  1. But wouldn't that basically be like every other story about a misfit in school once the novelty of him not knowing how the non-wizard world works wears off?
  2. A more in-depth look at Gellert Grindelwald, his reign of terror, his relationship with Dumbledore and Dumbledore's change of heart would be interesting as well.
  3. Speaking of Candlemass, they're going to release a 4-track EP in celebration of their 30th Anniversary in June via Napalm Records. It will be the first Candlemass release to feature vocalist Mats Leven who is probably most known for his stint with Yngwie Malmsteen in the late 90s as well as the his involvement with Krux and Abstrakt Algebra, two projects founded by Candlemass founder, bandleader and bassist Leif Edling when Candlemass was inactive. Edling, who isn't going to play with Candlemass this year citing health issues as the reason, has started yet another side-project called "Doomsday Kingdom". There is not much known about the project yet but it's by Leif Edling so it has to bee good. Here the announcement:
  4. I don't know. It could be interesting if they ignore all the fanfic-y stuff Rowling said that would take place after the books. You know, the stuff where everyone got married and lived happily ever after and Hermione single-handedly rights all the wrongs in the world of wizards.
  5. Reba McClane is her name. I think this is the strongest portrayal of her character of all the three adaptions (the other 2 being Michael Mann's "Manhunter" and Brett Ratner's (of all people) "Red Dragon"). I think Richard Armitage was the best Francis Dolarhyde we had as well.
  6. I agree with you that the first half of the Season didn't work at all. That was utter shite. But the 2nd half, their adaptation of Red Dragon, was, up until the final episode, very good. They just ruined it with the final episode.

  8. So this means there probably won't be any Hannibal-related project in the future. Can't say that makes me happy. I really wanted that show to get a proper ending. The last episode was so anticlimactic. It didn't work as a good ending to the Red Dragon arc, it didn't work as a season closer and it sure as hell didn't work as a series finale.
  9. To be honest I did enjoy playing it as well. And I'm going to enjoy playing the DLC when it finally is released. Even if they're not that good these Bethesda open world RPGs are still addictive as fuck. But if you play it for a while the cracks begin to show. Same as with Skyrim which I quit playing after a while. The main reason why I didn't quit Fallout 4 is because I enjoy the setting much more.
  10. Don't forget that the story is utter shit. But that is to be expected by a Bethesda game. They did improve the companions though. Much better than the bland mercenaries you had in Skyrim and, with a few exceptions, Fallout 3. Still not as good as those in New Vegas though.
  11. I know they haven't been Metal in a while but Avantasia (Rock Opera project by Edguy singer and mastermind Tobias Sammet) have entered their song "Mystery Of A Blood Red Rose" from their lastest album Ghostlights into the preliminary TV casting show to choose the candidate to represent Germany at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. To be honest I'm not a big fan of the song. And I doubt that it will be successful in Sweden. I don't think it's catchy enough.

  15. I've just rewatched Season 3 of Crossing Jordan. The season was pushed back from 2003 to 2004 and only consisted of 13 episodes because of lead actress Jill Hennessy's pregnancy as opposed to the usual 21 to 22 episode runs of the previous two seasons. While watching I noticed something odd: The final episode of season 2 ended with a HUGE cliffhanger regarding Jordan, her father, her half-brother and Woody. And they don't resolve that until the final episode of season 3. They don't even mention it in the episodes preceding it. And then when the season finale finally rolls around it's like no time has passed between the events in the finales of Seasons 2 and 3. For example over the course of Season 3 they introduce a new female coroner to the cast who is suddenly nowhere to be found in the finale. They don't mention that she is off-duty or home sick or on vacation. She is just suddenly not there anymore. Also Season 3 isn't some kind of prequel Season either. In the 12 episodes leading up to the finale they're working cases like usual. I was confused so I checked Wikipedia and according to their episode guide it wasn't just the season finale that should' have been the season opener. The entire season was aired out of order from a continuity standpoint. Does anyone have any idea why they did that?

