Yeah I usually slow down once I get the full party to level up everybody to around the same level. Taken me 16 hours up to where I am but I doubt I'll move for the next 4-5.

EDIT: Plus I burn out and never finish the game. I swear I'm at Memoria in IX and right outside the Giruvegan in XII and I haven't gotten around to finishing either one. Which reminds me, where is a good spot to level up in IX before attempting Memoria? Cause I'm gonna get around to it eventually.

On FF8, is there a way to actually beat the big mech spider on disc 1 and have it not chase you through Dollet?

Yeah, plenty of lightning, limits and Qezacotl (sp?), don't worry about the time limit, just pound it as hard as you can first time. Not really worth it though, since the whole chase through Dollet is awesome and all you get is a slightly higher SEED rank which you could achieve by taking the tests.

Anyway, I've never 'destroyed' it. My main concern is to get the higher SeeD rank by escaping faster. The only thing that's really a crap shoot is the bridge run where it jumps over to where you are, causing you to run back, and then run back AGAIN when it jumps again.
