I'd make sure that no hymns be played.

Because they're my favourites and/or "suit the occasion":

"Come As You Are" - Nirvana

"Rusty Cage/Outshined/Black Hole Sun" - Soundgarden

"Simple Man/I Dare You/Burning Bright" - Shinedown

"Hold On" - Limp Bizkit

"Sweet Child O' Mine" - Guns N' Roses

"Nutshell/No Excuses" Alice In Chains

"Once In A Lifetime" - The Exies

"Say Hello 2 Heaven" - Temple Of The Dog

"How You Remind Me" - Nickelback

"Plush" - Stone Temple Pilots

"Come Alive" - Mercy Fall

For irony's sake:

"For Whom The Bell Tolls" - Metallica

"Pretend We're Dead" - L7

"Knockin' On Heavens Door" - Guns N' Roses

"Man In The Box" - Alice In Chains

It's gonna be an album :shifty:

For years I've wanted, without the spoken word intro, Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain". It's a beautiful piece of music, and I'd rather an instrumental piece played at my funeral as it allows people to remember what they wish and interpret it how they wish, whereas lyrics could kind of bend people's perceptions of the song, and therefore the event, in a specific direction, and I'd rather not have that happen. "Rothko Chapel" by Morton Feldman also, perhaps.

Going by my Dad's service you get three songs. So I would choose:

Courage - Manowar

30 Century Man - Scott Walker

Don't You Forget About Me - Billy Idol

Is that a cover of the Simple Minds song, from The Breakfast Club (and thus Futurama)?
