Guest Takayamanofear
I wanna see Brock fight someone for some reason. Maybe it's just because I want to see someone beat the shit outta him for getting that stupid chest tattoo.
Enter Blue Guy
Brock will probably be put up against some nobody or a can so he is assured the win. Put him against any top 25 heavyweight and I'd put money on him getting demolished, even if he is training with MFS. EDIT: I'm not saying isn't ideal for Brock, because nobodies and cans are the opponents he should be starting his MMA career against, not world class opponents. Javs
Pat Militech talked up Brock pretty nicely on Dave Meltzer's show. Even went as far to say, "In a year, there will be nobody in the world that can beat Brock Lesnar."

Well to be fair, Brock was cut in the NFL and then was left with nothing to do because of his contract to Vince. hence NJPW and he didn't start the MMA training until after he settled the contract, did he? Wasn't he given the offer of working in NFL Europe to gain experience and he turned it down, though?

Big Red Fury
This is off-topic I know, but does anyone else hate that it is called NFL Europe? It's really just NFL Germany.
Javs
More Brock news. "Former Gophers NCAA heavyweight wrestling champion Brock Lesnar has been vigorously training near his home in Independence for an "ultimate fighting" match in October in Las Vegas. Former heavyweight boxer Scott LeDoux is training Lesnar, a former professional wrestler, for boxing, and Lesnar also has a mentor to help him improve his kicking skills." http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/s...se/15184463.htm Pride's US debut is in October, right? Intresting then who he'll be fighting for. UFC must know the kind of publicity Brock will give them. If he's fighting for Pride, that would be a great way to introduce them to the US audience. Possibly Pride is in much more trouble than previously thought? Edited August 6, 2006 by Javs
Mysterio2000X
Extended report of the Cro Cop situation: Saturday, August 05, 2006 by Sherdog.com Staff A dispute over money has apparently caused heavyweight Mirko Filipovic (Pictures) to remove himself from September 10's PRIDE Open-Weight Grand Prix semifinal versus Wanderlei Silva (Pictures) and thus the highly anticipated Final Four, Croatian newspaper Vecernji list reported Saturday. Filipovic's main point of contention appears to be the $150,000 purse that goes to the victor of the tournament — which the Croat said is insufficient considering he will have to win two bouts in one night to become Grand Prix champion. The explosive striker, best known for a missile-like left high kick, said that he will close down training camp on Monday and leave for vacation. When asked for reaction, a representative for Dream Stage Entertainment, the parent company of the PRIDE Fighting Championship, told Sherdog.com that they are in contact with the Croatian star. However DSE declined to offer any comment beyond that. Vecernji list also reported that "Cro Cop" has fielded a substantial offer from the World Fighting Alliance, an American promotion that held a pay-per-view card on July 22 in Los Angeles. Fitzy
Dave Meltzer is reporting that the third Ortiz vs. Shamrock fight is going to be airing as a Spike TV special. --Dana White just confirmed to us this morning that he's gotten verbal agreements to terms from both Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock for a 10/10 fight on a Spike TV special. The show will likely be held at the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood, FL.
JoeMimic
Well they better catch a fanbase quick; those are some pretty good numbers for payoffs. But paying so well while going up against the UFC who are now going to put Shamrock/Ortiz III on FREE tv is a daunting task thats going to take money. ACCBiggz
I heard about this yesterday, but nothing was confirmed, so good news there. It will be interesting to see what the undercard will be. Also, I'll be doing another UFC Pick Em' for 62, I'll set it up later and give the details here. Javs
I believe the Cro Cop situation is almost(if not already) resolved. Brandon Vera vs. Frank Mir has been added to UFC 62. Credit-www.brandonvera.com. This makes the card much more intriguiging to me. I love watching Vera fight. He's no doubt the future of UFC heavy, and probably one of the best well rounded fighters around. If Mir shows up like he did at 61, Vera by murder. But IMO, Mir at his best still can't beat Vera.
