Another one I like is Quietdrive's cover of Toto's "Africa". Turns out the song works really well as a pop punk tune: (Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTQbiNvZqaY) Ten Second Songs has already been mentioned here. My favorite cover of his is System Of A Down's "Chop Sue" in the style of Swedish Occult Rock band Ghost: (Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSvFpBOe8eY) Another fun one is DragonForce's take on Céline Dion's "My Heart Will Go On". We definitely need more Power Metal covers of Pop songs: (Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNsm2P0l_7Y) Motörhead did a bunch of covers over their career. My favorite is from their last studio album "Bad Magic" on which they covered the Rolling Stone's "Sympathy For The Devil": (Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgnClrx8N2k)

The first one is a cover of Aerosmith's "Dream On" from the "Not The Same Old Song And Dance" tribute album. It features Ronnie James Dio on vocals and Yngwie Malmsteen on guitar. It isn't too different from the original and Malmsteen's fretboard wanking can be a bit much but I love it nonetheless. Dio has a great voice for ballads and more somber songs. A shame that he barley ever recorded song like that. (Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-2u2lhGO4w) Then there is Peter Gabriel's version of "The Book Of Love". I discovered the song through the Scrubs series finale. It's beautiful. The original is good as well but the orchestral arrangement and Gabriel's vocals elevate the song to something amazing. (Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FtbrDFgB_4) Another Cover I've always been partial to is Seether's version of George Michael's "Careless Whisper": (Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izGwDsrQ1eQ This is a cover by Van Canto, a German a-capella metal band (yes, this is a thing that exists). They covered "Into The West" by Annie Lennox from the "Lotr: The Return Of The King" Soundtrack: (Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvF31-2bVNE) And finally a Queen cover. Metalium's Cover of Queen's "Show Must Go On". The original is perfect of course but I think this is very well done as well: (Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t99KH0TR-J4)

Back in 2004 an Australian comedian too the lyrics of the Cannibal Corpse song "Rancid Amputation" and created a lounge music arrangement of the song. That was done in response to Australian politicians wanting to cancel their upcoming tour:
  4. They are rebooting Digimon Adventure in April. According to Anime News Network the show will feature an original story and not simply be a remake of the original anime. Source: Anime News Network The new movie "Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution", which takes place five years after Tri, will be released in Japan on February 21. It will screen in select theaters in the United States on March 25. Source: Anime News Network So the 02 kids will be on this although the main focus appears to be on the 01 kids judging by the trailer. It's not ideal but realistically this is the best scenario fans of Adventure 02 could hope for. The trailer is dope though.
  5. As far as nostalgia goes Adventure 02 is as important to me as Adventure 01. I know 02 has it's fair share of problems and that it isn't as highly regarded by Japanese and international fans alike. But writing them out of the show in just a hamfisted way and not even bringing them in for the grand finale just feels wrong and disrespectful. We don't even get to see them. We only see their silhouettes in one scene. They couldn't even be bothered to come up with updated designs for them for that one scene. And that is all they needed to do. They didn't need to animate them or hire voice actors. But apparently that was still too much effort. If you going to just ignore 02 you might as well do what they did with the most recent Halloween sequel and ignore everything that happened after the original show entirely.
  6. It's not that good. And they completely ignore the 02 kids. I was very underwhelmed by the whole thing. I hope the next series of movies they do will be better. At the very least they have released aged-up version of the 02 kids as promotional material so they hopefully won't ignore them this time around.
  7. Agreed. But I also feel that it is kinda unfair to compare the two. The Pokemon anime is basically a promotional tool for the games that they can keep going for as long as they keep making the games. And they keep everything as simple and streamlined as they can so nobody has troubles getting into the anime even if they haven't been watching since episode 1. All you need to know is that Ash is trying to become a Pokemon master, that is traveling the world with his Pikachu and 2 interchangeable companions to reach that goal and that every now and then Team Rocket will try to steal his Pokemon and you are good to go. There is no complex plot, no character development, no deep lore and the stakes are low (except for the movies). Digimon on the other hand had a more detailed plot, more interesting characters who go through changes and who have relationships with other characters that develop over the course of the show, deeper lore (especially when you get to later seasons), high stakes and most important of all: an endpoint. The show isn't designed to be open-ended. And with the exception of Digimon Adventore 01 and 02 we never meet the same group of Tamers twice.
