  1. They should be incredibly proud of the fact that this product is finished and made it to stores. That is very difficult. But it seems like they had years and years and a ton of resources to do this. This game should be far, far better than it is.
  2. Cities: Skylines sold over 250k in it's first day. That's fantastic news, and will also mean that there will probably be a ton of ridiculous custom content.
  3. To anyone wanting a bit of a different sort of game, I recommend Sunless Sea or Darkest Dungeon. Great games.
  4. I would love for there to be more transparancy in gaming journalism, so I tend to only go to outlets I trust - that's pretty much how I deal with the origin of the issue. The issue now is so, so far away from what it was "intended" to be, and anyone on either side trying to have that actual discourse is going to get nowhere because of everything that has come since then. Anita isn't going to engage with the GG group, even in a legitimate way, because she has had death threats and rape threats on a near daily basis for months. It is the equivilant of being pushed over by one guy and then another guy coming up to you to talk about why that guy pushed you over - it doesn't matter how reasonable the second guy is being, you aren't going to want to talk about it.
  5. This game is on about 200 meters from my house and it is LOUD.
  6. In Divinity EXP is a bit of a rarity as well, I found myself severly underlevelled during the middle parts of the game. Hero Siege is weird. I hate it so much. But I cannot stop playing it. Its progression is designed exceptionally well; you gradually get stronger and stronger so that you get further and further in the game (in theory) with each run. This in turn makes it one of the more frustrating games I've played in some time as well, I want to get further but at a point the enemies just fucking swarm you because you can't kill them fast enough. I hate it. It's great.
  7. Most sites seem to do it from whenever the finale was released, seems to make sense.
  8. Giantbomb's premium stuff is really great.
  9. I have a few friends on either side, but the PC will always win out over the 360 in terms of playing experience for me. But I far prefer my friends on the XBOX. Not that I rank my friends or anything weird...
  10. It's been just about long enough for me to forget how monotonous MW3/BLOPS2 were, and still remember that MW1 was serious fun. I'm probably going to get this. PC or console though?
  11. An awesome game, but currently has a crippling bug (for me anyway) where you can't get higher than level 2 very easily at all.
  12. Completed it on Tuesday. Great game and a fantastic proof of concept that will undoubtedly be iterated on in the future ad nauseum. Can't help but feel that it's missing something though, perhaps that's just me being greedy and wanting more from the game - but I feel the nemesis system could be improved by adding one extra layer of heirarchy to it. The bosses are also hilariously awful.
  13. From my experience and poor memory it comes from affinities. Without going in to too much detail; if you use a good piercing weapon that you've used all of your materials to upgrade to super duper strength, and you suddenly come up against someone who is really resistant to piercing weapons, you are in for a bad time. This is made more complicated by the fact that weapons gain affinity the more they are used on certain creatures, for example if you use one spear against undead all of the time it becomes better at killing undead - the counter to this is it starts to become less effective against the opposite race (humans). It's quite a bit more nuanced than that actually, but that's the general idea. The problem, as you can imagine, is when the enemies start getting stronger (and they really do.) you need armor and weapons that have been built to be strong against that race, as well as weapon types (Piercing, blunt, etc.) that they aren't strong against, and sometimes that just isn't possible, which makes certain fights really challenging. That's boiled it down to sound a little more basic than it actually is; the system is actually really fluid and the changes happen gradually and it's such a good game and it's on the PSN you say and well that's great thanks ive now lost my week.
  14. Vagrant Story is really quite uniquely fantastic, it does suffer from a lack of tutorial and explanation of its systems, which can really fuck you over later in the game when it gets fuckoff hard. Been replaying Baten Kaitos recently, music and gameplay are great but the voiceacting sounds so bad, both in audio quality and the acting itself.
  15. That trailer has made me more excited for an FF game than any has in a while, simply because it finally, finally looks like they may be taking the series (and with it, the genre) in a new direction.
  16. I've been playing this game pretty solidly for the past week or so, but then today I loaded the game up and looked at it and just thought "What am I doing?" I need another game.
  17. The original Golden Sun game was great. They also released most of the major NES/SNES Mario games on the advance. So go get Super Mario World (Super Mario Advance 2)
  18. Divinity: Original Sin is a wonderful game, all should play it.
  19. That's a ludikroosly good price. I hate myself.
  20. I honestly don't think biting will ever be considered severe enough to warrant a lifetime ban (as much as may be inclined to disagree with it). It is vile, disgusting and makes him look an animal child, but I don't think he'd ever get a lifetime ban for it; because it won't be considered life threatening. I do however think that the reprecussions for him for this third strike could be almost as bad as a lifetime ban, and I don't necessarily mean in a FIFA/FA sanctioned manner, he's now likely to never play for the upper tier elite teams because of this, and it will irrepairably stain his career way beyond the day he hangs up his boots. That being said, a global ban for him for a not-single figure amount of games has to be the bare minimum here.
  21. Spent a lot of yesterday reading about this; it's all a little mad how one person/organisation can be so completely detached from the entire genre that they are working with.
