Finished Astral Chain. Pretty solid game but nothing mindblowing. There's some cheap BS to deal with but otherwise not that difficult. The story is the best part of it although it does get a bit predictable at times. I do wish they made it less difficult to upgrade the Legions, or at least give me a reason to ever want to use more than just the starter in combat 99% of the time.

Interesting USL development: In a recent match between Miami FC (the good one) and Pittsburgh Riverhounds, an egregious referee error caused a Pitt goal to be disallowed ending the match in a 0-0 draw. Normally it'd be "tough luck, guys, this shit happens", but... As a mostly neutral observer here, this is the right call. Extraordinary circumstances merit extraordinary measures.

Been playing Astral Chain lately. Really fun stuff, but I wish the character customization was deeper. I want to buy more clothes and make my supercop even more out of place.

City of Heroes is the only MMO I've ever genuinely enjoyed, and one of the few online multiplayer games at that. Also 2D game Salt and Sanctuary is the few Soulslike games I enjoyed as well.

Even if they would have a blind man with tremors as a medic in the first place, why the hell was she doing *anything* on D-Day nine months pregnant? Even then, WHAT THE FUCK WAS UP WITH IT TURNING INTO A FUCKIN SNAKE? The best solution I can come up was that it was that MGS3 was actually either a dream or a VR mission, but there's no source material that confirms this. Though the latter would make sense considering a lot of anarchonisms.... or it would until MGS5 had Venom Snake with a fuckin' iPad in the 80s and could transport goats via wormholes.

I still plan on giving it another spin down the line, so when I do I'll let you guys know if I notice anything special. Hopefully they at least fixed how Atheltics XP is gained by then.

yeah, fair. on that note, what the hell was up with The Boss' scar? not just the whole "somehow turned into a snake" thing, but the fact that it even looked the way it did in the first place. all the MGS lore I've read and I still can't figure out what the fuck was that all about.

I mean, it has a great story in that it's a frustrated creator trying to kill his most famous creation in order to move on, only for it to turn out to be such a resounding success that he resigned himself into it being his life for the next 14 years. But otherwise it's the worst MGS by far.

Funny thing is, it was my first MGS game. So actually it didn't bother me in that respect. What bothered me was him, compounded by the obviously more awesome guy I played as in the first chapter, the incredibly annoying escort missions, but ultimately how it made no fucking sense to the point where they spent most of MGS4 trying to make it make sense with retcons. And also trying to make Raiden cool, which just made him even more obnoxious by turning him into the worst aspects of 90s edgelordiness all wrapped into one. The only reason I even played the others is because I already had them in a bundle, and the only reason I didn't play MGS1 first was because I couldn't find a PS1 memory card. MGS3 gave me reason to eventually get the means to play 1, and then later 4 and 5.