  8. He announced his retirement in 2015 due to health issues in an interview. Initially Geddy Lee claimed that Peart was misquoted and that he was taking a break. However in 2018 Alex Lifeson confirmed that Rush were officially done.
  9. There wasn't any news about it. He kept it private.
  10. Rolling Stone reports that Rush drummer Neil Peart passed away last Tuesday at age 67. The cause was a brain tumor. He had been battling brain cancer for the last three-and-a-half years. Statement by the band:
  11. Nope. Just Triss. There is a journal entry that you get if you import a Witcher 1 save and chose Shani over Triss in which you learn that they broke up amicably because Geralt wasn't ready to settle down. Which totally makes sense to me. I'm not upset about that. But the same journal entry also states that after their break-up with Shani Geralt needed comforting and found solace in Triss' arms. And the first scene of the game is Geralt in bed with Triss. Despite me choosing to kick her to the curb in the first game. I get that for the story of this game Triss needs to be on speaking terms with Geralt but did they really need to make them a couple again right away? If they were just going to disregard the choice I made then why give me the choice to begin with? Also they only added the journal entry for the enhanced edition of the game. If you bought Witcher 2 when it was originally released and imported your save in which you chose Shani you wouldn't have learned about that at all. As if she never existed.
  12. I'm so pissed that they wrote Shani out of Witcher 2. Screw Triss Merigold. I'll ditch her as soon as I get the chance.
  13. The Mandalorian takes place in between episode 6 and 7, right? Major spoiler for Rebels.
  14. Radar Online are reporting that Ozzy Osbourne is on his deathbed. His daughter Kelly Osbourne denies the report in an Instagram post that has since been deleted (at least I can see it on her profile). I really hope this isn't true. But when the first reports of Dio's passing were published his wife/manager also initially denied them before officially confirming his death the next day. Edit: TMZ posted a video that was recorded yesterday in which Ozzy is out and about with his wife. And Ozzy himself made an Instagram post about it. So this really seems to be fake news.
  15. Made it too. No Last Christmas this year. But I did hear Do They Know It's Christmas Time wile fixing a radio.
  16. I finally watched Solo. Good movie. Both Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover nailed as Han Solo and Lando Calrissian. So far I have enjoyed the side stories more than the main movies. A shame that they won't be making any more of these.
  17. After thinking about it for a few days and reading what other people had to say about the movie I have come down on the side of liking TROS. There are some things in it that didn't work for me but as a whole I had a good time watching it.
  18. So far I haven't heart Last Christmas and Do They Know It's Christmas. But I did hear All I Want For Christmas yesterday in a store when I bought a new mouse for my PC.
  19. I've watched a lot of videos defending Last Jedi recently and after watching it again I still can't say that while I particularly enjoy it, but I can see that they put a lot of effort into it and I can appreciate them trying to do something different and not relying on nostalgia so much like they did in the Force Awakens. I view it like the prequel trilogy: A decent concept that has been shoddily executed.
  20. H20 has it's flaws but I feel like if they had stopped to make Halloween movies after that it would have been a decent send off for Michael and Laurie. Of course since the movie was successful they couldn't simply leave it at that and had to make another one with what has to be one of the most ridiculous retcons in movie history. And can you believe that this franchise has spawned 5 different timelines? 1. The H20 timeline (1, 2, H20, Resurrection) 2. The Thorn timeline (1, 2, 4, 5 and Curse Of Michael Myers) 3. The Halloween 2018 timeline (1, Helloween 2018) 4. The Hallwoeen 3 timeline 5. The Rob Zombie timeline
  21. Edit: Never mind. I figured it out. I completely forgot about that character. About the post-credit scene of the last episode:
  22. Another thing about the Jedi: Fallen Order ending:
  23. A thread to discuss Star Wars video game since there have been so many and because the current titles aren't platform exclusive. And hopefully because there will be a lot more with the success of Jedi: Fallen Order. I just finished Fallen Order. Great game. Only minor gripe I have is that
