to coaching. R.I.P. Mrs Cowher.
  14. My latest anime acquisitions (which I haven't gotten around to watching yet): Bought Saturday: Ai Yori Aioshi volume 1 Blade of the Phantom Master movie Bought today: Ai Yori Aioshi volume 2 School Rumble volume 1 The store has two sales going on: 1. Buy any new anime, get a DBZ double feature steel box for $5. 2. Buy 3, get 1 free sale on used anime. But I was short on cash and didn't see anything else I wanted that I could afford or that they actually had the first volumes of....and I'm not a big DBZ fan. (Still kicking myself for not picking up the Black Lagoon boxed set a few months back before my financial situation went down the drain) P.S. Is Beck any good? Someone I talked to who was also browsing the anime recommended it.
  15. Yes, he did. However, he's said his goal is be the highest paid offensive player in the NFL. That won't happen. He might eventually be one of the highest paid offensive players, but I can think of a few QBs *cough*Peyton Manning, Tom Brady*cough* and probably a few WRs who will still make more money than him.
  16. For movies I've seen on tv, I got to #27. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. For movies I saw in an actual theater, I got to Bill & Ted's favorite #, 69 (dude): Beverly Hills Cop III. Which should NOT be on that list.
  17. One thing I wonder about Irredeemable and Incorruptible: And have they done any flashbacks to before the Plutonian went nuts?
  18. I started playing during the tail end of the Dark expansion (only got my hands on 2 or 3 boosters from that) and quit during Weatherlight. My cards are in a storage box where they have been gathering dust ever since. I can't even remember the last time I opened the box, and the next time I do it will probably be after I find a decent price guide so I can put them on eBay. (Don't have a Black Lotus or any Moxes, unfortunately)
  19. Pardon me for the double post, but I watched Ming Warrior vs. Musketeer and thought it was one of the best matchups they've done this season. Again, didn't like the fact they had another siege/battlefield weapon in it. The Nest of Bees was a joke, and I couldn't help laughing when the Ming expert was trying to say it deserved the edge. Might be good in a large battle where you have dozens, hundreds or thousands of targets, but not in a squad battle and definitely a one-on-one battle.....unless you can manage to fire it at point blank range! Finally caught Vlad the Impaler vs. Sun Tzu, and its probably my favorite episode this season, even though I thought it was a bad matchup due to the question of Sun Tzu actually existing. Vlad is one of my favorite historical figures, and I've read The Art of War (though that was a long, long time ago), so I was really looking forward to it.
  20. I'm just glad its over with so all the shows on ESPN will have to find something else to talk about after this weekend (Because they'll milk it for all its worth; LeBron going to Miami will definitely be one of the topics during 1st and 10 on First Take, and Mike and Mike (well, Greenberg, anyway; I think Golic is off this week) will be talking about it with some reporters and experts. And Michelle Beadle on SportsNation will definitely have something to say. (I almost think she wants to fuck him!) Lebron seems to be the basketball equivalent of Tom Brady, when it comes to ESPN. Namely, the player they most like to give a verbal dick-sucking to. The only difference is Brady has actually won championships. I figured he'd go to Miami as soon as I heard they signed Chris Bosh, but thought there might be a chance he'd stay in Cleveland since its home state's team. The only teams I figured never had a chance of getting him were the Knicks and Nets. But the way I look at it is, the Cavs probably wouldn't be winning the NBA championship any time soon even if he stayed and the Heat now have a pretty formidable roster. At some point in a player's career, it becomes more about winning titles than money, so I can't blame him for leaving Cleveland for Miami. And Cavs fans whining are just sore losers like fans of any team are when a star player goes somewhere else where his odds of winning are better. Like someone on ESPN said, if he had stayed in Cleveland, he should have asked for a short term (2-3 years) contract and given them a chance to pick up some more key players, then gone somewhere else if they didn't win a championship. He's only 25 right now, so it's not like the clock is winding down on his career. I'm just glad no Western teams were really in contention for him, since I'm a Lakers fan. (And I wish the joke known as the Clippers would fold or move somewhere else) P.S. I hate the `King James' nickname. Might work if he ever actually does win some titles. Not as bad as Michelle Beadle's nickname for him, the Akron Hammer, though.
  21. The Tri-Star Godzilla movie isn't as shitty if you realize that its actually more of a remake of The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms and ignore the Godzilla name. (Its still a shit film, just not AS shitty) This, this, oh god this. Van Helsing is spectacularly grandly terrible like few other movies have ever been. It's consistently entertaining from start to finish just because of how bad it is. Well, that and the fact that Kate Beckinsale is absolutely fucking hot in it.
  22. I was checking on my fantasy baseball team on Yahoo and noticed an article about the All-Star Game. Charlie Manuel has picked Omar Infante of the Braves to be in the All-Star Game, despite their being more deserving players out there. To make things worse, one of those players is from my favorite team, the Reds. How the hell Infante gets into the All-Star Game over Joey Votto (or about a dozen other players) is beyond me. Hopefully, if there's one player left on the NL bench once the game is over, it'll be Infante, and next year Infante gets left out of the game out of spite even if he somehow actually deserves to be in it.

  24. I finally watched Persian Immortal vs. Celt. And October, I'm with you completely on your rant about that one. Slings should be banned from the show. Seriously. That episode was the third or fourth time its been used by one side, and its never very effective in the final battle. They might as well just concede the edge to the other side's weapon and not even bother testing. The battle itself was pretty cool - aside from the ending, obviously - and I like how they did show off the Celt's agility. Personally, I think Celt vs. Maori, Celt vs. Viking or Persian Immortal vs. Samurai would have been a better matchup. Obviously, Spartan vs. Persian Immortal would have been moot.
  25. There is no argument about McGann, he is the canonical 8th Doctor. They've shown McGann's face at least twice in the series now. There was a book with pictures (drawn, not photos) of the Doctor's past incarnations and McGann was one of them. And near the end of Matt Smith's first episode as the Doctor, they showed all the past Doctors - including McGann. Personally, I'd love it if there was some way to make some of the 8th Doctor's adventures outside the movie canon. Maybe some of the Big Finish audio productions? (But then I've never listened to any, so I don't know if there are things that would make that a problem)
