Futurama Returned!

Watched the Bender origin one last night, I loved it. Sure, it wasn't on the level of Jurrasic Bark with the ending, but it didn't try to be. The episode never tried to give you some deep meaningful relationship, it was just a fun ride with a sweet ending. I cracked up every time at the "he said fire" lines. I'm happy with any episode which features more Hermes, one of the most under-rated characters in the entire show.

Will be grabbing this weeks tonight but aside from the irrelevant Susan Boyle stuff, I've really enjoyed the return.

The first episode was way better than the Da Vinci episode. Last night's wasn't that great either (more concept than actual laughs, to be honest), but it gets points for even remembering and acknowledging why Amy was at Planet Express in the first place. I had totally forgotten that she was a grad student.

Man. Futurama took an episode gimmick I don't care for in bodyswitching, did my biggest pet peeve about it (that they somehow have the same voice in a new body), and did a fantastic episode. Funniest episode since the show came back (though the time machine one is probably the best overall).

Futurama has been marvellous since it returned to the half-hour format. It's been able to do something new and refreshing to the canon without going off the rails completely like Family Guy. Let's hope it goes beyond the 26 episode run.

DDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!

Great episode tonight. I was a little shaky on it at first because the Lrrr episodes are usually hit or miss (Popplers good, "human horn" bad), but this one was a lot of awesome. Highlight for me was "Ooh, Joss Whedon's gonna be here!?"

My highlight was the "Futurella" opening, being replaced by "CANCELLED" and Matt Groenings "Man..Fox has really streamlined the process!"

Just a fantastic episode all-around. Taking shots at the fact that comic books matter less and less at ComicCon is a surefire way to make me love an episode immediately (as is employing the Stylistic Suck trope repeatedly).

Kind of an underwhelming episode given that it was meant to be the season finale. Not sayin' it was bad - it wasn't. Just underwhelming.
