Celtic Sion finished 0-0, Celtic bossed the game in the second half but couldn't do anything to get that goal. We'd have won if we had Hooper/Kayal/Izaguirre, easily.

Ahhhh happy days for Spurs and a great first game of the season. Kranjcar was good from what I heard and Redknapp was singing the praises of his and VdV's link-up play. Hope this leads to him getting more game time this year.

Huddlestone comes in for 30 minutes so coming back from injury. Livermore great apparently and Townsend should get more game time in the return leg.

A pleasing start.

Gutted Athletic Club couldn't get the job done against Trabzonspor, going to Turkey will be tough be a score-draw would suffice. Is going to be a tough La Liga for them though if they have European commitments to juggle so maybe a defeat wouldn't be too bad. Then again, more matches for Bielsa with the team may be useful too - I'm sure they're still in the preparation stages as Bielsa has given them a tactical overhaul.

Jovanovic scored for Anderlecht, for anyone who cares. Hannover beating Sevilla looks tasty, probably two of the better clubs in the draw so it's a shame one of them will have to miss the tournament.

Good draw for Shamrock Rovers, but I wouldn't fancy their chances in Partizan, and a good win for Slovan over Roma. I look forward to the review at Britski Belasi.

It's interesting because a lot of the more Eastern European countries have started their leagues already so are in full swing, and the stronger Western leagues haven't, or have only just begun - so it can level the playing fields sometimes.

I like Henry Winter - follow him on twitter, he's one sports writer I genuinely like and respect his opinion, actually talks some sense. Spurs were brutal, they played really well, hopefully they can continue some of that form into the Premiership and they dont suffer from playing thursday nights.

You controlled the game easily, but remember, your midfield was up against the absolutely pitiful midfield pairing of Adrien Mrowiec and Ian Black who are both absolutely fucking awful in the SPL, never mind against players of Van Der Vaart and Kranjcars quality.

Shamrock will be hoping for any of the English teams really, it would secure them at least one game on UK television and that's gonna mean alot of money for a club like them. Shamrock Rovers vs Tottenham Hotspurs does have a good ring to it though!
