Nah, Kimahri's involved chasing blue butterflies in Macalania Woods. I hated that and never finished his weapon, despite powering up all the others.

Exactly! I'm glad I'll finally have a reason to get some of those stupid weapons, no matter how pointless that reason is. I kind of look at Platinuming these games as a reason to do everything it has to offer again. It's like when I was younger and set my own goalposts for it - this time around, I'm going to doing all the Dark Aeon stuff or whatever.

One thing I'm going to have to check up in advance - simply because I remember forgetting it until too late when I last played through FFX many years ago - is exactly what period of the game you're able to get one of the pieces for Tidus' celestial weapon before Dark Bahamut gets planted in front of it. Because, you know, fuck that guy.

Dark aeons appear after you beat Yunalesca IIRC.

Ah, found it. Apparently the window of opportunity is minute...

The Sun Crest is found at a place called The Beyond in Zanarkand after defeating Yunalesca. The player must head to the back of The Beyond and descend a broken flight of stairs: they will be teleported to another corner of the room, and the chest containing the Sun Crest will now be at the top of the stairs they just descended. In the European and International versions of the game, if the player does not obtain the Sun Crest immediately after fighting Yunalesca, they must defeat Dark Bahamut to get it.

There's a few cases like that. I seem to recall one of Auron's spheres is in Besaid, but if you don't get it at the right time, you'll have to beat Dark Valefor to get inside.

I'm getting really impatient now. Impatient for this game that I've completed a number of times already. It makes little sense.

Although, I finished The Stick of Truth and need to distract myself from football with other games (i.e. not FM ), so ideally FFX would have arrived on Saturday. But noooope, have to wait until this coming Friday.

I am also getting antsy. I've booked work off for Friday, Monday and Tuesday, giving me five days to play them. I'm not sure I'll be able to complete Lightning Returns before it arrives. I've completed all the main quests, but I still have lots to do. Might just rush to the end and keep a save where I am that I can come back to for 100%ing.

Are you playing on normal or easy? If you crushed Caius, then odds are you might be ready.
