First/Last CD You Bought

New Damage

This is not including those CD's that fall off the back of a truck/the internet.

First: "Men In Black" - Will Smith (single), 1997

It was 97, and the man's a god.

First album was WWF The Music 4 in 99, but first 'proper' album was Limp Bizkit's "Chocolate Starfish" about a year later.

Last: "A Modern Way Of Living With The Truth" - The Exies, July 2007

And yours?

I never used to bother with singles, thought of them as a waste of time if I could record from the radio. Then again I never got round to recording off the radio because it was too much time and effort.

First album I remember buying was By the Way by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I remember only listening to the few single songs off it before forgetting about it. A few months ago I played it through fully and realised I'd been stupid to dismiss it as a few good songs. But for £3 it was my first music purchase.

Then again I somehow had Nickleback's breakthrough album in my collection before that, no idea how that was obtained.

Latest album (in CD format that I bought)was probably Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden when I saw it for £2 in asda. You can't go wrong with something like that :D

Since then In Rainbows, Niggy Tardust etc. have all been free

My first CD was Rage Against The Machines Self Entitled album, didn't even like rock music back then and I can't for the life of me remember why I bought it, I think my brothers friend recommended it...

My last CD was 'Wait For Me' By The Pigeon Detectives... as you can tell from my first and last album I've always loved rock music, whatever incarnation it may be, indie, emo, metal etc... well actually not so much metal but I like some.

I could go sadder by telling stories about how I bought the Backstreet Boys and the WWF: The Music volume with The Rock's "Pie" on cassette tape in '99, but I'll go with for first actual CD bought, Nelly's Nellyville in 2001. And the clean version at that.

The last CD I bought was...I think it was a band I saw at a show one night called The Skies Revolt. They're not too too bad, and they put on a great show. Plus, they obviously found that the At The Drive-In style of post-hardcore is a hell of a lot better and more competent a listen than the "SCREAM ALL YOUR LYRICS TO THE POINT WHERE PEOPLE CAN'T UNDERSTAND THEM" style.

First was Nevermind, though the first album I bought myself was Chocolate Starfish. I'm suprised there's been so many throwing Bizkit in as their first purchases. I'd thought I was the only one.

I'm surprised more people haven't said it was their first purchase. Limp Bizkit were huge back in 2000-1, not to mention they partnered with the WWF for Rollin' (Undertaker's theme) and My Way (Wrestlemania X7's theme).
