That's why, more often than not, I made sure to save just before facing a character for a major card - like facing Edea for her card under Random... I lost many big-time cards, and still didn't get it. I eventually lucked out, but it was frustrating.

The Before Crisis soundtrack is pretty fucking awesome, but then it was a game centered around The Turks, what would you expect?

So what's everybodies favourite Final Fantasy "Love Story"? I've always found my personal favourite to be Squall and Rinoa, the way they grow together and develop as a couple always seemed the most natural to me, from the moment Squall dances with Rinoa to the moment he saves her out in space, I think they're such iconic moments of a love that's really otherwise quite subtle (yet obvious) throughout the story, especially with Squall trying to constantly distance himself.

I've gotta say Squall and Rinoa too. The scene with the party member you chose, Ellone, Piet, and Squall in the escape pod shows just how much Squall's character changed through the game.

Easily Squall and Rinoa. Waltz for the Moon is a class piece of music too, so that dance scene kicks ass on so many levels. Especially with Squall pretending he doesn't know how to dance.

Ignoring Squall and Rinoa, I'm going to rock the boat and go for Balthier and Fran. It's the only love story that only really plays out and makes itself known if you talk to people who aren't involved in the story at all. It's so subtle, but it's so meant to be.

I'd say Squall and Rinoa is the main redeeming feature of FFVIII, which otherwise I'm not a fan of. With the exception of the Sorceress nonsense and space travel and memory loss and all the other extraneous bullshit the story throws at you, it seems to be the most natural, organic and realistic "love story" in Final Fantasy, much less "hero rescues princess" and much more "boy meets girl" than most of the others.

I'm trying to remember if there was anything more to Yuna and Tidus than "That girl's pretty." "Be my guardian." "Dying young's a bitch, no?" "Let's have a suggestive little session in a lake." "Whoops, don't exist. Bye."

It dissapoints me people here won't likely hear "Theme of Elfé" Devil or Angel version since it's on Before Crisis, when listened to one after the other (Angel then Devil) it makes for one of my favourite vocal tracks in the FF series.

I've only finished the two games (VII and X) so I dunno if its the same thing for all games, but once the credits roll are you not able to save the game? Do you always have to continue from before the final boss battles?

Not sure its really a spoiler, but better to be safe.

I know how awesome the VIII soundtrack is from having it on my iPod but fucking hell does it seem ten times better during the game. Every piece seems to fit every section of the game its in perfectly.
