  1. I was thinking about getting one, but the price for them is bollocks, im not going to pay that when I can play them on the DS. The only reason I wanted one was because they look like they are much easier to carry around in your pocket than any other handheld. But £70 is too much for the convienience.
  2. Nope, they don't unless you're in waranty. Its been known for a while that they don't do it for free anymore.
  3. As long as people keep treating graphics as the most important part of the game then I really don't see the progress of them "hitting a wall" any time soon.
  4. Anything that Richey wrote whilst in the Manic Street Preachers. Right, his stuff might not always be perfectly understandable, but some of the lyrics are very fucked up.
  5. Very nice. I don't think you'll have any problems with that card.
  6. With bosses you see, is that you get much much more EXP from them than any other characters. The person who gets the killing blow will go up at least an entire level. 95% of the time, one of your characters won't be able to handle a boss by themself, they need to be backed up with other people dishing out damage. Usually, I used to just get Seth to go in, kick some ass, let someone else dish the killing blow. Particularly in the early stages, when your characters don't have enough chance of evading the bosses attacks. And yes, you aren't the only person that dislikes losing characters, most players restart entirely when one character dies.
  7. If it turns out to suck, then thats when I will really be annoyed. But I trust Nintendo enough to make it not suck, so currently im not that disappointed.
  8. Theres so many RPGs that are way ahead of Fable, its not even worth looking at. Considering I completed it in 2 days in two 3 hour bursts of gaming, and then couldn't even be bothered to do things like get married or nail someone, I wouldn't even recommend it to someone unless it was a budget title.
  9. Bah, Anthony was a shallow, boring geordie prat. Well thats my assessment of the situation anyway. And he was an idiot. One minute saying that the money really doesn't matter that much to him, then repeatedly going on about Eugene taking the 50k.
  10. I wouldn't. Developed by Lionhead? It'll come out in 2030 and still be miles behind everything else in the genre. Yeah, that was the geek reply.
  11. Theres another Fire Emblem game on the Gameboy Advance, which was simply given the name "Fire Emblem" in its Western release. Its much better than The Sacred Stones in terms of challenge, length and the story is light years better than the one in The Sacred Stones. That doesn't mean I don't like it though. I like a good turn based strategy game, I was hooked on Advance Wars, this is very similar to that. On the characters though...you'd be better off going to GameFAQs. My policy was to basically rotate as many characters as possible, have a balanced force. But the problem is, typically in a FE game, is that there are some characters that are fantastic, but there are a few that are awful and don't need much attention. Its not a hard game. Basically, just make sure that no character that you know you are going to use a lot, gets left behind. And don't use Seth a lot in the early stages. He'll get useful a lot later, but he'll just suck up XP he doesn't need at the start.
  12. Ah right, cheers for the info. Im still humming the national anthem right now.
  13. The minute The Dave Gorman Collection and his Astrology Experiment go on DVD, ill be buying them. Until then I can't provide him with the money he obviously deserves. Anyway, is Citizen TV on BBC2 straight after How To Start Your Own Country? Its just that the show has been knocked back to 10pm, and I don't see it on the schedules afterwards.
  14. I've been downloading the episodes of this and both of those Dave Gorman series that he did a few years ago, but the greatest thing I have seen this year is definately the national anthem.
  15. My brother rented both, I got a chance to play both of them. Brian Lara. By far. Its easier to pick up and get into and generally more fun to play.
  16. You're point would stand if none of those games used the touch screen or both screens. I'd like you to find games on the PSP that are played in the same way as Kirby Canvas Curse or Pac Pix or Electroplankton or Nintendogs. The Nintendo DS can be used to create innovative games provided that a games developer uses everything the right way. Despite what others think, the dual screen and touch screen aren't merely a gimmick but something that can inject much needed originality in a games industry obsessed with graphics and franchises.
  17. No. Nintendo are releasing the Gameboy Micro, a nice looking piece of hardware I must say so myself. Its basically just a new version of the GBA. Its smaller (hence the name) and has several backlight settings. Its not going to compete against the PSP, but Nintendo aren't trying to do that with the Micro.
  18. I haven't played on the PSP, but i'd get it for the fact that I can play so many different games on there because of prospects of emulation. But I have no disappointments with my DS. Sure the graphics aren't as good as the PSPs, but thats irrelevant to me anyway, I play games because they are fun, not because they look good. The fact that the PSP can be used to play movies or music also doesn't interest me, so im not missing out there. Im basically looking for the machine with the best games. Currently the DS out does the PSP for me. Yeah, the PSP has GTA coming up, but the DS has Advance Wars. Ill probably buy a PSP anyway. The games are region free right? I know the UMDs aren't, which doesn't bother me in the slightest because im not going to buy them anyway. Godammit, video games are going to cripple me financially. I bet ultimately I won't be able to decide which is better anyway. Tecnically, the PSP is better than the DS, if you only look at specs. But then again, technically the Xbox is better than the PS2 and the GC, but I play the other 2 more than my Xbox.
  19. He is ok, but gets repetitive really quickly. All he seems to do is shout a lot. Which is funny the first few times, but gets old. Theres plenty of better comedians out there.
  20. DMC3 is simply more stylish than GOW? Its more than that. DMC3 has a deeper, more responsive combat system that offers 10 times more variety than GOWs. Its faster, its more fun, you can do a hell of a lot more and its much more tense and involving and overall, fun to fight through. And the camera problems aren't as major as people like to point out. I also see nothing wrong with the arguement that games shouldn't be too short. I pay up to £40 for a brand new game these days, for games that will last me up to most about 8 hours and I will never bother to pick up and play them ever again. Granted yes, there are a lot of good games that can be completed in one sitting, but if I have no reason to go back and play it again, or no desire because the game is repetitive, then I really just think that potential has been wasted and that I have wasted my money. Pretty, short, repetitive. 3 words that sum up 95% of the games released this entire generation. And its just a trend thats going to keep up in the next generation.
  21. I love Requiem For A Dream. A lot of people recommended it to me after I realised that I really like bleak and tragic movies, and I definately wasn't disappointed.
