There was a quote I saw the other day that was words to the effect of 'Starfield really gets going after 130 hours' and...just no, That coupled with the way they're hyping up that there's this vast number of places to explore does give the sense that they're just padding the game out for the sake of it being big rather than just delivering a refined experience. What good is it to have 800 different planets to explore if they're all just copy pasted? Personally, I'm not on the hype train for it but I'm sure it will be fun to mess around in in that FAllout kind of way where I just pick a random direction to wander off in and find what's out there with no chance of ever finishing the story.

RUTTER SCORED A GOAL, THIS IS NOT A DRILL! EDIT: Good result in the end, even if we made it a bit more difficult than it needed to be. To be able to start with a front 4 of Sinisterra, Gnonto, Rutter and Piroe is certainly going to inspire some fear within defences at this level and it's paid off with each of them scoring. Hopefully it only gets better from here once everyone gets familiar with one another, with Piroe being new and Sinisterra/Gnonto obviously having disrupted pre-seasons. Still need that new left back though with Byram going off injured and Drameh lasting about 15 minutes before being hauled off himself. That aside though, feels like that will be a huge lift getting the first win on the board, Piroe having an immediate impact and us looking dangerous going forward in general, even if the defence is possibly as shaky as ever.

Joel Piroe has signed for Leeds. We've actually signed a striker and haven't been gazumped by a Premier League team at the last minute as we all feared. And an actually decent striker at this level no less. Plus Gnonto and Sinisterra might be staying. We're a left back back and maybe some CM depth away from actually salvaging this window.

Yeah, you'll definitely get your moneys worth at that price. You'd just need to temper your expectations as it's not really anything revolutionary, just a solid 7/10 sandbox game. If you think you'd be annoyed by zany millennial types then you might want to give it a miss. The main characters were fine to me but I know a lot of people couldn't get on with them and the dialogue.

So what is it? Overlap FC is the in game team for EWB in the Clubs mode of EA's EA Sports FC 24 video game, the new name for EA's long running FIFA series. The team plays on the current gen systems; PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC. Through the wonders of cross play, players from all 3 eco-systems can play together. Dan James with the assist and Rutter has a shot that is vaguely close to the goal, what a time to be alive. I know the teams we've faced so far all have their own issues and aren't exactly turning up any trees but it's at least some comfort to be in the game despite a weak team with pretty much no offensive options. Hopefully we can actually get some bodies in before the end of the window, sort the outs that need to go and actually get some stability. Defitnely need to get a win sooner rather than later just to give the club a lift, feels like we've been in a downer mood since the back end of the 21/22 season.

Pro clubs cross play...Dragons/Vikings crossover?! Sounds like they're adopting the game cycle from NHL where you have the playoffs each season. Having a reset every period, I can see the benefits of that. Reaching Div 1 and just being stuck of that cycle of trying that win that over and over can get a bit samey. You get that cheap dopamine hit of going up the ranks everytime this way. Plus, as little of a challenge the early days of the old Div 10 was, it was always fun to smash the less skilled players for a bit in the early days of the game before really settling in to the challenging opponents later on. And I can see it being a bit more social in the sense that you might not want to risk letting someone new in when you're in Div 1 so you pratically have to win every game to stand a chance of staying up or winning the title, kinda takes away that 'win at all costs' mindset.
