The official line from Blackburn is that Chris Samba is ill. I'm not so sure.

Rooney missed another pen, apparently should have been a red card for Zat Knight but only a yellow though.

I only briefly saw the replay, but Knight seemed to only bundle into the back of Wellbeck. It was clumsy, but a red would have been harsh.

I think the argument was weather it was a goal scoring opportunity or not. I'll not see it until MOTD tonight though.

I'm of the opinion that unless it was a straight red (professional foul, violence) the penalty is penalty enough.

Yeah denying a clear goalscoring opportunity tends to be a professional foul but not always, much like a two footed tackle isn't necessarily reckless or excessive.

I can't say whether the Bolton player should've been sent off 'cos I've not seen it.
