  1. Square Enix came out like, last week, and said they considered it a failure based on internal sales projections. Granted, they're the publisher and not the devs, but still.
  2. Or, seriously, give Finn Jones another chance under a competent showrunner. The series got noticeably better once Scott fucking Buck was ousted as the showrunner after S1. People dunk on that show way too much, it wasn't THAT bad. I still don't see the hype around Daredevil, I just found it boring honestly. But I'll give it a proper watch once it's on D+. I still maintain that Jessica Jones S1 is the best thing Netflix did with their Marvel stuff.
  3. It's basically HBO trying to do a mature CW teen drama. I like it, but it's not for everyone. It's worth trying to get into, though. That said, the Season 2 finale was very disappointing. You wanted closure or more insight into these stories you've been following the entire season, and then you end up with a bunch of stuff that's pushed to being resolved/expanded on in the next season but, hey, don't worry, here is a 10 minute scene with a side character nobody liked where he sings a song to Rue. I'm convinced his record label got involved and paid HBO/the director to include that.
  4. I would have bought it at launch if it was a game where you could play as any member of the team. But just Star Lord? Heavy discount or GamePass. So this works out just fine for me. Also, Kentucky Route Zero, so that's pretty great as well.
  5. That's great, but it's been like 3 years since the last season so I've forgotten almost everything that's happened in the show thus far.
  6. I bought a 4K TV specifically for this game tbh so I'll sacrifice framerates for it. I really only need 60fps if it's an FPS game.
  7. Unless someone is deaf, that’s clearly who it implies it is, and it also lines up with leaks as well. That’s likely not even the craziest cameo of the movie, either.
  8. Agents of SHIELD is leaving too, and I assume that’ll end up on Disney Plus. If they make the Netflix universe cannon, I can see those going there as well.

    GTA VI

Jason Schreier of Bloomberg tweeted out that he wouldn't be shocked if they announce GTAVI later this fall with a release date of 2023 (then inevitably gets delayed until 2024).
  10. Dakota Johnson is Madame Web, according to Deadline. Most likely the Julia Carpenter version, though.
  11. Sony is putting something like $1.3b towards an employee retention program for Bungie.
  12. March? Fuck. I don’t know if it’s good, or bad, but because of the pandemic and it causing delays and stuff, all of these games are now releasing really close together. That’s good, because we’re finally getting a steady stream of current gen releases, but also my bank account will hate me for it over the course of this year and beyond. Sifu, Horizon, Elden Ring, Ghostwire, Forspoken, Midnight Sons. All I need now is Pragmata to announce a release date, and then the AEW game… ughhh.
  13. Rocksteady has quietly delayed Kill the Justice League until next year, Bloomberg is reporting. I’m starting to think one of the big studio acquisitions is going to be AT&T/Discovery/whoever selling off Warner’s game division, maybe piece by piece, maybe the whole thing. But, in any event, by the time this game comes out, Rocksteady won’t have released a game for 8 years. I was looking forward to this more than I was Gotham Knights, honestly. Damn.

    WWE 2K23

I'm really torn between hating and kind of liking the new camera angle for in-ring stuff. Before it always felt weird, but this is too zoomed in, but I also still like it? I don't know. I need DenkOps and Pulse to get their hands on it and hear what they say. And see if there are any major bugs like with 2K20. If it's all (mostly?) good, then I'll probably get it in April or something. The graphics are really fucking good, though. Geez.
  15. This was posted yesterday and it's already out of date due to the Bungie acquisition. But Bungie joining Sony has more to do with their technology that Sony wants, instead of making games apparently. And another part of it is that Bungie joined up with Sony because they want to expand their IPs into film & television.
  16. Mythic Quest is easily the best thing Apple TV has, sorry Ted Lasso.

    WWE 2K23

wasn't basically all of that trailer in the other trailer they posted late last week??
  18. holy shit, Search Party took a wild fucking turn.
  19. Evangeline Lilly was at the anti-vaxx protest last Sunday in DC. The one where RFK Jr compared vaccine mandates to the Holocaust. Gross.
  20. I liked UFC4's career mode, but the training, as always, is super tedious. I can barely remember UFC3, so it might not be new, but you can create friendships or rivalries with your training partner(s), and befriend or talk shit about people on their version of Twitter (which leads to fights/feuds). Oh, and friendly reminder that Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep isn't eligible for the PS5 upgrade if you claim it through PS Plus.
  21. Oh yeah, that was a good one too! But I actually struggle to remember any standout episodes beyond the two I mentioned, and I guess that one. The Winds of Winter was just holy fuck moment after holy fuck moment. While I'm interested in the House of the Dragon prequel, I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish we were getting an "Arya Stark explores what's west of Westeros" series instead. Arya was just a fucking badass in this show, I loved her. Easily the best Stark child, hands down.
  22. I didn't mind the first half of the last season (The Long Night was a great episode, I thought) but oh boy, those last few episodes were... yeah, not the same show as the previous seasons. It all went downhill during the S7 finale, and just went further and further down. Characters killed under different circumstances then anyone would have wanted or expected, and story wrap-ups for others that were just baffling. I think my favorite episode might be the S6 finale, or the Long Night from S8. I don't feel like I wasted my time really, but I can see why people were fuming when this season aired. All those years and time spent following the series, only for it to end like this. Very disappointing. That said, I'm interested in the House of the Dragon prequel. Probably won't follow it week to week, but I'll binge it once a season is over for sure.
  23. I'm not going anywhere near the thread until I'm done with the show, but I just want to say that Game of Thrones is awesome. I'm on S7E2. Is this where it supposedly goes off the rails, or is that S8? Because I've loved mostly everything so far. Peter Dinklage, and especially Lena Headey, are just amazing in this - holy shit. EDIT: S7E7 - ah, yep, there it is. The train is about to go off the rails.
  24. I've always heard bad things about X-2, but I've never played it myself. But it focuses on Rikku and Yuna, whom I both love, so I might have to actually give it a go one of these days.
