I just remembered another game that I loved that has recieved horrible reviews. The game I'm referring to is Pit Fighter, an old arcade game converted to Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo.

The reviews I've seen for it have been "Worst fighting game ever" "This game sucks" "Graphics and Controls suck ass". But honestly, this is my favorite fighting game ever, I fucking loved the concept of brawling in underground parking lots and bars. The control scheme was also easy, A punches, B kicks, C jumps. A and B together picks the guy up and you can carry him around a throw him. B and C together was an effective drop kick, and all three buttons did your characters special move.

And honestly, the graphics were solid for their era. They were obviously going for a more realistic look, which isn't exactly the easiest thing to pull off on a Sega Genesis system, but the game still looked fairly decent. The added crowd that could be attacked on certain occasions was an extra treat.

Maybe some people are just bitter because they sucked at this very challenging game.

I am gonna echo the Libero Grande love, that game is still one of the most fun games I've played. You can play the same type of thing on PES5, with fixed player control and pressing a certain button to makae them pass to you.

Gun. Lots of people shat on it, but I thought it was the best Western game I've played in years. Leagues better than that piece of crap Red Dead Revolver.

I'm with you hear, I loved the game. I agree with Koupa in that it was way too short though. However, the game was ton's of fun. I loved being able to use a bow and arrow as a weapon, especially one with a piece of dynamite attached to it.

It was good fun shooting a citizen in the face with an arrow and then watching them explode.

The dueling pistols on horse back was also a hell of a lot of fun. It almost reminded me of a slimmed down version of GTA meets the old west.

Star Trek: Birth of the Federation and Star Wars: Rebellion (aka Supremacy). They're the same type of poorly-executed galactic strategy game, but I still love playing them. Especially Rebellion/Supremacy. Once you develop Interdictor cruisers those Rebel scum can't run from Star Destroyer death any more!

Rebellion > *

I could never really play as the Rebels. Such goody two shoes. My favorite tactic was to put a Death Star over Coruscant, put up the Death Star Shield, and then it just became a waiting game.

Pfft, naw. If you've got a Death Star (which, let's face it, you've only built for fun because your military power is so amazingly awesome anyway), what you do is you send it (and accompanying fleet, probably consisting of at least two Super Star Destroyers...just for shits and giggles) to absolutely every system in the Outer Rim. One by one. If you come across a Rebel-held planet, regardless of whether its the HQ or not, take 1.5 seconds to enjoy blasting any piddling excuse for space defence before BLASTING that planet into oblivion. Repeat as necessary with every Rebel planet you find. You can even do it in the Core Systems if you like, provided you have enough diplomats on standby to smooth everyone else's ruffled feathers.

And thus plays the SW: Rebellion adaptation of the classic NTF, or 'Nuke The Fuckers', stratagem...

Ultimate Soccer Manager (always quite rightly got overlooked by Championship Manager and Premier Manager)

You could visibly improve the ground, place food stalls, magazine stalls, give bungs to other managers...Genius!

The other great footy management game was Player Manager where you could play yourself as your team went up the divisions!

Great idea.

Flying Dragon. It was a fighting game for the n64 that got something like 5.8 in Gamespot, but I loved it. It had a Tekken-like game engine and SD Hyriu which was a big headed, deformed 3d fighters mode in which you could win/buy items that would give you new special moves or bonuses to attack or defense. You could trade them trough memory pack with a friend or battle a friends creation. Me and my best friend loved that game and spend hours on it. The tekken like mode was pretty decent too, hard to master and with cool combos and had something of a ranking system like Virtua Fighter 4, but it was the cartoon like Fighter/RPG mode that we had a blast with. How this game did so low with what could be considered two games in one? It's not like the N64 was home to many good fighters....

I remember that game.

Actually, it's a continuation of a series of Arcade/NES games called "Hiryu No Ken". The first one made it onto the original NES, called "Flying Dragon" :shifty: ; it was a fun but difficult game, featuring two modes. One where you journey to a tournament, then fighting in said tournament. It was followed up with two sequels in Japan, one of which made it to the US (called "Flying Warriors")

what you do is you send it (and accompanying fleet, probably consisting of at least two Super Star Destroyers...just for shits and giggles) to absolutely every system in the Outer Rim. One by one. My "Let's fuck the Rebels" fleet was generally a SSD and 6 ISD2, an interdictor, a few lancers, 4 escort carriers (2 with Interceptors, 1 with Bombers and 1 with Defenders), and of course, the Death Star (Loaded with Interceptors). I would usually always have Thrawn as the Admiral of the fleet (Who else would it be :pervert: ), and then go on a sight seeing tour. It's amazing how fast loyalty shifts when you blow up the Rebel HQ.

Also, another fun thing I loved was making a rim sector into my industrial zone. One planet for Training, One for Ships, one for Construction; all advanced yards. Then, I'd have one planet in said sector as a super prison. A shitload of shields, lasers, and Dark Troopers.

Good Times.
