Tomb Raider (2013) topped out at around 3.5 million copies sold, but they thought they'd get 5-6 million.... in four weeks. To put this in perspective: The Last of Us released that same year, and sold SLIGHTLY more (like 30k). Nobody is out here saying Last of Us wasn't a success, probably because Sony didn't have unrealistic sales goals for it. I get that Tomb Raider is/was an established IP and maybe they were banking on that to sell more copies, but 5-6m in a month is kind of fucking insane. Avengers is in the same boat, it was on the best selling games of the year list in 2020. It ranked higher than stuff like NBA 2K21, Mortal Kombat 11, Tony Hawk 1+2 Remake and Miles Morales. And it was ONE spot below Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Is it that these games weren't financially successful, or that Square had too lofty expectations? They thought Sleeping Dogs could sell 3 million copies - not to knock that game, it's great, but that's crazy talk.

Legends of Tomorrow has been cancelled by The CW. So is Batwoman, but I think a lot of people checked out of that shit pretty early on (or after S2).

I haven't gotten the DLC (waiting for the Season Pass to go on sale, which is what I usually do for any game), but I saw some clips of Umaga on the WWEGames subreddit and his selling looks spot-on (crazy flailing arms and whatnot). I'd really only be interested in Umaga and Yokozuna from this DLC pack, the others are ehhhhh.

I’m still making my way through Valhalla on Xbox, and started up Odyssey again last night on PS5. Origins is the Egyptian one, right?

Last few minutes of today’s episode feels like the MCU channeling the Legion show from a few years ago. I liked it. The show took a turn, and I expected it since I read leaks, but I was still surprised at exactly how weird they went with it.

There is a $4.99 option if someone wants to only unlock all arenas, wrestlers and titles. But yeah you also do get it if you buy the season pass. I've definitely had singles matches that were five stars and it was more than 225 VC that I earned. Shit, I've gotten more than that by LOSING a five star match.

Yeah I went through some more of the women's MyRise. I still don't like how stuff only happens through social media, but whatever. William Regal making FOUR fatal four way matches, where the winners of each face each other... in a fatal four way match, to determine the #1 contender for Rhea's NXT title is certainly a choice. Weird that NXT held a Takeover event a week before WrestleMania too. But anyway I beat Rhea, turning heel before that, and now I've entered into an alliance with Scarlett & Kross. People want to complain about tag matches, but holy shit do mixed tag matches suck even more. The women can attack the men, but the men can only... yell in confusion at the referee to break up a count? What? Scarlett is somehow booking mixed tag matches to get us warmed up for the eventual match against Johnny & Candice (which is only going to be for the NXT men's title??) and these matches last like 30 minutes. It's insane.

It's at least post Infinity War (after 2023), given that there's big ol' ads for the Global Repatriation Council (as seen in Falcon & Winter Soldier).

Did we know Trek to Yumi was getting a Day 1 release on Gamepass? I have it on my Playstation wishlist, then I turned on my Xbox a few nights ago and saw it was being advertised for Gamepass. I guess I don't need to buy it on PS5, then! Also I tried out Guardians of the Galaxy and man is it wonderful. The combat isn't the most engaging, but everything else is so, so good. They absolutely nailed the characters and tone, and I like the story too. Lady Hellbender is bae. Only weird thing is that I'm on... chapter 5, I think? And I've only found maybe 4 outfits so far. It's not like I'm not exploring every little area, either. Maybe I'm missing the hidden ones.

I don't suppose you guys have adjusted the sliders yet? I think before I did, the AI reversal rate was something insane like 80/100 or something like that.

Remedy is remaking Max Payne 1 & 2. Financed by Rockstar, developed exclusively for PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC. Won't be sold as individual titles, but a bundle of both games. And it'll be running on Remedy's Northlight engine, which powered Control.

Yeah the zombies or whatever they end up being were in the teaser trailer at the end of No Way Home, and the Superbowl spot as well.

Ms. Marvel will be the first MCU D+ show that's entirely TVPG rated. WandaVision's first few episodes were at that rating, but (presumably) the entirety of Ms. Marvel will be PG. Which is perfectly fine, since this isn't a character that even needs to be TV14 (much less TVMA or anything). Interestingly enough - by the time that show debuts, she'll be the third teenager we've had in the MCU that is a superhero. Spidey was around 15 in Civil War, and America Chavez will most likely be around that age in Multiverse of Madness. (Kate Bishop is in her early 20s, Speed & Wiccan don't technically exist in the sacred timeline yet, and Shuri is either 16 or 18 in Black Panther depending on who you choose to listen to)

Going online with these WWE games is a fucking nightmare since most people use 100 OVR CAWs instead of balanced ones, or actual characters in the game. I have an AEW Universe save that I haven't even started playing yet, I'm just adding CAWs to it as I find them. I've got a good chunk of the roster already. My other Universe save is a generic indie that runs in a high school gym, using most of the released WWE talent from last year, some original CAWs I found, a few joshi, some smaller AEW names, and legends like the Outsiders, Booker T, etc. It's pretty fun, actually.

Jushin Liger was originally planned for Rey's Showcase mode, which is why the Starrcade 1996 arena is in the game. Pretty sure Rey's gear from that PPV is in the game, too.

So they don't have to be paid royalties, probably.

This is me for the past like, 6 months or something. Maybe there's one game a month I'm interested in, but then I'm basically paying $10 for it since I only use PS+ for the free games. Just not worth it, not yet anyway. I'm very happy they finally bundled Now & Plus together, and the highest tier having (more) older games is worth it. Probably no trophy support, but that's okay. Then you've got things like claiming Ghosts of Tsushima Legends if you don't have the base game causing errors to an upgrade path if you do decide to buy it eventually. I'm fucked either way on that one, since I had a physical PS4 copy but now own a digital PS5. Which makes me wonder why they haven't addressed that for digital PS5 owners, or at least individual publishers. Credit where it's due: Respawn/EA did us digital PS5 owners a good deed with Fallen Order if you had a physical copy last generation. All you had to do was enter your PSN username or something on a website, it verified that you had a locked disc copy of Fallen Order, and gave you a download for a digital version of the game for free. Then the PS5 upgrade was free too.

I found a really good CM Punk w/ trunks and his ROH/Revolution gear. But the moveset was WAY off - doing standing moonsaults and stuff. The CM Punk by Dre is good actually, but for the purposes of this game I wanted him with trunks. Any time I see a good CAW on r/WWEGames, I save the post so I can go back to it later. There is a guy who specifically does late 90s WCW guys - he has a really good Giant, DDP, Raven and Sting.

apparently the game crashes if you use more than 34 custom renders, though. I don't think I've ever had that many CAWs at one time though.

probably doesn't help that midway through development the entire team had to switch focus to a first person shooter instead of a third person RPG and had to basically build an engine from the ground up
