Its not hard. You vote for someone and then say "and I am also looking at this guy." It provides info at a glance.

And any mod that cant tell a FOS from a VOTE shouldnt be a mod.

I thought the point of Newbie Mafia was to help newbies get good at mafia, not to throw in too many twists to make gameplay worth a damn and to laugh at the newbies for being bad at mafia.

I'm not the biggest fan of them either usually... but it fit with the theme I was using for the game and is making the game more interesting in my opinion, but im running and not playing, so I could see why you might think otherwise...

Yeah but some games have day phases that just drag on forever(particualrly these days) with fuck all being discussed or. even worse. the craziest and most tension filled dick waving contests ever.

At least a day kill provides an opportunity to break up the monotony/tension.
