The 2012 Summer Transfer Window thread

Fucking hell that Chelsea up front is frightening. It's great to have these players in the Premier League but the whole investment in transfers is getting pretty stupid. Think how important that Champions League win has turned out to be, because without it Hazard or Hulk definitely wouldn't have signed. AVB must be crying over the thought of the team he could have had.

Awesome additions for Chelsea.

I can definitely see a City, Chelsea, Utd top 3. Not necessarily in that order, but there's a good chance of it happening.

Oh, and Spurs will finish 6th, because Arsenal and Liverpool are 4th and 5th. Sorry Lineker, Hammy etc. :shifty:

Unless we get Guardiola trying to force us to play tiki-taka like some godawful Barca-lite (see: Arsenal).

The same godawful Barca lite that finished higher than Chelsea in the league? :shifty:

Jokes aside, that Chelsea team is more than a bit worrying. Its a shame too, Arsenal made it to third relying almost entirely on RVP, imagine what we could do if we had managed to sign the likes of Hazard as well. Chelsea will be one to watch next season for sure.

So...Hulk, Hazard, Torres, Mata, Marin, Ramires, Sturridge, Lukaku, wow.

Chelsea SHOULD be right up there with City next season, honestly can't see United competing with those two without big signings, which I don't expect. I know United arguably should have won the league last season, but with any other manager they wouldn't have done anywhere near as well, and Fergie cant realistically have too many seasons left.

No. United shouldn't have arguably won the league last season.

Utd were 8 points clear before the Wigan and Everton fuck ups. Without them, they would've won the league. There's the argument.

That's not an argument. If Wolves would've won the matches they fucked up, they'd have won the league.

Both United and Everton had spells that weren't up to their usual standard, but at the end of the day, the team that wins is the team that deserves it in the premiership. Even if it comes down to goal difference.

Agreed. There's no such thing as 'arguably should've won the league', unless you count 'no, you had less points than the winner' as an argument.
