  6. I have to say, Paris Hilton is a never-ending source of amusement, i'll give her that.
  7. I dont know if this means anything, but Mark Hunt doesnt have a profile on the PRIDE site, and he didnt appear on this show, he does have a profile on the K1 site, am i paranoid? Anyone know what's going on?
  8. No one really complains that white people 'stole' Rock Music today at least, although some black musicians in the 50s might have been a bitter about how events played out, ie. rock music is big when it's performed by white people. In its original form, it does originate from the black community, rock music was a fusion of both black and white music. An interesting little set of paragraphs i found on jahsonic, a music culture site.... "Both [rap and rock] originated within the African American community and both were initially recorded by small, independent record labels and marketed almost exclusively to a black audience. In both cases, the new style gradually attracted white musicans, a few of whom began performing it. For rock'n roll it was a white American from Mississippi, Elvis Presley, who broke into the billboard magazine popular music charts. For rap it was a white group from New York, the Beastie Boys." And this from legendary Rock music critic, Lester Bangs: "Of course Rock’n’Roll is part of a whole tradition of American music that goes back. Really what I think it is the tradition of miscegenation. It’s that tradition of black and white, getting together to create this thing that reached it’s ultimate fruition beginning with Elvis. Well it carried on when Mick Jagger came out and sang all these Muddy Waters blues songs. And I guess it even carries on today when The Clash do ‘Police and Thieves’ a Reggae song originally done by Junior Marvin I think? And it’s a conditional tradition of miscegenation of black and white music coming together to form something new. . That is really vital and healthy" So yeah, although the roots of rock n' roll are in black music, the genre is much bigger than that and has so many different foundational influences no one can really claim it soley, one way or the other.
  9. I have to agree with Rammstein - Live Aus Berlin, also, Sepultura- Under a pale grey sky Bob Marley & The Wailers- Babylon By Bus Bob Marley & The Wailers- LIVE! Peter Tosh- One Love Peace Concert
  10. I agree on the LBW decisions, but how many of those were up to home umpires? The one they quote in the article, "Rudi Koertzen gave Adam Gilchrist a reprieve in the first over yesterday", Is a horrible example, a south-african with an australian bias?
  11. See my edited post up above yours, He's played VERY well in the VB series, and more than deserves his spot in the current side, on CURRENT form. Take a look at the stats i referenced, there's no way pakistan could justify dropping him. You say he had an ordinary series with the ball, in a team context he perfomed well. 5th best bowling averages in his team 3rd higest wicket taker in his team 1st (best) economy rate in his team And he's not even a specialist bowler, far from it, and he's out performed specialist bowlers in the team, when coupled with his excellent form with the bat (avg. 43.5, SR of 170!), there's tonnes of players they need to drop before him, and NO ONE better than him that is not already in the side.
  12. Anyone think Yokoi (a Zero-One worker), has a chance against Sperry? My guess is probably not (Yokoi is 1-2 in PRIDE), but i dont know anything about Sperry, despite his apparent fame.
  13. I wasnt hating on Shoaib, chill I was merely making an observation, that as a team, pakistan have been playing alot better since he left, it seems as if the rest of the bowlers, rana in particular, have really stepped up to fill the void his departure left in the bowling attack, and i never mentioned sami
  14. Is it just me or has Pakistan improved ALOT since shoaib went home? Rana in particular.
  15. I fucking knew symonds would fall short of his century, no matter how much i willed it, unlucky. I agree about the LBWs, there must have been at least three that should have gone pakistans way, then again, they did drop three catches in the field (maybe more?). I'm glad Clarke got out for a low score, maybe that'll take some pressure off, since he'd been going insanely well lately, combined with his Alan Border Medal victory, everyone had huge expectations for him, maybe now people will realise the guys' human. Who got man of the match? I didnt see the end, i hope it was symonds, he played really well, Inzy is in killer form too, he's probably been the most consistent batter in the tournament.
  16. Hmmm beside from Reggae/Dub which everyone probably should have gathered already i also have to admit to being a Norah Jones fan, i'm also into electronica like Crystal Method, Vangelis, Asian Dub Foundation (do they count?), various types of heavy metal, particularly thrash & death metal, The Haunted, Brujeria, old-school Sepultura, Nailbomb, Devolved, and Isis, anyone heard of them? No idea what catergory of metal they'd go into. I also like Bjork, not sure what genre she would be classed as either. And thanks to the GTA games, i'm starting to get more into rap as well, Ruff Ryders, NWA, Ice-Cube, stuff like that. I'm also a big fan of 70s folk, namely bob dylan, and psych-rock, The Doors, The Beatles, John Lennon, and um, that's all i can think of at the moment
