  1. Williams clobbers Azarenka 6-2 in the first set but Azarenka's broken twice in the second to lead 4-1 on Williams' serve. Sounds like both of them are playing some great shots, it's just Williams is making more errors from the back of the court. Got the distinct whiff of an upset about it this one.
  2. Everything Everything's new one. As with everything else they've done, there are bits of it I really like and it's a bit addictive. But, to me, it's like the chorus, verses and bridge are from three different songs (especially the chorus), it's becoming a habit of theirs. The lead singer's falsetto is still a sticking point too. Love the opening and the "BAD! And it's creeping its way through my windows!" bit though.
  3. Was originally saying Djokovic-Federer final with Djok winning in 5 sets. As much as I'd love Andy to win, I still think Djok'll win in 5 - too strong, too determined and, above it all, too damn good.
  4. I don't think so, unless he bulldozes Weidman. Regardless of the result of the title fight, whoever the champ is'll need time to recuperate. They could put Boetsch against the winner of Bisping-Stann to determine a Number One contender, or maybe Jake Shields (seeing as he's the only other Middleweight of note with a winning streak atm). Boetsch's normal tactic of lulling his opponent by appearing beat then smacking them must be like a dream to a guy like Silva though, even with Boetsch's wrestling background.
  5. Weidman-Boetsch has been announced for UFC 155 too. Big litmus test for Weidman, IMO, any kind of convincing win and he's first pick for the winner of Silva/Belfort, surely?
  6. Nice to see that no matter who manages them, plays for them or what the score is, England'll always give me an excuse to yell at the TV some form of "JUST SHOOT, FOR FUCK'S SAKE!"
  7. Robbie Keane and Kevin Doyle with 2 goals in 2 minutes. Falling behind for a more dramatic victory? You crafty Irish buggers!
  8. Would like to see Leighton Baines get a few more opportunities for England - think he's improved at Everton defensively, would give us an extra option at set pieces and he's another player who can whip in a cross for Carroll. Gotta admit though that it would take a dip in form, like Matt said, or a long-term injury to Cole for him to lose his place - if he were fit for this game, Leighton'd be on the bench, after all.
  9. Would have been interesting to see if Carroll could have been incorporated into Rodgers' plans - just having someone in the centre to give something for Allen/Gerrard/Sterling to aim for and pull defenders away to give Suarez/Borini more room to operate. As Pesci said, the emphasis at the moment seems to be on nullifying Suarez - having someone of Carroll's stature up front could change that. Worked for West Ham against Fulham anyway.
  10. Gutted by this, only saw Green Mile for the first time earlier this year and he was amazing as John Coffey (like coffee but not spelled the same), couldn't help but be moved by his performance. Plus, he was easily the most watchable thing about Daredevil (besides Jennifer Garner's bum). Wasn't even aware of his original heart attack so it comes as more of a shock.
  11. So yeah...what'd I miss?

And yet when I suggested that, everyone was like "Noooooo! Let's do something else instead!" :(

Brad Harris is also president now apparently.

  12. Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) Jennifer Morrison (used to be on House) Sophie Winkleman (Big Suze in Peep Show) And much kudos to Rich and stok for the Christina Hendricks love. She's gawjus.
  13. Never been more happy to be proven completely wrong. Just spent an entire Russian history lecture frantically refreshing Orange's shitty cricket text commentary - from the sounds of it, all the bowlers picked up their game after the Windies powerplay. Bopara finishing with 8.4-2-22-2, that's fucking magic right there, and it looks like Swann bowled at his restrictive best. Just need South Africa to beat Bangladesh and/or India to beat the Windies and we're through. Craziness.
  14. Bloody hell, a maiden and a wicket for Tredwell. That'll do, pig. That'll do. Only problem is Sammy's still in and isn't Pollard next? A Sammy-Pollard partnership could be devastating. It's not Pollard, it's Devon Thomas. Phew?
  15. Further proof that LCS knows what he's talking about and I talk bollocks. EDIT: Tredwell's just got Gayle out but still, 43 in 21? It's going to take some amazing bowling to save us here.
  16. What the hell just happened, Timmy?
  17. Most of the posts BBC live feed (which I'm relying on because I'm on campus with no headphones) are shockingly optimistic about us beating West Indies here, citing a bad batting wicket...even though they were emphasising the quick outfield earlier. I'm going to reiterate what I said before, I think the West Indian batting attack is just too damn powerful for English bowlers and 244 to win is a reachable target. But, if the likes of the new boys Tredwell and Tremlett can get some early success (especially Tremlett with his bouncers), this could go really close. After all, the one guarantee about England in this World Cup has been that their matches are never dull. ^_^ EDIT: Also, Ravi Bopara's ability to frustrate me to my very core continues. I've seen him bat well and I know he can play some beautiful shots but he just never seems to fucking do it.
  18. Any scepticism I held towards this just disappeared when I saw Eddie Guerrero hit the Three Amigos, do a fucking backflip onto the top rope and then go for a crazy 450 splash. Good god, I want to play this game.
  19. Jade Cocoon 2 and Dark Cloud for me. Had both of them years ago, traded them in and now really wish I had them still.
  20. I totally agree with this - there are bits in Season 2-4 where I just want to punch him and keep punching him but he regains a little bit of sympathy in the later seasons. Also, fr34k, although this is probably just my opinion, his flashbacks do get much more interesting as time goes on.
  21. OOOH, THAT'S DIRT-EE!

Better now tell you where the lemonade's made, then. :(

  22. I'm not excusing the actions of United fans that chant about Hillsborough and Heysel - I agree they are bastards that shouldn't be let inside football grounds. But, a lot of it - at least according to the dickish Man U fans I know - is a response to the likes of Spirit of Shankly who sing songs mocking the Munich disaster. Sadly, in both cases, it's a small minority thinking they're in the right and making everyone else look bad.
  23. Oh shit yeah, forgot about Michael Yardy - I don't particularly rate the guy, to be honest, especially when you consider his form in the World Cup so far. Just had a quick check and he's taken 2 wickets for 159 over three games, and that's in 26 overs, so you're looking at over 6 an over. He also got 9-1-46-1 against South Africa at Chennai and had the worst economy of all of our bowlers (even Pietersen bowled more miserly). Gayle's a great opening batsman, but I'm just going off who is in form at the moment and that's Pollard and Smith. Plus, isn't Gayle injured at the moment? :/
