  1. I only really listened to Sgt. Pepper at the start of this year to discover that I'd heard all the tracks elsewhere. Great album, ahead of it's time and my top three would be: Getter Better, Little Help From My Friends and The Benefit of Mr. Kite. And the only Oasis albums I can stand are Definitely Maybe and What's The Story (Morning Glory). And I've always been a fan of the latter...
  2. I've tried and tried and tried to like Xiu Xiu. Apparently every band I like wants to suggest him; but I just can't get into it. It tries my patience a lot and...

I've decided you have the best music taste ever.

  4. I'm quite liking Owl City. But I actually thought it was Ben Gibbard when I first heard it...
  5. Los Campesinos! Copied and pasted around one million times. Only one CD I'm waiting for next year - and it's them.
  6. It airs tomorrow night on Sky1 over here with a double bill. I can't wait. *is giddy*
  7. This fucking bastard level? If so, then yes, I agree. Fucking ridiculous level, I did it a handful of times without switching character. Yup - that's the one. I want to know if I can campaign about whether it can be classed as child abuse.
  8. I think out of all of the books - this will probably make the better movie because the book as a stand alone story wasn't really strong. The whole half-blood prince story and Voldemort's background would probably be better condensed in movie form. I'm looking forward to this one...
  9. The original Turtles game that I played on the C64: THE UNDERWATER DAM BOMB DIFFUSION LEVEL. My God the five year old me was once reduced to tears by how hard it was.
  10. There's an official one called The Black Mages who have a very interesting cover version of FFX's Otherworld that has to be listened to at least once... In FF news - I'm playing FFIV on the DS and enjoying at the moment. The PSX version remains the only FF I've actually unlocked everything toward and beaten all the bosses/weapons on and I'm enjoying this so far. I like the cut scenes and the narrative is still strong. Even if Cecil's voice sounds iffy.
  11. I made it through to the half way point of the first episode. A bit too quirky for my taste...

    Trekkies!

I enjoyed watching Voyager. I loved Robert Picardo as the Doctor (and basically including him in the majority of the episodes was always a good plan) but as Keith said - they really missed out on a lot of potential and they had some annoying and boring characters like Neelix, Kes (who's voice actually has the same effect as nails on a blackboard) and Chakotay (zzzzzz - I though leaders of militant rebellions were supposed to be dynamic and charasmatic?). They really didn't just take the plunge and go for a more serialised approach. They started to take these on as the show developed; and there were some great episodes (The Hirogen remain the cause for the best episodes in my opinion), and despite the ending - Year of Hell was riveting viewing. Some people hate Voyager with a militant passion, which is something I don't get. If there's an episode on I'll still watch it even if miss annoying-as-hell (Kes) has a main role in it. And it still is my favourite Star Trek show.

    Memento

That's the moment I realised that I loved this film. I really do. I actually can't find the DVD extra that shows the film in the chronological order of scenes ; and it's annoying me because it's supposed to be in the three disc collection I have....

    Max Payne

I loved the game, and the trailer catches the look and the music perfectly...I'm just not sold on Mila Kunis as Mona.
  15. Ack....can't choose. Love them both too much....
  16. I think this proves that Nathan Fillon and Joss Whedon need to get married and make babies. And by make babies I mean have him write and he act; because they just seem to sync together brilliantly it's unreal. And: "The hammer is my penis." - Just a classic Whedon line of dialogue to join a long list of classic Whedon lines of dialogue.
  17. I don't what sold me more. The start of the trailer which sees Jon trapped...or the Nite Owl flying machine that comes out the water. And then constant clips of action that mirror the look of the comic book... And then Doc Manhattan appears and my God he looks flipping amazing on film. I'm curious to see how they're going to handle the story near it's climax but other than that it looks the beesknees.
  18. I'd really doubt they'd risk a reboot. Considering how well 1 + 2 came off I'd doubt they would. That said, playing the Spider-Man 3 game; I think a movie in which Spidey has to try and tackle the Lizard but stop Kraven from killing him might work. The emotional angle? Perhaps Petey is finding himself getting more spider-like and that there's something going up with his mutation and then you have an underlying theme of whether Spider-Man will lose his humanity and end up becoming an uncontrollable humanoid spider. Or something like The Lizard... And the more I think about it...the more I'm beginning to wonder whether the Sinister six would work...
  19. I personally think they buried the Venom storyline too much; and I do wonder what the story would've unfolded as if they went with the original plan of Sandman and the Vulture. But I think that they really shouldn't try and build on the baggage of Spidey-3 and try and build up something new. In my eyes Spider-Man has got three arch-nemesiseseses in Goblin, Doc Ock and Venom. Now all of them are gone - so I think that they should try and get things going and build on Spider-Man's massive Rogue Gallery. I personally think Lizard/Connors should definitely be something to work on because they have that emotional connection that Sony seems to love so much. But as a two-movie story-arc? I doubt it'd fly.Unless they develop their own version of the sinister six. The only problem is who'd run it since the Doc's...well, dead. And I've always thought that an opening action sequence where Spider-Man defeats Rhino would look brilliant...
  20. I loved Season Two. For some reason, Michael works better when he's channelling Richard Kimble than Andy Dufresne. His ability to think on his feet and improvise is better utilised on the run; which is why I think Season Four will be better than Two.
  21. Fun House and The Chucklehounds. Ahhh Fun House. I still watch the old Gladiators on Challenge when I can, but this new version seems...I dunno. Where is it held? I miss the NIA (in Birmingham!) and some of the old events. I think they lose time and pacing with the long winded intro showing the Gladators names again (that's what the title sequence is for) and the fewer events. THe water is just...feels wrong. The atmosphere doesn't feel all there and the contestants themselves are absolutely shitacular at most of the games. Not to mention the Eliminator, while still having some excitement - the whole switching around of some of the stuff is a bad idea - as well as the swimming. And Hang Tough has turned into a joke. It's shorter, and the fact that if the contestant is not a certain height, then they can't make it to the final pad. I think that's happened at least twice now... AND the theme tune's changed. But at least they still have John Anderson. Leg End.
  22. All I need is to read the name 'Jenna Haze' and right wrist suddenly twitches involuntarily.
