2011 College Football Season

If the TCU kicker had missed that, he would have had to walk home from Waco.

Not on broken legs, he wouldn't have.

Holiday weekend, he'd easily get back to Fort Worth before classes on Tuesday. Waco is just a smidge down the road and all.

Seriously though, this game is fucking nuts. Kind of weird to say that a guy with 5 TD passes looks like shit right now :shifty:

How do you have forever and a day to pass and nearly throw a pick right into someone's gut one play and then throw one right into another guy's hands the next? Awful finish to an exciting game. If he'd had red hair, he would have thrown the game winning TD instead :shifty:

Well now if Boise State loses we can at least have a semi-controversy free BCS.

Except for when A&M/Oklahoma both have one loss in the Big 12, The Big 10 produces 3 teams with 2 losses, the SEC winner has 3 losses but the loser of the title game has 1, and the Pac 12 has 2 teams with 2 losses.

... and Notre Dame has 2 losses, FSU has 1 loss, and FIU goes undefeated.

:shifty:

OH ... and I told you so: Oklahoma to decide on Big 12

TEN TO WATCH

Guys you probably haven't heard of or didn't realize were this good.

Nathan Scheelhaase QB - Illinios

As a true freshman he torched the Big 10 with 1828 passing yards and 868 rushing yards with 22 total TDs. This kid is only going to get better and with Paul Patrino as his OC (the guy that led Mallet and that ridiculous Arkansas offense) the sky is the limit. This kid can make Illinois a surprise team easily.

Christine Michael RB - A&M

Yeah, this is the guy that was starting but got hurt and allowed Cyrus Gray to explode on everyone last year. He's a former 900yd rusher and is absolutely a starting talent. Completely healthy now he gives A&M a two legged threat that very few can boast in the backfield.

Davin Meggett RB - Maryland

Brick shithouse. 5'9" - 215 pounds. Yeah. He actually led the team in rushing last year but all of the focus (and rightfully so) is on QB O'Brien and the passing game. The problem is that the HR threat is gone from the WR corp (Torrey Smith) and the Turtles need that star player that isn't taking the snaps. Meggett showd flashes of it last year.

Isaiah Pead RB - Cincinnati

He was probably the most quiet 1000yd rusher from a BCS Conference last year. He was a bright spot despite Cincy's face plant last year. The defense should be stout again with 10 guys back but the offense needs to pick it up. Pead has the ability to fill the shoes of guys like Gilyard that they've had in the past. Cincy's Big East hopes will fall on this man's shoulders.

Dominique Davis QB - ECU

He's a mobile guy like Russel Wilson is, and that's a good thing. This kid came from out of nowhere last year. He enrolled late in the fall, stepped right in, and set 15 school records. He ended up with 3967yds and 37 TDs and also tossed in 9 rushing TDs as well. It's all about Davis at ECU and they don't care. He's literally going to determine how they fare. If nothing else, it should be fun to watch.

Eric Page WR - Toledo

He had a huge breakout freshman year with big games against BCS opponents Colorado (upset win), Ohio State, and Purdue. All he did was follow that up with another 1000yd receiving year. I didn't look it up, but I'd be surprised if there is another WR returning this year that has two 1000yd seasons on their resume. Toledo has some lofty goals this year and Page is going to set the tone each game.

Billy Winn DL - Boise State

This guy is a beast. The defense of Boise State tied with FSU last year for the nation's lead in sacks with 48. Winterswyk got all the love but Winn was the motor that powered the attack. The defense is going to have to be as good or better than last year and it's going to start up front in the trenches. This man is going to decide games for the Broncos this year.

Rodney Stewart RB - Colorado

He's just a 'lil guy. 5'6" 175 is small by HS standards even, but there's nothing wrong with this man being the lead Buff in the Herd. 1300+ yards and 10 TDs will make that decision easy. Oh, and keeping #1 overall recruit in the nation Darrell Scott on the bench and then forcing him to transfer (USF) will raise some eyebrows as well. The Buffs need everything and then some in order to avoid a last place division finish their first year in the PAC12. Stewart is more than good enough to give them reason to think they can do it.

Chad Bumphis WR - Miss State

Everyone knows Relf and Ballard. It's Bumphis though that gives Miss State the true double threat and ability to stretch the field. Ballard will garner plenty of attention (900+ yards, 19 TDs) and Relf is a legit dual threat at QB ... which leaves Bumphis with plenty of opportunity to help break open games or take them by the throat. He's shown he can do it with 600+ yards and 5 TDs receiving last year.

T.Y. Hilton WR - FIU

The one thing that plagued FIU last year was their inability to score from out of nowhere. 4 of 6 losses saw them with 20pts or less. The Panthers are a tough/physical team but they're going to need to have a threat that spreads defenses out. Hilton is that guy and if he can repeat or improve on last year 59 - 848 - 5 TDs then the Panthers shouldn't have a problem with the points.

I'm pretty excited about this season. An easy non-conference schedule should mean 4 wins and I think it is more than likely we can go at least 3-5 in the B10, thus leading to a 7-5 overall record. I'm really hoping Scheelhaase will continue his improvement and that our D can hold up after losing Liuget, LaShoure, and M. Wilson.
