  1. Felt that Wigan were hard done not to get a point and the Reading result was absolutely brilliant.
  2. Plus Leslie Bibb is fucking hot. I just want to say right now that I have a chubby...
  3. I've got... GK: Paul Robinson (Hahnemann) Def: Michael Dawson, Kolo Toure, Paul Konchesky, Joleon Lescott (Arjan de Zeeuw) Mid: Morten Gamst Pedersen, Tomas Rosicky, Ousmane Dabo, James Morrison (Michael Tonge) Striker: Andriy Shevchenko, Wayne Rooney (Ricardo Vaz Te)
  4. Second half was nothing special but the first half performance was the best I've ever seen from England. I thought in particular that Downing and Hargeaves(have we slipped into some sort of alternate universe) were absolutely brilliant. Marked when Kieran came on for reasons unknown and once again Lennon looks class on the right.
  5. What about the last election which Bush won by the widest margin in like some 20 years? I'd like to think that was contributed by the fact that no one really cared for John Kerry's campaign and that any issue involving something "against religion" can be spun into a winning campaign.
  6. Ultimately you know they will. This is perfect for Italy, they now have a team to really bury to say "Hey look we mean buisness" and thus they can't get away with the preferential treatment that they are showing the big clubs.
  7. Wigan have snatched up Luis Valencia on a year long loan which is big time for them as he was awesome at the World Cup.
  8. This is off-topic I know, but does anyone else hate that it is called NFL Europe? It's really just NFL Germany.
  9. It was good. Much better than everything else they've done, which for me isn't saying much. That being said, I'm not blown away like some others in the thread are, but that may be because I've never really cared for them all that much. *EDIT* Listened to it again, the intro was nice but didn't tell us anything we didn't already known, Amy Lee can sing and that's already been proven. For me it feels like the intro was just spliced onto the rest of the song from something else, they don't seem to gel well with each other until towards the end of the sample. I'll reserve further judgments until when the cd is released. So far it's promising, and at the very least I'd give it a run through once to see if the rest of the tracks justify a purchase.
  10. You forgot to steriotype their greesy dago hair.
  11. Italy are a joke. Fiorentina(19 deducted) and Lazio(11 deducted) are back in the Serie A and Juve's point deduction is I think 17 instead of 30. What a fucking absolute joke. AC Milan are down to 8 instead of 15. I think that the Italian Football Federation should be ashamed of themselves because they have made an absolutely mockery of the game.
  12. When I first seriously got into the game like 4-5 years ago I just watched all the games I could and then figured out who I'd cheer for. I ended up cheering for Man City because it seemed like they were classic underdogs plus at the time they still had SWP and others. My secondary team was Liverpool but last year I switched to Wigan before the season started because I thought they'd be relegation bound and I always like an underdog. This year I'll be following those two and then sharing some interest between the three promoted clubs as well.
  13. Hopes: Barnet makes some good signings, get a money-spinning cup tie or two, and make the playoffs Fears: Barnet return to Conference.
  14. I particularly liked the Pokeman part and the Ahhhhhhnold part.
  15. As a Barnet fan listening to BBC London radio (online since I'm in the States) today's game was thoroughly enjoyable for me. Getting a draw was huge, but if we'd gotten the actual first team it would have been closer to 10-1 again.
  16. Source: BBC.co.uk I love the bolded bit. Just, just hilarious. "This country won the World Cup! Shouldn't be punished."
  17. That's the arguement I used. Even if Zidane hadn't made a prick of himself (as hilarious as it was to watch, there's no doubt it was a fucking stupid thing to do in a World Cup final), Trezeguet would've still taken a penalty. And he very nearly missed the (non-existant) penalty in normal time In the end, justice was served, and at least the World Cup final wasn't won/lost via a monumentally stupid refereeing decision, like most of the matches that lead to it were. Although again, you could argue that the French non-penalty was justice for the Italian one against the Aussies. Despite how it happened though, you can't really argue that, on the night. the best team won. France scored a non-existant penalty, and I can only remember one save Buffon had to make that had any realistic chance. Italy. in contrast, were great. They LOOKED like World Cup contenders. France looked (with the exception of Zidane, Vieria and in the second half Henry) like they were 5-0 up in a sunday league game. Sure, the Italians struggled a bit possesion-wise at the start of both halves, but the French never did anything with it save a few good runs from Henry (who finally flew in from London to replace his body double at half time). Most of their other chances ended in Lampard's from Ribery. At least one thing remained constant though: The FIFA Man of the Match made no sense at all. Andrea Pirlo? Was Cannavaro like an imaginary friend, visible only to people posting on message boards? And if not him, then surely Vieira, Buffon or Thuram, or even Gattuso? Pirlo did fuck all. Oh well... kinda sums up the world cup really: A team that can't be bothered to attack losing on penalties that they only got to thanks to a dodgy refereeing decision. Looking forward to watching Portugal at the Olympics though, they should clean up at the Skiing, because they seem to be awesome at going down fast. I don't really rate France's chances in the kayaking however. Sinking fast won't be a big help. Edit: I laughed.
  18. Isn't ironic that the only man who misses a penalty is Trezeguet...the same Trezeguet who plays for Juve...the same Juve who stood to lose the most with a French victory... Also note that former Juve player Zidane gets himself inexplicably sent off...
  19. Yea for Jonny now he won't have to switch the club he semi follows.
  20. Ugh what a complete waste of money. After Man City this is the club I have the biggest soft spot for, and they had made some good moves in the past, but this was an awful decision by Jewell.
  21. Luis Valencia deserves a mention, he was basically the spearhead of the Ecuador offense.
  22. My main beef with that was the fact that Pauleta ran straight to the referee demanding a free kick, despite it being blatantly obvious he'd fallen over.
