  1. its nice to know we can still have stuff like this even with VAR
  2. I'm biased, obviously, but I'd reckon Arsenal and Villa will burn themselves out faster than Liverpool and we could end up in another tight City vs Liverpool run-in. Being in the Europa League might give Liverpool a slight advantage but tbh I'm expecting City to hit their stride second half of the season and win the league.
  3. This week I learned that Alexis MacAlllister was born on Christmas Eve. While Gary McAlllister was born on Christmas Day

    songs with sequels

Just a few that I can think of straight away, avoiding songs that were written as companion pieces and put on the same album. I Know You're Out There Somewhere by The Moody Blues Sequel to: Your Wildest Dreams Sequel by Harry Chapin Sequel to Taxi. Metamoros Banks by Bruce Springsteen Sequel to Across The Boarder Felina (From El Paso) and El Paso City by Marty Robbins Sequel to: El Paso Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie Sequel to: Space Oddity The Death of Sis Draper by Guy Clark Sequel to: Sis Draper Going Invisible 2 by The Mountain Goats Sequel to: Going Invisible Going Invisible is an unreleased outtake whereas Going Invisible 2 was released on an album. The latest Mountain Goats album Jenny from Thebes is a sequel to their 2002 album All Hail West Texas. I believe Leonard Cohen's song Chelsea Hotel No 2 has a precursor Chelsea Hotel No 1 but there isn't an official version of it. Of those, the only outright stinker IMO is Sequel by Harry Chapin. I like Harry Chapin but that always felt a bit flat and forced to me.
  5. I think Lindsay Ellis' Yoko Ono video is one of the best videos she's ever made. You can see a preview of it on YouTube
  6. You can get all the videos that a creator releases to YouTube on there in better quality than on YouTube. You'll get them early and in some cases they might be a little different than in the YouTube version. (Longer and in some cases less edited for YouTube). They seem to be growing their exclusive catalog. Of the creators I tend to watch: There are 7 or so Lindsay Ellis videos that are Nebula exclusive. Sarah Z had a class about debating, there's a few Polyphonic videos that are Nebula originals, and Big Joel does a load of little Nebula-only videos. Patrick H Willems has a few bonus videos, his movie, his holiday special and generally his regular videos have a longer Nebula cut. There are a couple of extra Philosophy Tube videos (Abigal Thorn's play The Prince and a BTS making of her show documentary). I believe Thorn's movie will also be on Nebula when it comes out. My girlfriend got this subscription for me so we could watch Patrick Willems' Night of The Coconut and Maggie Mae Fish's series about sex in film. I do have to remind myself to check it and use it sometimes, ngl, but I'm slowly starting to use it more. You can get a life time subscription to Nebula at the moment for €300.
  7. i've also had zero interest in looking at his video (the clips in the Hbomberguy and Todd in the Shadows videos we enough) and so the above is all I saw We watched the Patrick H Willems Christmas Special on Nebula last night. It is a delight. Also Lindsay Ellis has dropped a video about Yoko Ono and the Beatles also on Nebula.
  8. I don't pay a huge amount of attention to him. I just saw "AC Milan have asked Barcelona for Clement Lenglet situation for January window." and I thought that sounded very much like "this is my second language" in a way that I hadn't ever picked up on from the few tweets I've seen. It's also the only one of the posted tweets with that weird phrasing.
  9. I imagine he's not a native speaker but Romano's English always been like that? Some of those read a little ... odd.
  10. I looked up Steven Schumacher on wiki and they note he is still the manager of Plymouth.
  11. Very boring game. Man Utd aren't very good and Liverpool had an off day. tbh, I don't think Liverpool have played well in a lot of games recently it just happened that in this nothing really happened in front of goal.
  12. Wild that Johnny Evans is playing in a Liverpool/Man Utd game in 2023.
  13. We started a re-watch of Monk last night and discovered that a Monk movie just came out on Peacock last week. I also reminded myself that Monk is a show that boasts guest stars such as Willie Nelson, Korn, Meat Loaf and Snoop Dog. As well as having an episode written by Jon Wurster from the Mountain Goats. Not to mention two Randy Newman songs were written for it.
  14. I still can't really believe that Roy Hodgson is still going.
  15. IIRC those went pretty soon after the video dropped
  16. Looks like James Somerton's YouTube channel is gone.
  17. James Somerton owns two very expensive cameras he doesn't need and doesnt know how to use. All his talking head stuff looks like absolutely garbage.
  18. one thing I noticed about James Somerton was how he just wasn't interesting to listen to or watch in any of the clips I saw. I dunno if I'm one to talk, I'm aware that I'm naturally a bit deadpan and low energy so whenever I'm performing I at least try to seem a bit more energetic than I am IRL. I've got 1,500 subscribers and haven't made a video in a long time now, but it makes you feel things to see people ripping other people off and being successful. At most, I just feel vindicated for every footnote, citation, and bibliography I've ever done for a video even if I didn't always do. It wasn't a thing people really did when I first started doing the videos really.
