According to various rumour sites, Jermain Defoe must be attempting the record for visiting all twenty premiership grounds in the least time possible, he's already done 12

And the entire Barcelona midfield has flown into Newcastle, all on separate private jets.

Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Mohamed Shawky and allowed Jason Euell to join Southampton. Shawky, a 25-year-old Egypt international, impressed Boro boss Gareth Southgate after joining on trial last week. He has penned a three-year deal at the Riverside after Boro agreed terms with his previous club Al Ahly. Boro will pay £650,000 for the versatile midfielder, who joins countryman Mido at the Riverside.Southgate created room in his squad to sign Shawky by allowing Euell to leave on a free transfer.

EDIT: Portsmouth midfielder Gary O'Neil is undergoing a medical ahead of a £5million move to Middlesbrough.

Villa sign Davies..on loan with a view to a permanent move next summer.

Why loan? =/

Either you can't afford the fee they're asking for at the minute or you just want to see how he goes. If he plays and sucks or is injured all the time, the reported £9m will have been a waste.

The Baggies wanted it to be that way, actually. It's rumoured there's no get-out clause for either team, and he will become a Villa player next summer. Very pleased with that. If I was O'Neill, I'd be tempted to play Mellberg at right back, and Davies and Laursen in the middle, with Bouma on the left.

O'Neil is a good buy for Southgate, great player.

From a Baggies Site

"According the Guardian we have asked for it this way. I think someone has said there is a time clause on the monies we would have to pay Luton. The loan might (if this is the case) take us over that barrier and therefore allow us to keep the whole fee."

If this is the case the Luton board have alot of explaining to do. What an idiotic decision from them. No wonder WBA held out for so long. That is, if this is true.

1655: LIVERPOOL in/LYON out

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! More than four hours since a signing in the Premier League but finally ladies and gentlemen we have a transfer to talk about. Not sure who he is, but 19-year-old midfielder Damien Plessi has joined the Reds. If he goes on to big things you'll remember where you were when he signed. He's the bloke who snapped the boredom. S Sumra has texted to tell us this fella's the "new Zidane".
