Little something to pass the time.

Or for a better one, try to assemble the best XI plus manager you can using only players with your birthday. This is a useful source, if anyone can find somewhere with a more comprehensive retired list that would be good: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aktuell/geburtstage

GK Carl Ikeme (Retired, ex-Wolves)

DR Matt Polster (Rangers)
DL Ferland Mendy (Real Madrid)
DC Matt Carbon (Retired, ex-WBA)
DC Mike te Wierek (Groningen)

MC Javier Mascherano (Retired, ex-Barcelona)
MC Dickson Etuhu (Retired, ex-Preston)
MC Finn Ole Becker (St. Pauli)

RW Kadeem Harris (Sheff Wed)
LW Kamil Grosicki (WBA)
ST Ahmed Khalil (Al Shabab)

Manager: Jose Antonio Camacho (managed to get sacked by Real Madrid without managing a single game)

Used a bunch of retired lads, would probably still do a job in the Championship though.

I'm assuming this is an all-time team? I'm not expecting Bryan Robson or Gerson to come in and do a job now, so can change accordingly.

If they're allowed, this team, in its prime could definitely do bits. Couldn't find a good right winger, so given Sane a free role behind a powerhouse strike force.

GK - Tiago Sa (Braga)

RB - Dani Carvajal
CB - Michael Keane
CB - Felix Torres (Colombian International)
LB - Ismaily (Long-Serving Shakhtar defender)

CM - Diade Samassekou (Hoffenheim, Mali Internatonal)
CM - Bryan Robson
CM - Gerson (Ex-Brazil International)

CAM - Leroy Sane

ST - Jamie Vardy
ST - Emile Heskey

Manager - Adrian Heath (Former Burnley, Coventry and and Sheffield United manager)

GK Daniele Padelli (Inter)

DR Davide Faraoni (Hellas Verona)
DL Graham Carr (Retired, Alan Carr's dad)
DC Elias Figueroa (Retired - Internacional)
DC Jonathan Panzo (Cercle Brugge)

MC Darron Gibson (Salford City)
MC Jefferson Lerma (Bournemouth)

RW Shaun Wright-Phillips (Retired)
LW Dominik Szoboszlai (Salzburg)

ST Federico Chiesa (Fiorentina)
ST Oleg Salenko (Retired -Dynamo Kiev)

Manager: Lawrie Sanchez

In a nutshell, Lawrie has his work cut out for him defensively given that Graham Carr is in his 70s and whilst Figeruoa was one of the best Latin American centre backs in his day... he too is in his 70s.

Talent and experience out wide, hopefully SWP is still quick.

Salenko scored 5 goals in a group stage match in the World Cup in 94 and knows how to score. Chiesa is one of football's promising players at the moment.

Lerma has to do most of the work in the middle given that Gibson is his partner.

GK - Diego Alves

LB - David Alaba
CB - David May
CB - Micah Richards
RB - Tomas Helveg

MC - Kevin Nolan
MC - Wesley (2 Brazil caps, played for Santos and Werder Bremen so he'll do I guess?

AML - Luis Garcia
AMC - Juan Riquelme
AMR - Shunsuke Nakamura

ST - Lionel Messi

Couldn't see a good manager at a quick glance, call Kevin Nolan player manager? I know he's a bit out of position on the left wing but again couldn't see much out there. There's Luis Garcia knocking around, or you could put Messi there and stick Aruto Lupoli up top?

EDIT: NOW WITH CENTRAL MIDFIELDERS

Oh good shout, I'll take Robson as a player / manager actually.

Even with Messi doing the job of three men, I think the numbers disadvantage might catch up with that side. That said, it would easily beat my motley crew of fairly old, heavily Italian hopefuls.

Team Sei Settembre

GK: Carlo Cudicini (ex-Chelsea)

RB: Stephen Kelly (Irish ex-international, played for Spurs, Birmingham and Fulham)
CB: Jean Yves-Mvoto (one-time Rovers triallist who turned us down for Barnsley)
CB: Joseph Yobo (ex-Everton)
LB: Tyler Denton (Stevenage, ex-Leeds)

CM: Yuki Abe (ex-Leicester and Japan international)
CM: Mattia Valoti (SPAL)
CM: Andres Tello (Benevento, ex-Juventus)

W: Bertrand Traore (Lyon, ex-Chelsea)
W: Saman Ghoddos (Iran, ex-Ostersunds)

ST: Massimo Maccarone (Boro legend)

Coach: Mark Warburton

Pundit/Chief Exec/Substitute: Pat Nevin

Short of drafting in Idris Elba or Braun Strowman, or putting tennis duo Tim Henman and Gregg Rusedski up front, I'm not sure I can improve on this line-up. At least Traore and Ghoddos are in their prime.

I have the likes of Gary Pallister and Tom Davies. Not particularly inspiring.

TBH I'd rather form a team out of non-footballers like Michael Phelps, Mike Tyson and Terry Funk.

F. Ricksen - B. Poulain - A. Figuero - D. Iapichino

L.Cana

S. Govou - M. Hamsik - P. Hurtado

Manager: Triple H

Had to pad the team out with lads I've never heard of. Absolutely set for set pieces with Chilavert though

If I could have used famous people, Rylan Clark upfront so he can blind the keeper with his teeth.
