I'm excited for all of these, even The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold. Which is a fucking great name.

I'm only a few hours deep into it right now, and I kept far too little notice of it on release so I'm unsure I'm afraid. I'm busy being kind of amazed that it's fun to play on a controller.

So, on the side of "Hey, I'm now surprised that a good Final Fantasy game has been released in the past 10 years", Final Fantasy 14 is actually very enjoyable. Go figure.

This does not give me great hope for FFXV. And I hold lofty expectations for that game.

I know EWB aren't huge fans of Reddit, but some of the stuff at reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon is actually hilarious.

Ibra's second goal against Leverkusen is quite lovely.

I've heard it starts really strong, but turns into a bit of a stealth game for the last third. Which sounds like it'd be frustrating as hell. Everyone should just play Jazzpunk instead.

The late PS2 RPG influx was full of some pretty good games: Ar Tonelico 2, Persona 3/4, Valkarie Profile 2, Suikoden V, Atelier Iris. They are all preeeeeeetty distinctly Japanese, but are all great games. Persona 4 especially.

Secret of Mana may well still be my favourite game made. Super Smash TV is also a fantastic game that will never not be fun.

That is a missed opportunity. Fuck that game.

If people like this game they should try a game called Cart Life, which has a similar idea of taking a 'mundane' job as the core of the game but basing a lot of factors and tough decisions around that core. I didn't enjoy it as much as Papers, Please (which is such an incredible success story for Lucas, considering he started making the game in November 2012), but it continues this awesome trend of job simulation game that's been cropping up over the past year or so.

The mission spawn rates can be all over the place. I had an abduction, invasion and UFO mission all within 2 days of each other, the abduction mission left me with 1 healthy rookie left because I ballsed my money up. Due to that I skipped both the invasion and UFO mission causing every single country but Argentina to hit panic levels. I restarted the game. Classic Ironman can fuck right off.

It's really quite frustrating to see how many of these new games have microtransactions in - Forza, Ryse, Crimson Dragon all have them (Killer Instinct as well obviously, but that's actually seemingly done in a smart way). Now I know the obvious response is: well you don't have to buy them, but I worry that this is going to set a precedent of balancing games towards these quick purchasable power-ups.

I thought Catherine was pretty bad to be honest - apart from the moments in the bar. The puzzle gameplay never really clicked with me and I thought the story started off dealing with it's adult themes quite well and then quite royally ruined that.

I must say that I am very excited for both Persona 5 and hentai streaming websites.

Either that or Catherine 2. I sincerely hope the former.