  17. I really hated that part. He was great. I wanted more of him. He would've been the perfect Joker. And the way the scene was exicuted was cringeworthy. Especialyl the voiceover of his father or whoever that old guy was (can't remember) was so over the top even for this show. For me one of the weakest moments of the 2nd season. What a waste of a good character.
  18. Love: Machete Like: Conair Hate: Spy Kids 3-D Hate-like: I don't know. Most of the stuff I've seen from him I either liked or disliked. Lock-Up maybe.
  19. The former Dio & Rainbow and current Last In Line Bassist Jimmy Bain has reportedly passed away at the age of 68 according to several sources within the industry. These sources are former Dio and AC/DC drummer who posted about it on his Facebook page as well as Diana DeVille who works for Wendy Dio's Niji Management on her Instagram page. So far there hasn't been any confirmation by his current band or his family. But there have been several tributes by musicians he knew including former Dio and Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich, Dave Mustaine and former Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell. Jimmy Bain was born on December 19th 1947 in Newtonmore in the Highland council area of Scotland. He played in several amateur bands there as a teen. When his parents relocated to Canada he joined them only to return to Scotland shortly afterward. He then joined the band Harlot 1974 and remained with them until he was asked by Ritchie Blackmore to join Rainbow in 1975. With them he recorded the studio album "Rising", which was released in 1976, as well as the live albums "On Stage" (1977) and "Live In Germany 1976" (1990). His stint in the band wasn't long though as he was fired by Blackmore in 1977. In the summer of 1978 he founded the band "Wild Horses" with former Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson. They released two albums in the early 80s for which in addition of playing the bass he also provided lead vocals. During that time he also wrote songs for several artists including Phil Lynott' for his two solo albums. He even played bass on one of the songs on Thin Lizzy's "Black Rose: A Rock Legend" album. He was also featured on Gary Moore's Dirty Fingers album that was recorded in 1981 but released 1983 in Japan and 1984 in Europe. In late 1982 he was asked by his former Rainbow bandmate Ronnie James Dio to join his solo band simply named Dio. He remained with the band until 1989 and recorded a total of 4 studio albums with them. While with the band he and guitarist Vivian Campbell also came up with the idea to start a charity music project similar to Band Aid and USA for Africa but with Rock musicians. They forwarded the idea to Dio and founded the project Hear 'n Aid which produced the single "Stars" that featured musicians from bands such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dokken, Quiet Riot, Blue Öyster Cult, Queensyche, Ozzy Osbourne, W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister, Mötley Crue, Journey, Yngwie Malmsteen and Nightranger. After leaving Dio he appeared on the debut album of the band World War III together with his former Dio colleague Vinny Appice and soon to be Dio guitarist Tracy G. He re-joined Dio for a short amount of time between November 1992 and March of 1993 but left the band without recording any records. In 1996 he tried to get his own band "The Key" off the ground without much luck. He rejoined Dio again in 1999 and recorded the albums "Magica" (2000) and "Killing The Dragon" (2002) before leaving again in 2004. In 2005 he crossed paths again with Appice as they worked together on a project called "3 Legged Dogg" which also featured Vinny Appice as well as members of Lynch Mob and Quiet Riot. Most recently he joined his former Dio bandmates Vivian Campbell, who hasn't played with a metal band since leaving Dio in 1985, and Vinny Appice plus Lynch Mob singer Andrew Freeman in the band "The Last In Line" to perform songs they wrote together with Dio. Their debut album is scheduled to be released on February 19th via Frontiers Music. These are two of the songs from their upcoming album: Martyr: Devil In Me:
  20. Rage have just released the music video to their new song "My Way":
  21. The forgotten Black Sabbath singer Tony Martin (from 1987 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1997) attended the unveiling of a memorial plaque dedicated to Cozy Powell (who was mostly known for his stint in Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and The Jeff Beck Group and who had stints in other bands and artists such as Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, the Michael Schenker Group, Brian May, Robert Plant, the short lived Emerson, Lake & Powell as well as Yngwie Malmsteen). Black Sabbath guitarist and founding member Tony Iommi was there as well. In recent years there was some tension between the two about some unflattering passages about Martin in Iommi's autobiography. But according to Martin he was greeted very warmly by Iommi and they had their first conversation of any lenght in 15 years. He also says that he and Iommi may very well be working together soon. We don't now what they will be working on and the "may" indicates that they might not work together at all, but to me this is good news. I've always been a fan of the Martin-Era Sabbath albums and I think it is a shame that this incarnation of the band received to little attention. I think the most likely reason for them to work together is to provide bonus material on the 4 remaining yet to be re-released and re-mastered Sabbath Albums featuring Tony Martin. Of course I'd love for them to work on new music together whether that be for a Iommi solo release, Martin's next solo album that he is still working on or maybe even a Heaven & Hell style reunion with musicians from that era. But I doubt that will happen since their is not enough interest in this era of the band. Still, as I said above, this is good news to me. If you want to know what Sabbath with Martin sounded like: and
  22. It can work on the big screen. The Dredd movie from 2012 was good for a dumb action movie. Kinda like the Raid with big guns instead of martial arts.
  23. Black Sabbath have announced that they're going to release a CD named "The End" which will include 4 outtakes from the "13" Sessions as well as 4 Live Tracks. It will only be sold at the merch stands during their "The End" tour. Tracklist: 01. Season Of The Dead 02. Cry All Night 03. Take Me Home 04. Isolated Man 05. God Is Dead? (Live Sydney, Australia 4/27/13) 06. Under The Sun (Live Auckland, New Zealand 4/20/13) 07. End Of The Beginning (Live Hamilton, ON Canada 4/11/14) 08. Age Of Reason (Live Hamilton, ON Canada 4/11/14)
  24. I'm kinda surprised to see Mad Max nominated. But other than that it's very predictable again.
